Glad to know I'm not the only one who DOESN'T prefer dual climate systems. Just more complications and things to break over time. They also seem irrelevant when you can just, you know, close or open the air vents!

The SEL trim level is where the best value is. Not much of a step up in price but you get a lot of nice perks with it. After owning an SEL for three months now, as I watched this video I was really noticing the missing features I’ve gotten used to and love. Heated seats and mirrors, the extra drive modes, the digital dash display, and more. Both, the rear cross traffic alert and the blind spot warnings on my vehicle have already saved me from accidents. The sport drive mode seems to artificially add back the missing power when hauling people around as well by keeping it in lower gears for longer.

Thank you for reviewing a base model I ended up getting the SEL. But I appreciate you spending the time showing a lower trim. I reallt wish more of these reviews wouldnt focus on the less affordable models.

I don’t like how they took away blind spot warning and rear cross traffic alert from the se trim. I was wanting to buy a new one. Guess I’ll get a great price on a used 2019 se when I’m ready to buy.

This is one of the best {MID SIZE} CUV bargains on the market for the price.I bought the SEL model for a little more $$$$$. The car drives amazing even with some hard plastics. Base 2.4 engine is just fine for everyday driving. I test drove a new 2020 RAV4 and the S-F is much better in every way. Drive both and see for yourself !By the way the 8 spd non CVT trans is a real pleasure to drive.

Hello Road / Ethan Tufts maybe but they would lose me. I got the base model because it uses a normal key. I don’t like the idea of a push button start. I’m sure eventually I’ll come around but for now I want my key.

What is your full review of the seats and the infotainment display? Also, could you explain the cruise control not working on hills, which you mentioned at around 7:57.
@HelloRoad
@HelloRoad 4 жыл бұрын
The seats were decently comfortable. My wife didn't really like them that much, but they were fine. Middle of the pack. Infotainment is easy to use, but it definitely feels like a base model infotainment. Good all around though. Regarding the cruise-we would set a speed, say 65mph. If we were going up a hill, it would not maintain 65. It would slow down well below that speed. Once the road leveled out, it would creep back up to 65. Hope this helps.

@@HelloRoad I have a '19 SEL, and can confirm the cruise control issue. It doesn't like to downshift on its own at highway speeds. I got around it by "manually" downshifting when necessary. This only happened out west on the steep mountain roads, it does just fine in the flatter midwest.

Most people don't need all of the gimmicky stuff that comes on the top models. Most people don't use drive modes anyway. The only issue I would have is the driver's seat not being powered. I would probably go for the SEL. Seems a good compromise.

About the two hidden under rear cargo floor compartments: is there a structural beam protuberant from the metal floor pan between the two? ...cause I want to remove all the rear seats , foam trays & plastic to maximize cargo capacities and get the lowest cargo floor possible . Thks

You said the only way you could step up to three row was the Kia tell you ride or a Hyundai palisade what about the Kia Sorrento it’s standard three row
@HelloRoad
@HelloRoad 5 жыл бұрын
I didn't say the only way-there are plenty of 3-rows to choose from, including the Sorrento. I just suggested the Palisade and Telluride as they're both getting a lot of positive reviews. :)

@@HelloRoad My buddy bought a 20107 Santa Fe Sport In Guadalajara. We live 8 hours from there, so we drove it back. I was in the back seat. It had sport rims with low profile tires. I felt every bump and rock on that highway and my back was killing me when I got back. I don't understand why people are wanting bigger and bigger rims with lower profile tires. The ride is terrible.

The only thing this vehicle needs is a more powerful engine...wife just bought a 2020 just like this one. It’s decent. But not a highlander by no means. And I’ve noticed some wind noise by that little window when driving about 45 mph and higher . Kinda annoying

Hyundai offers the base Santa Fe in the line's full complement of exterior and interior colors (3 of the latter, black, beige/black, "espresso"/gray). Makes me wonder what made them pick the most boring color combo for the press fleet.

I've got my eye on one of these when my wife's 2017 Elantra lease is up. We've been buying Elantras new since 2005 and have been very impressed with their ease of service and bang for the buck. What did you think of interior noise while on the trip? I've found the Honda SUV's to be pretty loud inside, and our next car we want to have a very quiet interior.
@HelloRoad
@HelloRoad 5 жыл бұрын
Cabin noise seemed pretty low. Not as quiet as the Telluride I just reviewed, but it did seem a bit quieter than the CRV I test drove a few months back. We never noticed noise as being a problem on our road trip.

in my country you can't get an automatic with the base model... neither do you get electric mirrors, or electric handbrake .... i mean it's a good price if you get discounts and you can live without these things (and many others it doesn't bring) but 2020 and i don't get electric mirrors or front parking sensors on a 4.8 meters long SUV or electric handbrake.... may be there are better options for your money...

Good question. My guess is that it would be the same on base and top trims, but I can't confirm. I'm wondering if maybe the Santa Fe platform just has older tech? I'm not entirely sure.
