My problem with schedule recording with this is that I will have to leave the source on 24/7 to record a one-hour show daily.

Lets say I am watching the news on one channel and I scheduled this divice to record a program on another channel,do I have to switch to the channel that is to be recorded?Would this device record a reacuring series on a device like a fire stick while I am watching programing on another divice ,like say my cable box?

I have two questions about this device. 1. Will it work with an HDMI Switch Box? I only have one HDMI port on my TV, so I have my Cable Box, Blu-Ray Player, and Fire TV Stick connected to an HDMI Switch Box and that is connected to my TV. So, would I be able to go "HDMI Out" of the switch box, to "HDMI In" of the ClonerAlliance Box, and then "HDMI Out" of the ClonerAlliance Box to "HDMI In" of my TV. If I can do that, I would be able to use anything connected to the Switch Box as the Source going in to the ClonerAlliance Box. 2. Are the HDMI ports on the ClonerAlliance Box, passthrough ports? Suppose I only want to watch Cable (with the above setup from Question #1) and I don't want to record anything. To do that, would the ClonerAlliance Box still have to be powered on, or could it be off and still allow me to watch content, but obviously not record anything (unless I turned it on).

Is there a timer function available? I'd like to start it recording from my camcorder (home movies) and then stop recording automatically after say, 120 minutes.

Like Ismael below, I also get no sound most of the time when I record a scheduled recording. If I just hit record without scheduling anything, that normally works fine and does have sound or if I record something for like 30 min, I usually get sound but if I record a 4 hour golf tournament, I usually get NO sound. Any thoughts? Thx.

Hmmm, that might be something to do with the file format for larger recordings. I'm sorry I have no more useful info. Have you tried contacting Cloner support, they're pretty good.

well I, My Dad, My Brother and my best friend has had one of these since 2017. We Record anything and everything, BUT we did notice we had to buy a cheap $30 HDMI switcher to bypass any HCDP. Thats so you can use your DVD, blu ray player hooked up to it, or any signal producing a HCDP signal. We all have those HDMI switchers installed, so we record ANYTHING we want, no matter what it is. I have about a 1 in 6 failure rate of a corrupt recording each to I try a long recording with it plus 90min, I have software that will correct the corrupted file. I find it easier to use fat32 with 2gb recorded files, more stable recordings and easier just to correct 1 - 2gb file than an entire 8 to 13gb single file using NTFS. I use a 128gb USB 3.0 Samsung flash drive. I have tried many of these and even though its not perfect its the most stable and trouble free on I have ever used. I only use it now 3-4x a year, but it works and records each time I need to. Its great when you buy a HD recording from Amazon prime and need a backup of it for your own records.
