Always do the filter caps and the two bias caps to the tubes and the one on the mini board. Then check all others for leaking. Clean pots ,jacks and sockets and good for another 20 years. Drifting resisters can be mojo! I'd have liked a good look inside!!

That 335 is sweet! The Bigsby makes it. I also have a 1965 Vibrolux Reverb. It is a great amp.

Should you service a 50 year old amp? HELL YES!!! If you neglect servicing, eventually those filter caps are going to short and quite possibly it's going to take out transformers when that happens. That will wreck the amp's collectibility.

I have a 65 BFVR as well...And play a 71 335 into it! It's my sound...... absolutely love it. Try some NOS TungSol 5881s in there and see what you think. Bit lower power and a bit darker. Also, I hope your tech put a three prong power cord on it. Dude....that amp is MINT. DONT EVER SELL THAT! Jensen C10Ns in there?

Reverb is a good source for premium tubes but be prepared to pay. EBay has better deals but quality is highly variable. With some research, strategy and dilligence you can score great deals on tubes. It's mainly a question of time value/money in my opinion. I like to tinker so sifting through a shipment of tubes is all part of the fun!

Well good news - he put out a video showing how you could tame the beast to be able to not blow the roof off your house :)
