I switch now from my old Pixel 6pro to 9pro (not XL).
@sh0rt3d363 ай бұрын
I pre ordered the 9 pro xl. I'm a 7 pro right now. The thing i'm looking forward to most is the new form factor. I love the flat edges, and flat screen. I'm also curious to see what the updated color grading will look like. 16gb of ram will be nice as well as the vapor chamber. I'm not too critical on the battery as long as I get about a day's worth of charge before I need to charge for the night I don't care too much. The thing I'm most worried about is the G4 chip. I don't really have any performance gripes with my current phone, but it would be cool to see an improvement in speeds. Qualcomm, apple, intel, amd all have some really crazy chips I'm curious to see what google brings to the table. We're on the edge of a processor war. Companies like qualcomm are really stepping up what they can package into a small form factor chip.
@onlinecomment3 ай бұрын
It’s not the chip you should be worried about. It’s the modem. And Google chips run on samsung/Google crossbreed exynos modem. Next year they will hard-launch their own modem, so it’s terrifying to think how the previous models with work given their focus will shift on in-house compatibility long-term. And also, depending where you live - connection quality, call quality, battery drain. There are no long-term reviews on that yet. The phone looks cute though!

Hey Bud, came across your channel about a year ago and have thoroughly enjoyed your content. Ty for sharing your knowledge and unbiased opinions. As a Longtime Pixel (Og Pixel XL - 3XL - 6Pro) it was def time for a much needed upgrade. Best Buy had some good deals, however i had previously purchased a Pixel from them and when I had issues they basically wiped their hands clean and said Thxx for your $$ 😡. Even Google couldn't help back it was considering 3rd party. Fortunately Google's trade-in value is really Generous, plus the rebate is great incentive. My only Gripe /disappointment is thet the 9 doesn't get the year of Advanced Gemini (which the Pro/ProXL) do . Which is a value of around $300. Anyways Im rambling 🤭🤭 TY again for the great work and content 🫡😎🥂

Great breakdown of the changes in the Pixel 9 range. Something that's often overlooked in a majority of these breakdown videos is the better display across the whole range. Not just high peak and sustained brightness across the whole range but the Pro models only, as far as I know are using the latest Samsung M14 panel OLEDs that no other phone is currently using and the only other phone said to be having them will be the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max phones and the S25 Ultra and apart from the boost in brightness, they are much more energy efficient which should translate to better battery life and less heat generated to the whole phone.

It dims the brightness really low and I have got more temperature warnings than any phone I've used in the last 5 years. My 13 pro was down to only 95 percent In the same period. And what's with Gemini? I prefer google assistant. From what I see Gemini is use for are for college students. I just need an assistant to help me with simple task or answer. But second, regarding the chaos and drama. This #teampixel stuff was a bit dramatic for sure but not related to the hardware itself, which to me looks promising so I think it’s not difficult to separate the two. But also the pixel community can be a bit vocal at times as well and when people have bad experiences that’s what you hear about. I’ve had good experiences and I like a lot of things Google is doing so if people are interested it’s something worth taking a look at, especially when we don’t have many Apple alternatives here in the US

@Conannnnn First off, mobile gaming is good for emulation and on the go gaming. Better to bring a phone thst can play games and display them on a flat-screen rather than to drag around a huge console. No change in performance. Don't fathom why my 5 was superior and why do I care about AI features if the phone can't function the way it should? I am upgrading from my P8 to a P8 pro b/c I got a $500 (Canadian) discount via Best Buy on the device brand new. After I sell my P8, I'll have spent only a few hundred to upgrade whereas for me to get the 9 pro I'd have to sell my P8 and spend an extra $1000 out of pocket and that's just not a deal for me.

I've often come to the crossroads of tech. Do I pick better hardware vs better software... qnap vs synology nas... or asus vs steamdeck? In my older age I appreciate better software. Hopefully Google can pull it off. I'll be getting a pixel 8 if they don't. I'll be enjoying the Google features for a year before I reflash to graphene OS and taking privacy seriously.

I'm keeping my phone for long time, so 7 years of update is no brainer for me. Pixel 9 Pro XL 1TB here in Sweden cost 20500SEK, that's $2000US 😂😂🤑🤑

I didn't care for Gemini until I saw a review on another channel. I don't know about this AI still but it looked pretty damn kool

Would you go for a pixel 9 or the pro ...I've a pixel 6 at the moment so looking to upgrade

I’m personally going for the Pro. I bought both though to test and make videos about but I want the smaller Pro

Fyi, there's a $350 store credit promo if you buy a pixel. Meaning you can still get a buds or watch for free

If you get the new phone 1 month before the software update comes, then you'll technically get only 6 years of software updates. Because the 7th update will come 1 month after their promise expires. That being said, people that will buy it later, will get the 7 updates and I doubt they wouldn't push one to your device, filtering out devices based on the purchase date. But let's see what happens in 2031...

I would say wait for the galaxy S2 five or just got a galaxy S2 four it’s a better device. Other than ram, but you can fix that by just getting the plus device or the bigger one.

Also noticed there is a saturation difference between the 9 and 9 pro models with the front face camera

Different cameras.

Yes I'm aware but I found it interesting that the uniformity aspect was different. Usually pixel tries to keep the same color profiles. I also tested them against a pixel 8 and the base model 9 was also more saturated than the 8 which uses the same sensor if I recall. So it's interesting to see. @@TechOdyssey

I believe the pixel 9 will have auto focus where the pixel 8 series did not.

I read that starting from 256gb on the Pros it's UFS 4.0

It’s possible. I haven’t read that yet but I’ll keep looking

Not enough people are talking about the base Pixel 9. I preordered one and i am highly disappointed based off my time with it at best buy. The display wasnt smooth even with the setting turned on and it felt noticeably cheaper than the pro models
@amerikanongsiklista3 ай бұрын
they said the pixel 9 pro has ufs 4.0 they just didnt put it on the website because most 128gb ones and 256gb ones are using the 3.1 ufs storage ones while the 512gb and 1tb ones uses a 4.0 ufs one. someone from reddit did the test on it and posted it there. i hope you do your due research first before you say stuff without any proof.

You think it’s worth the upgrade from an iPhone 13 Pro Max? Was looking at the P9Pro, or the S24 Ultra
@TechOdyssey3 ай бұрын
You could probably wait a few weeks until the iPhone 16 Pro comes out so you can look at all three and see the reviews for the Pixel 9 series and then make a fully informed decision.
@_WF233 ай бұрын
@@TechOdyssey I appreciate that, but I’m done with buying an iPhone for now. They all appear to feel the same. I’m still going to keep my iPhone for a few more yrs as backup. I want an android again ..
@TechOdyssey3 ай бұрын
@@_WF23 that’s fair. I would say wait until the full reviews come out. I haven’t got mine yet so I can’t test it but the embargo will likely lift on the 20th which will still give you a day or two to preorder after getting more detailed info on the phones. But likely both will be solid phones.
