Samsung actually listens to their consumers (mostly) so they have no fear and Apple is terrified of another PR crisis like with the phone throttling or being accused of trying to monopolize accessories. I will say this is a first from Google I think. The newest iteration of this device must have them a bit worried if they are resulting to what is basically guerilla tactics in marketing. It's a disgusting practice and can do some serious harm to consumer trust, but it happens a lot. We just aren't always aware of it because someone is always on someone else's payroll so they stay quiet. Anything to make a buck.

Pixel 9 was launched with Android 14. This means the 7-year OS upgrade puts the Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 in the same league. Can you tell me why Google is doing this? Clearly, Google cannot keep its 7-year update policy.

Until they have an SOC comparable to the iPhone and Galaxy's, they can't ask that kind of price for a phone with an SOC from like 2021. My Pixel 8 Pro is laggy, slow and overheats too often for a flagship phone. I love the camera, software and intelligence this phone offers but it's not worth $1,099 for 128 GB. To really bribe you tech KZbinrs into giving them preferential treatment is asinine! Make the best, most competitive product you can and let those results speak for themselves. Google doesn’t expect you to pay full price for the new pixel 9s. Thats why trade in deals are actually insane right now. $799 for an iPhone 12/13? Who’s gonna give you that much money for a used base iphone. iPhones have been the same phone for the last 6 years and they have increased prices and on top of that their trade in deals are absolute crap for their own phones. Yet nobody bats an eye and shells out the money for it. Doesn’t matter that they have the bionic chips when all that power is basically wasted. Samsung has also increased prices and it’s like nobody is batting an eye. The whole titanium build crap is a gimmick and not worth the price increases. Right now a 128gb 8gb ram base s24 is $799. The only meaning difference between them charging $799 and google charging $799 is the SOC which the average consumer will not notice a difference in daily use.

@@monke4070 good points made💯. There's just been too many issues with recent Pixels that aren't an issue with Apple especially. Bluetooth, crappy modems, overheating issues and poor gaming performance. To a lot of people, those are issues that can be a deal breaker. As much as I prefer android, iOS on a modern iPhone is just too refined, especially with the best SOC on the market and hardware that is just plain superior to anything Google offers. I don't count Samsung because I hate them as a company and their skin of android sucks for me.
