In Dirt Oval track racing people found out a LONG time ago, the less traction there is the better the racing is. When everyone is gripped up and can just rip Wide Open the entire race the racing is not very good it's when it slicks off that you really have to know how to race.

My first thought was, that’s a bad idea. After understanding how they affect the tracks, I think it deserves some serious consideration, especially if it improves rider safety.

I haven’t bought a set of tires in a while but the scoop tire was the only one I knew for sure I wouldn’t buy… I like your opinion but sometimes I think racing can do down the wrong path, because racing doesn’t always translate to sales.

I don't agree because no matter what you do the tracks are going to get blown out, you don't have to worry about that, motocross always has been super gnarly and it always will be. It does strike me as weird to have such an aversion to regulating tires, almost literally every other racing series does that.

World Enduro Championship and FIA got together and came up with a tyre spec that had much shorter knobby heights and spacing - mainly to prevent deep ruts and to save the environment - and everybody has to run with that spec Tyre... Now the Tyre Manufacturers had to compensate with gripper compounds that also lasted longer and that technology filtered down to the end user.... Result: We now have Enduro tyres that really, really work AND less harsh on the trails... A win/win situation...

Agree fella's. They ruined sport bringing 4strokes in as they always like holding and easily do keep lines straight which turn into slot tracks and less exciting to watch and race. 2bangas because of way you would powerslide and drifted everywhere kept track in better condition and not just running in roost of rider you're trying to overtake. 2strokes sounds where so much better and could tell what each rider was doing, not just loud constant wetfart. Tyre restrictions like every other motor sport should be placed.

limit the number of sets of each kind of tires a team gets to have per season. this would allow any rider to run any tire they wanted on any given track. but you only have 2 sets of scoop tires for the whole season so choosing the right tire on the right day could have a huge impact. It creates a new level of strategy that lasts the entire season and will also help level out the playing field because the privateers who show up for only a few races a season will basically always be able to run the best tire for said track because they havnt used up they're sets where HRC and Star will be having to make compromises.

I'd say just make the rubber compound much softer. It's simple, something has to give, either the track or the tires. If you soften the compound the tracks wouldn't take such a beating. You guys have seen tires stacked up by the trash at the end of pro nationals that are "used up" they're like brand new still! I've "scooped" them up myself before and run them on my own bike LOTS of times lol.

Absolutely not. In dirt sprint car racing like with the World of Outlaws they have THE TIRE, everyone runs the exact same ones. If a series with OUTLAW in the title has a tire rule I think it's safe to say that it's a pretty normal thing lol.

if they had a tire for the conditions that work the best the riders will use it. all they need is the good old prototype tire with a mix of real sand knobby's and dirt knobby's. not the sketchy custom mechanic cut mid soft tire

I'd let the guys run whatever tires they want and add some different dirt to the tracks so they dont get chewed up so bad. If they made the start straight more hard packed no one would want a scoop tire.

Just dab a foot in the wrong spot you've blown out your ACL, that's exactly what happened the Kenny at the end of the SX season. Don't rip it so deep like they said and it'll still get tore up, just in a different way like when Ricky was racing.
