As long as you have a daily driver, the space for 2 cars and enough money to pay for insurance on 2 cars AND replacement parts/upgrades, why not? If any of those factors aren’t met, the answer (at least for me personally) is no. I had an 86 FC RX7 just like this. It was na, but it was my first and only car at the time. Sold it after I couldn’t take carpooling for months while I waited 2 months for backordered parts to arrive from Japan 3 times. Yes, I could’ve taken it to the Mazda dealership, but you’re paying a LOT more for that than if you install the parts yourself. AND very few budget minded independent shops will touch a rotary. Classic rotary parts have a huge premium price tag as well. I sold it a year and a half after buying it, and bought a new edge Mustang instead.

i just bought a cool car ive idolized, and my unconditional love for it made me slowly turn it into a restorative project to see and experience it as better than new.

Nice man. I like the vibe of this channel. I can relate to the anxiety of buying/fabricating parts. Then realized what a commitment a custom setup is.

To be fair I jumped off the deep end I got a e34 touring and a mustang 302ho with a small turbo to swap in its being used as a project car and a development car to make body panels, steering rack conversion parts, and a few other pieces and as a business show piece for the jobs and small business I have but that's just me personally
