i've been a huge on the SG for many years. and to be honest, when I play CT, the Famas is my top choice. I tend to play more like a supportive teammate. I've naturally been better with the famas than the m4 (especially CS:GO's M4, I actually liked the 1.6 M4 a lot more than I like the current one). But I do however prefer the SG over the AUG. I've just never really liked the AK as much because I tend to try to avoid getting in fights in close quarters and like to have a rifle I can sit a bit farther back with.

GAMING spiderkid We call the SG the “ COD Gun” for a reason. If you just started playing the game, sure go for it. It has literally zero recoil and thats why its much easier to use and thats why newer players will use it. But if you are playing the game for a long time and you buy the SG only because you dont want to put any effort in the game thats called having no skill. What if a teammate drops you a AK or a M4 what are you gonna do? Spray and pray that you are close to the enemy?

i've always preferred the SG553. I find it fit my all around play style, being able to handle fights over longer distances without the need to go full sniper rifle while still giving good close quarter performance. I'm not the best CS player with pin point accuracy so I never was able to become super fluent in AK use and just liked having the option of the slight zoom in scope of the SG

Maybe raising the price to 3300 would be a better idea. It's still viable in long ranges (twice more accurate scoped than the AK) but it's really situational right now.

WarOwl has an interesting point because as more people use the SG you will (even if you're insistent on using the AK) be forced into using the SG because more people will use it, and therefore you will see it on dead bodies more often, and if you're on Eco grabbing whatever you can get, you will be picking it up more. I'm gonna plug an idea I've mentioned before regarding that they should make the SG/AK and AUG/M4 into the SAME slot to replace in the inventory, then throw some battle rifles / semi auto rifles in the 'old' AUG/SG slot (Think about how different, say, the CZ operates compared to a tec-9. They are two completely different styles even though they are in the same slot but just because of that mechanism difference they cater to two COMPLETELY different playstyles and positioning advantages). You want to increase the viability of a body-shot meta (as I've heard I believe even WarOwl say should be a thing)? High damage shots is how you do it. No point in going for a headshot if you got a body shot and you only need to get one more hit for a kill (balance it with slow movement speed and high recoil to keep scout viable). While they're at it, personally I would love to see scopeless battle rifles -- I love the G3 and SCAR platform and would love to see it be more viable. Would be nice to see the M249 become an INSANELY expensive and 'premium assault rifle' operating off the best of the AK and M4 stats plus ammo with a high price point. All guns should AT LEAST be viable in their niches, and all niches should be equally viable in a battlefield. Now, 'the battlefield' referring to if each MAP should have those niches or the MAP POOL should collectively cater to each of the niches is up for debate. But either way, seeing some variance to everyone's 'specialization' would be cool. Maybe you can trade the SG/AUG for semi-auto high damage rifles, since the AK/M4 meta is so fundamental. But nonetheless would be cool to see them experiment with and EXPAND the game's META. There hasn't been any INTENTIONAL, LONG LASTING, ACCEPTED, AND NON-NERFED change to the PRIMARY WEAPON META in 15 YEARS AND 3+ GAMES (except the AWP, but that change nerfed/LIMITED the AWPers effectiveness, not made them change to a different weapon or varied their playstyle or anything).
