Great Secruity Ride Along Video Content and Amazing Security Patrol Officer

I would advise any security guard to have great physical strength, cardiovascular stamina, hands - on training before detaining a person in public. The reality is you are likely to get killed or kill someone, unless you are at an account that requires hands - on work with backup. Keep in mind that if criminals are high on drugs or prison inmates have trained for years with weights, you could be in serious trouble. My advice is to observe, report, take videos, pictures, and call for help. Never risk your life, your goal is to complete your shift and go home. I have seen three to four cops struggling to detain one criminal.

Unfortunately not all contracts and responsibilities are Paul Blart, aka, observe and report only. Some contracts you are the private “police” of the property and police only get involved during arrests to transport to the magistrate. Hence, different levels of training and different levels of responsibilities per contract. But at the end of the day, still not a cop. I will say this much, I’ll never work retail or factory security ever again because it is an absolute joke. Working that for a short time made me understand Paul Blart and Craig and DayDay mentalities even more. And yes, training is key to everything! Training is your liability protection. For example, contracts that only have a five minute video of the outdated run, hide and fight active shooter “training” and only fires 15-50 shots down range at a still piece of paper, isn’t going to hold a lot of weight in civil litigation when and if ever have to use a firearm, god forbid. Versus someone that has taken a homeland security or the ALERRT active shooter response course. That goes for everything. Even handcuffing and physically restraining a subject. Always seek out your own training because it don’t matter whether or not your company provided you the training, it’s called, liability protection. I can tell you factually that I have more liability protection than most of the guards I work with due to trainings and certifications I have outside the security industry that can be and does apply to my job. Guaranteed in a case if certain things went to civil court, I’d have a better outcome than coworkers. Which is why I always stress about spending the money and time towards training.

Good video. As I always stress, get training in everything and anything because that is your liability insurance. Even just handcuffing, detaining and restraining someone.

Great video again Commander Hall, I just started a security company up here in Tampa FL, would u happen to know where I can get a copy of some basic security contracts for clients
Does security get different types of training depending on the job they work? Or is the training for security mostly the same regardless of site?
@MichaelT833103 ай бұрын
For example, would security that works as say, a body guard or doing personal protection be trained different from mall security or apartment security? Or is it all basically the same training to be a security officer?
@commanderhall8483 ай бұрын
I would say it's a general training that's universal but also you will go more into detail depending on the job for the individual
@MichaelT833102 ай бұрын
@@commanderhall848 is the additional training provided by the specific company or do they have schools for that type of thing? Like for example the guys who drive brink’s trucks. Do they get additional training from brink’s themselves or do they go to some form of academy for something like that?
@commanderhall8482 ай бұрын
@@MichaelT83310 some companies offer in-house training or they will send the guys to get trained, but if you do research normally you can find academies nearby for additional training on your own time and you can get certified

Yes. I’ve worked contracts that there was zero training and I’ve worked contracts that there is a week, two weeks plus of training in things that you won’t learn in the guard licensing class. Heck, I worked a joke of a factory job that had 10 mins of in house training. It all depends on contract and responsibilities. Current position and one past position via federal government, I had to do the law enforcement eligibility test including psychological evaluation and testings. It was literally the same as the sheriffs office that I worked for a year. When I worked retail security shortly, I had to do nothing but show my guard license and started work the next day. Others contracts where we actually worked protection services, not to be confused with executive protection, I had to go through a few weeks of training because my guard card means and meant diddly squat other that I am eligible to work in a security and or protection capacity. There’s a difference between observe and report and protection services.
