I think police officers and security officers should get paid the same salary since a security officer works just as hard as a police officer they just have to use different strategies in different precautions and laws but they mostly do about the same thing serve and protect that's my opinion on it

Security is such a wide field. Overall I feel they should make less than LE however, that's dependent on your post. Big difference between armed security for say, a high crime apartment complex, versus someone in an office building unarmed, checking for ID's all day. The armed Officer in the high crime apartment complex should make WAY more than the unarmed ID checking post. So it's all relative in my mind. With proper certifications, experience, and site dependent, I feel some security should definitely make at least close to what some LE makes.

Security Officers should have more authority! Whats the damn point if they are classified as just citizens? Security Officers are the first on the sceneand the only one to have a police officer's back if they have no backup readily available. Constantly more limitations added to prevent the Security Officer from preforming effectively. Unarmed should make less, but Armed should make just as much as Law Enforcement if not more.

I say it depends on the environment or whatever the officer will have to deal with at that specific site/location. They should definitely be payed accordingly to those specifics.

Wow I didn't even think about that in a video, But normally their job is pretty stressful too because it's a lot of physical dealing with the inmates

I think we should be classified as first responders, also I believe those who are armed security with experience should be paid the same or even more than PD.

Security isn’t responding all over a jurisdiction for calls, working accidents, securing crime scenes, escorts, hospital prisoner security, mental health commitment orders etc….. so no the pay shouldn’t be the same
