He chose against claiming a part of his investment in the club, letting it go into administration so he didn't go bankrupt. The club is back today because administration is meant to find a new buyer at a subsidised value. If he did the opposite, the club would thrive but he'd be done. Am I to assume you'd take the same decision if faced with the same dilemma? There's a reason football clubs aren't profitable and those who want to keep them profitable are the ones fans cry and moan about because they justifiably are poor owners who aren't pumping money.

Don't tell me that taking dividends out of a club prevent the club from competing. Dividends are a mere small percentage of the total profits made in a year. The problem with the Glazers is how they run a club, and I see nothing in your argument that refutes a perfectly logical point Simon made about what the purpose of the protest is. If you want to talk about United then you also need to understand that businesses aren't charity. The community angle to football is what allows fan such right to protest and they're absolutely right to. Anywhere else though, and this argument about taking money from the club is foolhardy and myopic. You don't buy businesses to keep pumping your own money into it. You do it to keep the cash flow going and make profits from it. Even if you go the other way with value appreciation over the years, United's problem isn't that they take money out. It's that taking money out is just indicative of the kind of owners the Glazers are. Again. Protests are meaningless without a purpose and a way to arrive at a solution. Unless someone buys the club, the protests will go on even if United dominate like they did before. Again, that shows a clear lack of real world understanding of business and economics.

They replaced C. Ronaldo & Tevez with Valencia & Owen. Sir Alex's side was made up of ageing legends and under par academy players. Once he left they renegotiated the interest on the bank loan so have been able to spend big but spent badly.

I'm a United fan and honest, watching a few hundred people come into a game late or leave early in a stadium that consistently fills most of its 75,000 seats is pointless. The stadium still looks full. Even a couple of thousand would barely register on camera. If the entire Stretford End stood up and walked out, that would be something but the people organising these protests seem to just talk amongst themselves and then expect everyone else to follow. It's very disorganised. Plus, last season the fans managed to get the biggest game in English football called off. That's about as big a protest as you can get. People can argue about the merits of breaking the law by getting into Old Trafford and on to the pitch but there's no arguing the fact that it made world wide headlines. In comparison, staging a walkout where only a few people take part is tame.

Simon we protested before and after they bought the club, we protested in 2010 after we've had won a double in 2009/2010. They've never spent their money on the club, but the club profits we used, the structure of the club, the wage bill for under performing players, the position in the club, it's all down to their mismanagement and ownership of the club. The training ground, the stadium, we still owe about £600m in debt, £200m+ in transfer debt.

Fans do have the habit of overestimating their power at financially strong clubs like United. Look at City, they have anywhere from 8 to 17 fans turn up to a homegame and they're quite possibly the best team in world football. Liverpool and United are completely different situations. Liverpool was on the verge of annihilation whilst United are 'having a bad spell'. The main reason why Hicks and Gillet got turfed out: they were unable to pay back loans and used the club as a guarantor against this debt - risking people's livelihoods and presenting a legal case to dissolve their ownership. The valuation of the club was £300m which was saddled with debt. United are worth billions and has nowhere the levels of debt Liverpool had. The club has appointed a variety of top class managers & bought many quality players. They’ve gone commercial and also non-commercial. For some reason they haven’t been better than other big teams. Glazers don't directly run the football club, that's the CEOs job, woodward. 98% of club billionaire are not directly into running the affairs of the club, they only Listen do the development and evaluation of club performance. Its like City fans saying Sheikh mansour Out, bcos city are not playing well, Mansoor is not directly involved in daily activities of the club, that is done by the Ceo, Al mubarak, Pep, Soriano and txiki. At United, Woodward is the Ceo, Surrounding himself with Boards which includes Sir Alex Ferguson as major decision maker. Glazers only input was financial release of funds, how it's managed should be at the doorstep of Woodward and Ferguson. Evidently, Glazers has released funds every year, pay wages which is a motivational factor in itself, They are not the ones who signed pogba, ibra and the likes, They are american billionaires who call football soccer. Its stupid to protest against the glazers, A lot of the blame goes to the Board and Managements. Glazers are not responsible for pogba not playing well, sanchez, Martial, thats down to the coaches. Al mubarak didn't know about football either, so he hired the entire barcelona Crew under pep, Woodward doesn't know football either so he hired The entire crew under ferguson. What has this people done wrong, only a stupid, ignorant fan would protest against the glazers, they are different from what owners like mike Ashley and kroenke are. They've never put the club in a position where they have to sell before they buy.

A protest is silly. Step 1, Don't buy season tickets. Step 2, don't buy a ticket to the game. Step 3, don't buy beverages. Step 4, don't buy merchandise. Step 5, if you do go to the game, have the entire stadium walk out after 10 minutes. So, effect their money and they might change things. It will take years to get them out.
