I just leased the Blazer LT EV with panoramic sunroof and absolutely love it!!! So excited to be rid of combustion vehicles. I'm pretty sure my lease price is less than it would be for a gas vehicle because of all the incentives and rebates. Great job GM its a winner! Also thank you for your review. A couple things to note this trim level doesn't have some of what I consider basics such as: sunglasses holder, universal garage door opener, or dual temperature controls. I believe the RS does have these where the LT does not. But I'm so impressed with the vehicle I made other allowances for these missing conveniences.

Looking forward to your video on the Equinox EV. It's the first Chevy i've been excited about in a while. They really killed the Blazer for me with their original pricing strategy and of course all the software issues. Hopefully they dont repeat those mistakes with the Equinox launch.

Nice review! I just bought one LT2 a week ago… and really kind of love it. Mine is riptide blue with the pano moonroof. Went with the LT because liked the ride better than with the 21’s… also got an amazing deal (for Canadian standards), and 72 month 0% financing. Agree on a lot of your points… but after driving it for almost 2 weeks, I find it’s pretty efficient in mixed driving. Only had to charge it only once at work (I get free level 2 charge there) and have been recouping a lot on my drive and just trickle charge at home… nice! In Vancouver we have some of the highest gas prices in North America 😮, so it’s already proving a great choice. Thanks for the content, just subscribed!

Honestly, I'm getting this car because of a multitude of reasons: While I can't really charge from home atm, the infrastructure in my area has chargers costing you only for the time you are parked there rather than how much power you charge, or downright free, which is a massive $60-ish I no longer have to waste on fuel compared to my ICE car. Good for going towards my car payment.(Especially since I can't trust Gas prices to stay at reasonable prices, like when the pandemic struck.) The EV tax credit makes this car the cheapest AWD E-SUV in my area(on top of my dealership having a discount because it's sitting there for a decent amount of time), compared to other choices that are 50K because the manufacturer can't apply for it or 60K because they're too expensive. When winter comes, and I have to drive late at night very often, having AWD to save me the traction trouble is very important. The infotainment system here is as you've reviewed, big, responsive and imo simple to navigate. Even after I test drove this thing once, it wasn't hard to pick up what I would want to mess around with and other things I can just one and done with. As an Android user that's never experienced Android Auto, this google OS this car has doesn't seem to be lacking anything, if I want a GPS I can use it, if I want to play my own songs just bluetooth it through. Not only that, it has a decent amount of mechanical buttons for the AC, from vents to windows. Subscription wise, while I hate it, my dealership is offering the deal for onstar and car internet thing for 8 years free, so long after I've done my car payments, I can easily decide at that point if I care for onstar and/or car internet, which is much better than other places like toyota and like 2 subscriptions going for like $45/month, with no free trial. Also for speed, I don't really care. I found zero issues getting up to speed, and I still haven't found myself hitting the zap all the way. This is a car, on a public road, it doesn't need to inflict G-forces like an astronaut training simulator. Towing package, it's kinda alright. I mean I don't really have that much use for it, but should I have to move or get things to or from storage, being able to have even a small box trailer from U-Haul would save me a bunch of trips. The Trunk has a pleasantly large space, but that under-compartment is even better. Being able to hide all my important things from charger cords to windshield wiper fluids makes for keeping that large trunk area nice and clear. Very good for my costco runs with their comically large boxes. Frunks are cool, but I wouldn't pay more for it. I already am getting an SUV in the first place, so it's whatever. But I do love the plastic shell that basically child-proofs all the overwhelming details. like I don't need to think to hard to find where the cap is for windshield wiper fluid, nor would emergency services if they had to cut power to my vehicle as shown in a compartment with a fire dep. helmet. It also kinda serves the purpose of keeping any small critters from climbing into the engine bay and nibbling on cords, which would screw things up Also, in response to that Tesla Model Y, absolutely not. I've seen my fair share of dashcam videos, and while Tesla's *are* safer and that APR is deliciously low, I am not that rich enough for a passerby to key my car and leave me with a $5000+ repaint job for a 7 inch key scratch. Tesla's are notorious for being EXTREMELY EXPENSIVE to repair, and take VERY LONG periods of time to get spare parts to have jobs done. It doesn't help only Tesla is authorized to fix Tesla's. I don't care how much more advanced and cheap Tesla's may be, but I am not gambling my literal life on a single incident pricing me out of repairing my car, and god forbid insuring it because how expensive repairs are for tesla's. Regen braking is a bit iffy. As someone that prefers getting up to speed then setting cruise control, I found myself fighting the auto-regen braking as soon as I let off the zap pedal for even a micro second. But the gap setting and auto braking when approaching a stop light is very nice(though I assume this is normal for cars nowadays), I will be changing that regen to activate only with the button when I get the car tho I guess I agree with the false engine noise, for something that plays specifically inside the cabin I'd just turn that off. If the car has a minimum engine noise then it does, no need to disturb my or others' ears for that. Edit: I will add though I am rather displeased with adding a motor to the Charger port door. I don't like the idea of one day coming in for a charge and realizing I'm now on a timer because the motor responsible for opening the port is broken, and I have to bring the car to a dealership/mechanic ASAP so I dont have the car die on me. TLDR: Like most electric cars, it is situational if it will work out better for you compared to ICE, whether it's the model, brand or the infrastructure in your area. IMO, this is the best model I'd go for, especially since I'm trading in a 2011 chevy impala, making this an entire Era's worth of an upgrade

