The game is so much better on PS5 (and Xbox Series X). Decided to wait until I bought a PS5 instead of hoping for the best on my XB1, and wow did my patience ever pay off! Control: Ultimate Edition is worth every penny of its $40 price tag.

Oh that'd be a great game. Cinematic are good in my opinion, lots of moral choices and the action is actually puzzles which could be really interesting to watch and "participate" in as being a backseat gamer being like "GO THERE!" *frantically points at some part of the screen*.

I was about to comment the same thing. The files and notes were amazing and integral to world building. I'm not quite done yet, but I've been obsessing over finding every one because I don't want to miss learning something about the world. Without the files, the game would be decent, but not nearly as good as it is.

Recommendation: Before you and your boyfriend do the Ashtray Maze sequence in Control, finish all five of Ahti’s “Janitor’s Assistant” side quests (they’re short) to get the Janitor’s Assistant outfit. Have Jesse put it on before donning Ahti’s walkman headphones, then go into the maze and enjoy the magic!

@@punchforpound2808 This. Any storyteller worth their salt knows that showing a story element is far more effective than telling it directly to the player. Games take it a step further by allowing you to discover it for yourself. The reason meeting a haunted fridge is so cool is because you're there actually DOING THE THING, not being told about someone else doing it through a log. Text and audio logs are a tool for worldbuilding, but ultimately it's the lazy way of worldbuilding and one that gets relied upon FAR TOO MUCH in modern triple-A games (because collectathons). When I see/hear a log that has a cool thing in it I get the feeling the devs are trying to tell me 'this is what we WOULD have put in the game if we'd had the extra time or resources to do it so please give us money so we can put it in the sequel kthxbai'. If the game were a text-based adventure and you were *prepared* to slog through novel after novel, fair enough - but having your high-octane shootbang experience constantly interrupted by having to go into a menu to read about x y and z takes you out of the flow and is thus a huge immersion breaker - which is pretty high up on the list of massive game design no-nos.

@@punchforpound2808 or you could have just written you don't like reading...at least not while playing games XD the problem with your analysis is you see those texts as something different from and added to the game...That happens in many games...but it is not true for Control. the "reading material" is part of the game world. It's up to the player how much they want to invest. for a game like Control, the more you invest, the more you get out of it.

The thing that I love the most about this Channel is that you're not try to become a "know it all" or "give theory to everything" type of gamers like other youtuber (Don't get me wrong some of them are awesome, like VaatiVidya for example, that guy is a legend!) and you're really truthful about it. Everytime I watch your video I always get the sense of "I don't know what I'm doing but I love it!" and that's why I love it because it somehow really relatable to so many gamers.
