As a former multiple Mustang GT owner, the interior is cheap, yes, but the engine and drivetrain are bullet proof when maintained properly. With that being said, I would not own anything newer than newer than a 2020. Funny you made the comment of a 1998 GT. I owned a 98 cobra coupe. Loved it. @tenpoundburritoАй бұрын
The Mustang is a lot cheaper here in America than in Europe (probably thanks to the big tariffs on imported cars from America). Here, you could get the fastback with the V-8 like you mentioned for just under $43,000, which comes out to roughly £33,000. If you wanted the smaller, more ecotax-friendly four-cylinder twin turbo, you could get it for £24,500 after exchange rate. To put that into perspective, that's a rear-wheel drive, two-door sporty car with over 300 horsepower for £4,000 less than a new Focus hatchback and even slightly less than the new Vauxhall Astra's lowest-priced model. You can tell the money went into the engine, chassis, and styling instead of the interior.

All the USA cars that i have owned have left me feeling that whilst they look good on the outside at a distance, move closer and the iffy quality starts to show, when you move inside, then you instantly know that it won't last long. Here in the UK they make little sense even in RHD form, but in the USA with it's higher wages and lower prices then if you can live with cheap plastic they make more sense. My advice is try before you buy, hiring one is the best way of making a wise choice.

I rented the previous model in June this year and agree with your review. It was clearly built down to a price - the spade handle roof catch is just ridiculous. My rental car had about 40k miles on it, and the wear and tear on the interior showed every mile. It didn't have the huge touch screen yours did, so most of the switches were old-school, but their paint finish was wearing off them. The USB connector on the dash was awkward to use and - likely as a result - didn't work properly (but the one in the centre console worked fine). I got better MPG than you (30.5 per US gal overall), but used it almost exclusively out of town in California for three weeks...

Quality-wise, the 2019 car was much better than the one you have reviewed (and there was no stupid touch screen). I was also disappointed with the performance, the Coyote is too top-endy and lacks low down torque - I blame the flat plane crank design. Where I’m at the used ones aren’t much cheaper, sure you may save 6-8k but the interest rate for used cars vs new cars is double. So at the end of the day the payment on the used car and new car is almost the same.

You are splitting hairs here, come on where else you get a V8 for the price of a hatchback? The world needs cars like that, not everything needs to be wrapped in leather and wood.

Yep.

@@sarwat18 A far superior car however. Audi build quality is light years ahead of Ford !

Hi Matt, was looking at a 2016 UK spec GT and the interior was far better quality than that brand new one. Would the new ones coming here be getting the same crappy interior? The last time i was in the States i rented a 2022 Chevy Suburban which was top of the range and tell you what, if the sold right hand drive ones in the UK i would buy one, it was fantastic and was full of kit, well screwed together and i got an average of 21MPG! Great video, enjoy your trip to LA!👍👏👏♥️🏴🇺🇸

Remember it isn't an expensive car. I want the manual handle for the roof. I would prefer the Mazda MX5 Miata top. Put it in drag strip mode! I've rented several over the years. I didn't like the size.

'Seems like a pretty good summary. At the end of the day it IS a mustang but even then, £60k is way too steep.

The previous version was better looking, and the interior also seemed better

Maybe if it had the 10 speed box it would feel quicker

The rear seating room is less than my wife’s GR Yaris. How did they manage that in such a big car.

I think you'd need to live in Venezuela, where gas is around £0.20 per gallon, to make sense of this.

In Australia you can buy a 2025 GT hardtop for $87500 aud drive-away!! They come fully loaded and registration charges are based on weight so are minimal over standard pricing approx. $1050aud total- yearly All Mustangs are highly optioned here and come standard with: 10 speed auto or 6 spd manual Quad exhaust system with Active valve bi modal performance exhaust with four selectable modes Unique 19x9-inch (front) and 19x9.5-inch (rear) alloy wheels - Carbonised Grey Quality Pirelli P Zero tyres Brembo™ Brakes with red callipers Sports lowered suspension set up Fit and finish on the exterior has improved considerably, but interior quality is average when compared to the Euros But a similar performance Euro eg M4 or RS5 you are paying double. Ford offer a 5 year comprehensive bumper to bumper warranty including anything in the interior.!! How do I know all this? I own one.
