I have it, works great. Yes it is at times difficult to alighn and mate with the charging element contacts on the docking station but it works great and prevents it from overcharging. you get what you pay for and overall I am very pleased with it for the money you cant beat it. Semper fi

I just plug it into any USB C cable. Been doing that for years with my DS4's and no issue. I also bought magnetic USB C caps and use magnetic cables to just easily snap them on

But then your controllers are still just laying around. I don't want that, I want them kept up and neat.

Does anyone know if leaving the controller sitting on a charging station all of the time (even after it achieves a full charge) will hurt the battery long term? I’ve heard differing guidance and opinions on the matter. Also not just for ps5 but also other popular controllers?

It depends on the charger itself. Some will stop when controllers are 80% charged, some don't stop at all and constantly trickle charge which is bad

If you're going to charge 2 controllers at once the dual USB A cable will actually charge fastet

@@shaynumclaynum No, don't overcomplicate this. The dual USB is to plug into the PS5 itself, not a wall outlet, that's it. If you are going to use just a separate AC power supply, just use a single USB A to USB-C

my only issue also with this is it isnt easy do dock but i dont mind for 12 dollars vs 40 dollars? hard to beat. ican buy another controller with the difference

What kind of power adapter can I use? I heard that using a fast charging adapter will ruin the battery life on the controllers, but is it safe to use my fast charging anker C type USB wall adapter? I don't just want to plug it in to my PS5 and only charge my 2 other controllers when I only turn on and play.

Does it fully charge to 100% or only to 70%? I got a ps5 base stand that has the charging and it says only up to 70% due to the IC chip of the controller for protection... Does the Sony dock charge to 100%?

It charges to 100%, but I know others do only charge to 70-80%

Whaat? I got the exact same OIVO station but it doesn't come with those cables. It only has one cable to connect directly to the wall socket. Does not include the C to C or A to C like that one

@@RoXolid yeah turns out they have different versions. Did not put attention to it. Anyway, do you think I should just use the usb-c cable that comes with the PS5? It is for the controller anyway, so I guess I can just connect it to the stand instead

I’m late to this post, just got my PS5 last Nov. YAY! I recently just bought this charger and with the power switch turned off, I set my controller on it (cause it looks cool) I noticed the lights pulsing on the Dualsense like it’s still charging?!? Any news on this? (I have it plugged into a u.s. outlet by the way if that helps )

That... that shouldn't be happening. I am half curious if there isn't a Shottke Diode in the wiring, which is allowing current to feedback from the controller INTO the base? Disconnect the base from power entirely and see what happens.

@@RoXolid Yup just got a new comic red controller today so I tested the theory. Whatever version I have you need to unplug for it to stop charging. All things considered I’m still happy with the purchase though.

Just put them in PlayStation docking charger station which I pay about 35$, also I use rechargeable battery for my DualSense's by third-party DOBE TP5-0550 (1500mAh) and that's a lot of faming with just one DualSense accessories... Only which I hate is that DualSense with protective silicone cover can't charge on PS station... But I find solution and buy KontrolFreek Grips and is fascinated accessories for gaming and so comfortably...

I don't like the Sony charging station. I feel like I have to fumble around with the controller to get it to sit in the base and charge proplerly. This is better, but there are still improvements over and beyond this.

Also on some third-party compatible SSD for PS5 stay this SSD like valid... I will say the KMD charging stand is by far my favorite. It's so user friendly and confidence-inspiring. I know it always is charging.

I haven't messed with any SSDs for the PS5 yet, I just have a 4TB WD external drive for my PS4 games and saves.

I use Sony's OEM charging dock cuz it's the best, I've tried the others as well, all Chinese lightweight, wanna be Sony charging dock, junk compared to Sony. Sony's separate power is great especially since you can't run the PS5 in rest mode at the moment so you would have to have your Console on to charge your controller via USB, controllers sit so well also, just set it and forget it, and if you think your missing out on charging lights don't worry on Sony's charger the controllers glow while they charge so your wrong when you say Sony's charging dock doesn't have charging notifications. The controllers just click when you set them on the dock, there's no fiddling around ever, they will always be charging wether the system is on or in rest mode or off, and the controllers pulse a mellow orange color until charged so you know when they are charging and when done. Hands down Sony nailed it, don't buy cheap knock offs, I did and regretted it, then I got Sony's and love it! Thanks!

The dock itself does NOT have any lights, the DOCK has 0-charging indicators. The LED strips around the touch pad are the only charging indicators, and they are rather small and faint. And I have had issues getting the pins on the charger aligned with the connectors on the DualSense, and have had times when I thought my controller was charging and it actually was not making contact. I'm glad you like the Sony charger, I am not a fan myself.
