There is no known quantity at UTD, Ten Haag is literally starting from the ground up if a 5-10 player clear out is to be believed. Conte had a set core group of players and half of a first XI already in place. Ten Haag will have Sancho and de Gea as the only ones even remotely set in stone

It would be good to be able to integrate the youth in the team with those Europa/Europa Conference League games but the rot is so deep, I think European football, which is still competitive at any level (Spurs and Leicester haven't found it so easy in the Conference league), will just be an unnecessary distraction. Just competing in domestic football should be our focus for the next 2 seasons imo.

He is,.and was good as a squad player as he can cover a number of positions,. but was not happy at limited games and playing outside his preferred position. Academy player, and Yeh I'd agree as a first teamer every game, no, but he is good enough to play at united in a squad rotation role, cover where needed and play in games where other., better players need resting. The other teams he played for he is unbelievable so shows his quality, and how good he is, and how good YOU have to be to play for Manchester united at the Top level,.week in,. Week out.

It indeed helped Arsenal by getting rid of deadwood players like Kolasinac, Mustafa, Ozil, Sokratis, Willian and even Aubameyang who were on high wages milking the club without returns on the field. This gave Arteta an ammunition to reorganise the team with young inexperienced but hungry players with no pressure from demanding midweek games. With European competition, there was no way Arsenal were going to cancel those contracts. Now this myopic view from Simon leaves me baffled how a former EPL club owner is so daft not to see change that has been effected by Arteta with youngest squad in the league, this was beneficial to Arsenal due to them not competing in Europe. One wonders how he failed as a club owner - lack of vision.

Arsenal are currently on 60 points with 5 games left. 66-67 points is definitely achievable, not saying it is certain, because anything can happen but its not inconceivable that the points tally will be achieved and more. People really need to stop undermining the top 4 race, not saying the teams involved (spurs and Arsenal) are world beaters, but points wise they are on course to do better than the last 2 seasons top 4 finishers.

I think that man United should hire Stewart Webber from Norwich City as the head of recruitment as he worked with Ralf for a while (as Paul Mitchell is heading to Melwood due to being from the area). Meanwhile, while you are there, get a deal for Tzolis, Cantwell and Aarons too. Probably Pukki too. Not a Man Utd fan but I'd say Europa League would be ideal for them as they really need to incorporate a few youngsters within that squad similar to Elanga. The group stage could easily be left to the reserves and youngsters (providing you don't get seriously unlucky with the draw) so the amount of games shouldn't be an issue

Ronaldo won't stick around at a club who isn't playing champions league football. Yet I do feel champions league football is only going to hurt the man u rebuild more than it will benefit them. Perhaps Europa league would be more ideal short term but the main focus should sorely be on building a new squad. It's unlikely though as man u are ran as a buisness but IF man u focus just on squad building they will eventually get where they want to be a lot sooner than later. I dont personally think keeping Ronaldo should be the clubs priority right now. But if he does stay it would be great for helping rebuild a new young squad.

There is no statistical evidence that not playing in Europe help teams perform better in the PL. Statistically the majority of teams that qualify for Europe are the teams that are already playing in Europe.

It's outrageous saying it would be better for Utd not to be in Europe. If they think it's an advantage to the first team then just play the reserve team in every game. That's still better than not being in Europe at all