@yojoe48302 ай бұрын
Yes, I'd get it. Charging speed is not an issue for the vast majority of people, since most folks don't go on road trips as often as the minority would have you think; charging at home at night, you're asleep or chilling. Speed? Most folks who are grown don't races, so 0-60 in the RS trim is more than enough. Boy races will be disappointed with almost every mass market car. The price, as you said, is coming down, so not an issue. To the folks who whine about 'no Android auto/no Car Play', so what...there's better and it's called "Google". So, if the no android auto, etc., is a deal breaker, you were never going to buy this car anyway, so your opinion matters not.

The Frunk blocks the air flows to the AC condenser reduces the AC performance of the car.

@St_JohnYam_Steve3 ай бұрын
Putting the ac condenser at 30 degree with road because of the Frunk will traps the leaf and many others. There is no way it will work as well as 90 degree allows maximum air pressures to the condenser while the car is moving. Just basic physics, little kids understand that. I didn’t say it not going to work but it is not going to work as well, because the system cannot move the heat as fast as having the ac condenser in front of the car.

@@St_JohnYam_Steve that is alot of writing you have here but the plain fact the GM heat pump works very well in the heat of the summer and dead of winter. The battery temputure management is a winner.

@@kelviskelvis7140 I am totally agree, I am not talking about GM their ac work fantastically well, works way better than any ICEs, and EVs that I ever try it. At 120F outside the air that come out from the vent could freeze your arm that how well it works. There are some cars that trying to put the frunk into a small car that already had a tight space in the front that what I am talking about. For the truck is different story you got space, sure you can put the frunk in the front wouldn’t matter.

Still plenty of logistics problems with EV vehicles - I live at an apartment so I have no place to recharge one. Maybe price isn't a barrier because I'd spend $10k in gas over 10 years anyway, vs $5000 to charge it. So as long as an electric equivalent isn't more then $5k greater to buy than the gas version, then EVs aren't more expensive (oh, Blazer EV is $15k more expensive? Ha). Disposal of the battery or how it responds to getting wet in an accident or flood is also a concern. I'd worry about range too, especially if I'm taking a long driving vacation.
@Ryctor073 ай бұрын
You'll save on other costs of living with an EV over ICE, more than just gas. And you'll save a ton more on gas if you manage to get home charging. Water shouldn't be an issue for the battery pack. The other electronics will almost certainly get ruined before the battery pack. As for range, I was worried about it when I first bought my used EV, but it really isn't an issue unless you're traveling 100's of miles into the wilderness. The Department of Energy has a charging station map and it's actually crazy how many charging stations are already out there!
