Wife has a 24 Equinox Ev 2LT AWD and I love that vehicle. I think it looks great and is comfortable and I love driving it. The sunroof is an option but wasn’t available initially with the early models. Volume controls on the back of the steering wheel also. Interior looks great lit up at night

Those blue latches on the rear seats are two lock points so you can have the seat more upright or reclined while still being secure.
@Nebula170113 күн бұрын
The larger wheelbase in the Blazer allows for larger Motors for AWD and the SS Trim, also allows for the larger 12 Module battery while the Equinox only has enough for the 10 module.

I did the same. Traded a 22 Bolt EUV that was the best car I ever owned and I loved! Thought for sure the Blazer would further improve upon what I loved about the EUV. I picked up my 2024 Blazer EV RS RWD Wednesday and it had a critical high voltage battery fault on the drive home and bricked. I've driven my brand new car less than 20 miles. It's been at the dealership ever since.

Didn’t come with wireless phone charge, folding side mirrors, rain sensing wipers, dual climate control, no air flow seats, heated seats only up front, driver seat only powered, turn signal lights on side mirrors. I did a 2 year lease and don’t plan to keep it. But may purchase a newer one after lease is up.

I would definitely choose the Equinox over the Blazer. Though, I'm waiting for the Optiq! When that comes out, I would love to see you do another direct comparison like this with Optiq and Lyriq. Also, in some respects, I feel you should do a short drive test. Build quality, which is what you're doing here, is really felt while driving. Sqeaks, rattles, and stiffness all speak directly to build quality.
@Andre-cj3ec11 күн бұрын
I own the Equinox. Had considered the Optiq. If the Optiq interior is comparable to the current ICE Cadillac SUV, it's reasonable to expect that the interior and sound system of the Cadillac will be superior
@Andre-cj3ec11 күн бұрын
Squeaks, rattle & stiffness. I had a loaner ICE 2023 Blazer while servicing my Equinox EV. IMO, the Equinox is superior. Also, handling of the AWD Equinox EV was more enjoyable than handling of the ICE Blazer and, obviously, the EV was much quieter

Thanks a lot for the video. I was looking for this. I was thinking that the Blazer is a bigger vehicle overall from a safety point of view, but I am nof sure if the difference is big. Btw, did you get a chance to test the base stereo system in both these vehicles? Are they any different?

Great reviews! Would like to see a 2025 Equinox EV LT (+ Convenience Package) vs 2024 ID.4 Pro/Pro S comparison, at similar price points. Also, with VWs "stop sale" as of November, I think VW will have some nice discounts when the ID.4 emerges, making pricing even more competitive with '25 Equinox EV.
@Andre-cj3ec11 күн бұрын
I own an Equinox 3LT. The interior is OK, but I often get the feeling that Chevrolet interiors materials are a bit cheap. My assumption is that this is for diffentiation with Cadillac. Kia/Hyundai are not as nice as Genesis, but they provide better value interiors for their price. It feels like Chevrolet deliberately cheapens their materials to justify the extra expense of the Cadillac. I'm happy with my Chevy, but agree GM should invest a bit more on interior materials
@Wittstock9913 күн бұрын
I traded my MYP for a Blazer RS and love it - some much nicer than the Tesla! The Blazer looks better, has more room and is overall better than the EQ - Who cares about the material - you don't touch that stuff at all.

Why build two cars so similar. GM needs to make up their mind and be much more intentional with their car releases. Just like the bolt and bolt EUV there is no reason to have all this choice. Find the slice of the market you want and go after it!!!! There is a reason why the Model Y is the best selling car worldwide.

I did think the backseat of the Blazer was much larger when we tried it, but yeah outside of that very little difference. I feel like it would make more sense if more of the Blazer trims got the bigger battery. As it is the only one that does is the RS RWD.

@@dennisknehans3206 They aren't cheap at all, if you're getting some options and not just metal-plastic box on the wheels. The trims are not that complicated.. .LT.. 2LT , 3LT. RS.. etc. The map pockets.. well.. from the driver seat you cant reach behind to your own seat and get anything out.. the passenger side is usually where the pocket is better placed.. or have both. It was strange the Equinox had both and Blazer did not. But could be LT vs 2LT trim. I agree.. why do they have both of these when they are so similar. They did the same with the Bolt EV and EUV. 6 inches longer car... with only 3 inches more interior. WHY.. just make the EUV.. and not have two cars. Don't care about cheap felling plastics.. I will never touch.. like the top dash cover... BTW the thing you mentioned about heads up display.. but not That is the emergency brake warning.. they work VERY well.. It reflects onto the window and beeps... and will stop the car.. have it on my Bolt.. works great. Was impressed by the exterior build.. Looks nice. But I would get a Model Y for that money... but GM often has big discounts.

@Longsnowsm13 күн бұрын
With GM the devil is in the trim level details. At the LT trim level they are not considered premium, but sadly even if you step up into the nicer trims it still feels utilitarian or to use your term rental car. If they get the prices down they will be fine regular vehicles for normal consumers. But not at those retail prices. Lots of hard plastics, piano black, seats are not great. Would be fine if you were talking about a 20-30k car, not a 50k+ car. Have to remember apples to apples comparisons. I am a little confused on the sizing of the Equinox vs Blazer. One would assume the Blazer is a mid size larger vehicle, but I have seen others compare them and say they are basically the same size. Very odd. The bad part is when you combine charging speeds and the GM charging dip issues. It isn't a great charging vehicle. In EV's that really becomes the bottom line , how good is the charging speed and software integration.

Not sure about US pricing, but if you want a reasonably equipped roomy AWD EV in Canada, the Equinox is the best value around. Here, the Model Y, which is a great car, will cost much more. The Equinox is closer in price to the Kona, which is considerably smaller and does not offer AWD
