All I don't mind doing is aesthetic mods. Never liked to mod for performance. That's for almost all my things, guns included. I respect all that I do, and I learned to appreciate that.

Sometimes it's best to just enhance the natural look of things slightly using better aesthetic pieces. It is surely a ton less money lol. I myself can respect a cleanly done slightly better aesthetic appearance vs a full widebody kit etc.

U definitely need the reliability mods and maybe a low tone exhaust. But without all the other mods, wrx/STI are great cars and a great DD. U just need to learn how to control yourself when driving.

The difficulties of making the descision, most of the time comes from financial concerns. (warranty is also finanicial concerns) The absolute priority here is NOT let the car become a financial disaster to you. If it's the only car you have, and you are still making payments for it. I would strongly advise not to mess with it. I knew those cars not depreciate much (sometimes appreciates) but the not moving/broken one is a different story. BTW great video!!

Yes this is very much correct. Highly advisable not to throw $$$ if it is still owned by the bank and/or robbing Peter to pay Paul for parts if other bills/life aspects aren't taken care of first. You are correct on the broken ones as well lol. As always a very insightful comment. I appreciate it.

I think you need to know cars somewhat well, have a good budget and good driving habits.

Budget before mods if you choose to do them is a very essential piece to the puzzle. Also, follow that with a fairly laid out (but changeable) plan. Knowledge of the platform is what I consider the starting point and great to have as you stated.

Great advice! I started going down that mod path and honestly, for me, the stage 1+ OTS wasn't a big enough change to be worth the risk. I ran it for a year and recently went back to stock. I found the OEM tuning on the 2019+ STI's to be decent and will stay stock now. I think doing the turbo upgrade, like you did, would be the way to go to experience a significant change as just tuning on stock hardware doesn't seem to be worth it.

Thank you for the honest words on the OTS stage 1+. Good information to have here in case someone stumbles upon it. In my opinion when mine was stock with just the AWE touring cat back I was happy with it. I just can't leave things alone lol I have to change things.

@@spdkills83 Yes! My upgrade to a Cobb CBE made the most significant change in the driving experience. It's so much more engaging being to hear that sweet rumble! Also, the lower power output of the stock EJ allows me to ring through the RPM range on the street without being dangerous and that is something I appreciate.

It is true sometimes I find it's more fun to rip on something slightly less powerful myself. That's why I ditched sport bikes and sport naked bikes and went the supermoto route. A ton of fun to rip on and it doesn't have take me to jail written on 1st gear full throttle pulls lol.

@@UpstateSTI My honest opinion on that setup is I wouldn't change to FMIC on just a Stage 1 setup. The stock TMIC is actually a pretty good unit. This is assuming you have a VA version TMIC. If you are going bigger down the road and will need the FMIC later on then it wouldn't be a bad idea to go ahead and do it.

@@UpstateSTI I misunderstood your question thinking you were thinking of buying that setup upgrading from stock. I apologize. If you've already been using the setup for 20K or so miles and are happy with your results then that is all that matters. I don't think you will really have any negative issues with that setup this far in. I'd say just keep on running it if it's treating you well and just keep up with the maintenance. Hopefully you can continue to enjoy it for many more miles.
