I'm thinking about starting up a venture online with customizable stuff like T-shirts, baseball caps, pens, coffee mugs and so on. I feel like the amount of traffic you get per listing is going to to be so tiny that you will need to list thousands of different items in order to see a few sales a day. I'm talking about using the main marketplaces to sell such as eBay, Amazon and Etsy.

me too, however i think people create a website and advertise it on facebook

Awesome! I've started making some mugs and playing around with GearBubble. Plan to try out some facebook ads and see where it goes. With a little luck I'll sell a few!
