Hey man, great video I also started on a fz-07 in 2018 with almost no motorcycle experience and I think I couldn't have bought a better first bike for myself. One thing I didn't notice you mention about this bike is the horrendous drive train lag. Maybe Yamaha made it better over the years ( my bike is a 2015 ) but as a learning rider the volatility of the engine braking and drive train lag made for some interesting moments in low speed corners trying to roll on and off the throttle in a corner without using the clutch resulted in a jolty and scary experience. This bike forced me to learn many advanced riding techniques that I think made me a far better rider. Using trail braking to control the bouncy suspension and getting the suspension load just right through tough corners is such a rewarding experience. A great learner bike but also demands respect. I know you will enjoy this machine and all it has to offer. Have fun and be safe

bought a ‘19 MT07 after riding dirt bikes for years and i absolutely LOVE IT!!! super fun bike. and definitely fast enough to keep up with traffic. top speed is about 140. but it has so much top end power it’s unreal for the bike’s frame size.

The bike is shit on the top end. Look at the torque numbers on a Dino. My 2019 is the craziest at 7000

i got my 22 MT 07 last Aug 5th & now have a bit over 1,100 miles & have done several mods....but still haven't taken the sticker off the tank.....haha....but i will now....thanks for reminding me....

​@@SlowlaneMedia you have to heat up the sticker with a hair dryer then peel it off. And the sticky residue you can remove with WD-40

Not just yet! I plan on sending my ECU in to 2 wheel dynoworks but I have not done it yet

Yeah the engine braking needs to go especially if you want to stunt the bike. Im really hoping to tune with make the throttle smoother on and off

They are stock bars. I loosened the clamp and rotated them forward to give them some height and then rotated my controls back and it made a huge difference for my wheelies! If youd like to subscribe I will be making more content of the MT07 soon!

How do you stall out in a corner do you not power through

Great question! The big corners never gave me any trouble, however slow speed corners for instance turning around in a parking lot or a similar situations is where it would happen. I would try and turn around without having my feet down or covering the clutch and the engine speed would drop too low and stall before I could grab the clutch and since I was already leaned turning the weight of the bike just would fall over. Fortunately I was able to catch it before it slammed the ground but I would still have to set it down due to the weight

@@SlowlaneMedia on slow corners like that I’m usually slightly on the clutch while lightly breaking the my back breaks. It really gives me control of the bike but I’ve never ridden that bike I might be missing something.

Man tbh I don't believe it had much to do with the bike itself. It was more due to my inexperience. I've ridden dirt bikes as a kid but this was my first motorcycle so it took me a second to learn how to deal with the weight
