The correct answer is yes. I've owned so many fun Japanese vehicles. Eclipse, talon TSI, 300z, mark 3 Supra, bugeye WRX wagon, Volkswagen Jetta with vr6 swap, Evo 8, 4th gen Celica, FD rx7, Cressida, and on and on. And still the 92 Integra LS with the b18c5 swap was so much fun!!! Not my favorite, but a blast to drive every time!!!

@V0SS_ The mark3 supra was my favorite. A 12 second Supra. Well 12:9 and I daily drove it. Took girls to our prom In it. Took my kids mother street racing for our first date and blew the doors off a 3 series BMW, civic si, and eclipse gsx that night. Most wrench time spent on that car. Swapped and built the motor multiple times. Worked on it with my father who passed away and my step father who's very old now. Holds the greatest place in my gear shaped heart!

@walterhartwellwhite346 I hustled my ass off. My side hustles had side hustles. I swapped and sold parts, had friends do mechanic work and I'm a carpenter so traded work on their houses and their parents hoses for welding work and things I didn't know. Then eventually learned to do 90% of the work myself. At one point I was working at a taco bell, all state insurance and cleaning up construction sites on my weekends. And invested wisely. Now I'm 40, building my Hilux, motor swapping a geo metro just because, I have a sleeper HHR with an ss motor, and building a 2000 4runner for the miss. I watch the local public car auctions to flip cars. I do this on 8 acres of ocean front property in northwest Washington. And it's all because of my car dreams. Move with a purpose. Never lose sight of your passion, and never give up on building the cars and life you want. I watched 99% of my friends quit or say they were growing up. And 99% of them wish they still did what I did.

For those interested in a integra for non drag purposes listen up. Wider wheels/tires, adjustable coilovers, adjustable upper control arms front and rear, and rear subframe braces with larger rear sway bar and links. Just doing these mods will take a integras handling from amazing to extraordinary. Out of everything I have driven my gs-r is the most fun I have ever had. Its primarily got suspension mods and besides that I have full exhaust and a k&n cone filter. Its no faster than a stock gs-r. With decent driving competence if you leave out straight-aways and pick a good curvy road or track not many will catch you.

I have a 2000 db8 integra in voltage blue I bought new off the showroom floor back then. Has some wear and tear but I recently restored it slightly modified with the jdm front end conversion. Then my brother has a white 94 dc2 which has been sitting for awhile with everything intact but just in need some loving. I snatched that up from him and that one is also in the works of restoration too. I love the fact that on some days when I'm working out in the garage, the neighborhood kids who had no idea what these cars are will come up and say "I like your cars". That always brings a smile for me.

3:20 to help reinforce the argument that the first car you should work on is a Honda is true i started on a LS400 with a huge quad cam over engineered V8 and i regret it in a way i love it but i really am looking into a Integra now because working on any Honda has been so easy and it really helps you learn the basics so when you get a different car that might not be as simple that experience from a Honda will transfer over to that other car.

Civic and Integra share the same underpinnings like suspension and chassis. Many parts are interchangeable like rear disc brake conversion from integra to Civic. ( SI Civics have the same rear disc brakes from factory) both Civic and Integra should handle the same. If a Civic (esp 5th gen) doesn't have a rear stabilizer bar then the after market has like a million and a half different ones to choose from. Both cars are going to handle the same.

@sheldonlamey7010
@sheldonlamey7010 Жыл бұрын
@@SK-tr1wo TYPE R is nice but since there are less numbers people try not to mod them as much, they try to preserve all the original parts ( even with little bolt ons here and there) the GSR can be kept stock too but is the one that gets modded more( they made more of them) you can buy a GSR and use the rest of the money to get a low mileage JDM GSR engine as a backup. A compression test on the USDM car you're buying is a smart idea too look up what the compression supposed to be before buying. The JDM engines are low mileage and are best for long term daily driving. They have less miles than USDM even US junk yard engines because Japanese don't drive as much long distance. Everything will be based on mileage of the car you purchase Under 170K miles would be best the lower the better. Un modded one owner is the best. Don't expect miracles though these cars existed for a long time and multiple generations have beaten on them and desired them it depends on maintenance of the engine. service records with the car is a good sign. People promote the integra on social media a lot and the teg has a more sporty design so it draws people more. Personally I prefer the design of the 5th and 6 gen Civic Coupes but to each their own. Check out Collector car feed's YT channel to give you some ideas and Fitment industries has a video on the integra too.

@Jackson-ol5xt

I have an automatic 99 GS integra. The automatics are generally in much better shape than the manuals since they aren’t as sought after, and they are much easier daily drivers because of the automatic. The automatics on them are not know for their reliability, so if it ever breaks down, you can always swap in a manual transmission for pretty cheap, and the money spent to do so is added directly to the value of the car if you ever decide to sell it. I think either could be a good choice, but I wouldn’t want to daily a manual.

They are really nice cars I think they are even lighter and rearer than Marks Integra. Tuning wise should be very tunable see Honda tech and other forums the code name for that car is DA. @sheldonlamey7010 Жыл бұрын
@@oklo0315 absolutely one key element of how much power the engine can handle is how thick the connecting rods are I heard that the B18B1 can handle 350 HP that's the limit so the B18A1 ( very similar to the B1) should be able to handle the same. I would start at 250 and work my way by retune after a while to 300HP and leave it there for. precaution. I also would not be an idiot and bang off the rev limiter and treat the engine well have fun but don't try to show off or mishandle the engine. Remember these engines handle power because they were over built but still were not designed for turbo applications. 300 seems ok though that what Japanese tune to back in the 90s from the shelf turbo kits and Japanese tend to mod engines a little under the limit japs love balance over big horse power. If you want more power I would build the internals with forged parts and block guard so you can push it more it all depends on your budget the tuner and how you are going to use the car. Remember that there's no reliability guarantee on fully built engines Honda put more $ in research and development for their factory engines so stock or close to stock will always last longer.👍🏾🔰🏎️

Naturally aspirated (aka NA) builds may work out different from what I said previously you'll spend more to get 250-300 but NA has no lag....power is instant,as opposed to turbos. Turbos have improved turbo lag wise but there's a minute amount of lag. NA is fun too most people add nitrous to the build to get more power with more research you'll see what you like and what you want.
