“In all matters and transactions relating to The League each Club shall behave towards each other Club and The League with the utmost good faith.” It's vague, and there's arguments on both sides, but there is a precedent: Crystal Palace were fined back in 2016 for getting hold of Cardiff's teamsheet 2 days early. My opinion is this is the same as a manager encouraging diving, faking injury and time-wasting. Not morally good, and if Leeds want to get themselves that reputation of being the most morally corrupt team in the football league then that's their prerogative.

Tim is the one who seems to understand Bielsa the most... they ask themselves several times about why Bielsa did that press conference, they look for a "reason" in the sense as most people do, and that's what makes me think that they actually still doesn't know Bielsa... yes he is a extremely clever man and when it comes down to football he (obviously) doesn't leave any "loose ends"; but that press conference is exactly the kind of behaviour that makes him "El Loco"... he ain't looking anything especifically, he ain't foreseeing whats going to happen or if he is going to be punished or not, he is just doing what he thinks it needs to be done, even in his own detriment; the press conference its just his way to say: "Here is what I got and what I've done, make your decision, I'll respect it and then decide what I'm going to do next". Tim also got it right about that he does not even care about what people thinks about him, he does not care about politics, money, pose, fame or most of the things that "normal" people worries about.... Bielsa didn't won more titles or coached rich/big teams not just because his teams runs out of gas at the end of season but also because he does not "measure" this kind of things as for example Mourinho, Guardiola or Simeone would do it. Personally I'm a big fan, he is maybe the last romantic on a sport where buisness and politics are the "normal" way to success, he is "El Loco", take it or leave it, 100% Bielsa style.

Sanjog Nepal but more than 99% of that was through the same methods any other club could use. He said himself there are three things you want to know; the formation - he showed he has researched that to the nth degree o his team are prepared whichever formation is put out. Set pieces - again he showed he already knew all the set pieces. Third the players who will play - as Cole said clubs divulge which players are injured or carrying a knock, most teams have a press conference these days just days before the game and the manager tells everybody who is and isn't likely to play. All I think he gets from spying is potentially if a key player is not running as well as would be expected.

The guy is a genius who puts absolutely everything in to analysing tapes of his opponents. 4hrs of footage on ever game. Which is not illegal to get this information. It’s the fact that he spends so much time on getting everything as right as possible these other managers who just say right go out on pitch and do this. There's an old story about Yugoslavia spying on Uruguay for their opening game back in the 1924 Olympic games, as no one had a clue about teams from South America back then. Having somehow got wind of the ploy the Uruguay coach instructed his players to put on the worst performance imaginable, and so they did, failing to carry out the most rudimentary skills through out the training session, the two agents happily reported back to their boss that the first game was as good as a walk in the park, and that he needn't bother fielding his strongest side and could save the legs of his star players for later key matches against stronger opposition . End Result , Uruguay 7 Yugoslavia 0 .... The moral of the story is that discovering you are being watched can work to your advantage, if you are prepared to use what you know and your opponents don't , or you could go the moral victim road .

To be honest I don't really care how long this goes on. What we have seen so far this season from Leeds under Bielsa is that the team spirit is unbelievable and the bond he has built between the fans, himself and the players is incredible. The mentality that everyone is against us will only motivate the whole club even more. The Sheffield United manager said as much. When the 15 point deduction was given at the beginning of the season a few years ago Dennis Wise said it galvanised the whole club and they wiped out the deficit in the first two months. That season we went on to win 12 of our first 14 games and drew the other 2. A run like that would all but guarantee promotion unless the League deducted a huge amount of points. If they did I'm sure the club would have the case before the sports arbitration body to get anything overturned and that would cause considerable embarrassment to the governing bodies. I'm sure he will already be telling the players they need to get the points on the board now just in case points are deducted and as we have Norwich and Middlesboro coming up in the next four games that is one heck of an incentive. Let's not also forget that Bielsa is one of the few managers in all the top leagues that has yet to criticise any referee for a bad decision, even though he has had cause. This is unlike a certain Frank Lampard who has already been sent off as a manager and received an improperly conduct charge from the FA.

The more this is talked about, the more I see how he shouldn’t be punished. The only thing observing a training session in football can give you is the set pieces they might play. The rest can be seen from watching them play. It’s not like American football where everything is like a set piece

Every other team manager is now covering his tracks, I cannot believe that Bielsa is the only manager not sending people out to look at other teams training. Most tactics are doing indoors on a wipe board., most training grounds are in public area's so people can watch. If the EFL or the FA deduct points from Leeds it will be a travesty, look at all of the other clubs that have had fines for things that could be considered as worse. West Ham for example, the Tevez issue, just a fine, if they had been deducted points Sheff Utd. would have stayed up. Leeds and Luton have been deducted points before, we started one season with minus points. It will be interesting to see how the EFL handle this, I bet the Leeds lawyers are going through all of the fine print on the standards document. Anyway I am off to buy a drone and fly it over the Stoke training ground, see what I can find out (joking of course)

I assume the Lawyers know the law,the club know him, I don't see him getting punished since he hasn't broken any law....maybe EFL & FA create one then warn him otherwise,Bielsa is indirectly telling the other managers to step up

Bielsa names the Leeds team days in advance, so there is no need to send anyone to see what our line up will be. If you want to know how we are going to play see last week. Leeds have been dreadful defending set pieces, so there has been no advantage to Leeds watching training sessions. He doesn't criticize referees not matter how bad their decisions. Bielsa has OCD when it comes to football, but is an honourable man, an honest man,

I have never seen such an over reaction in my life. Do people seriously think this isn't the norm? I mean let's get real, football is a game with no morals. Spying on an opponent is part and parcel of the game. I would have thought Frank Lampard would have known better than to complain about it, all his years in football and he's never seen this? Do me a favour Bielsa is a genius, let's embrace a genius at work and love the fact how brazen he was - he was almost like yeah so what

Like the pundits said ... there is no proper guidelines about this. If there is no proper guidelines about it, how can he be guilty? Its like saying we all know stealing is wrong in country X, but there is no law about stealing. So when someone is caught stealing ... can he be charged for a crime? Sounds silly to me. It is simple. You don't want people watching your training ... do it indoors. Problem solved.

If teams don't want to be spied upon, then there's a very simple solution: make sure all of your trainig sessions are behind closed doors. If, in whatever way, an opponent is still spying on you while you're having an enclosed training session, then maybe that would justify some kind of punishment. But if you train while everyone can see it, then you more or less have to expect your opponents to come and have a look, haven't you? I mean... is a professional game so you can expect your opponents to try, as hard as they possibly can, to find ways to get ahead of you. There's nothing wrong with that of course.
