Once again, Adam's ability to recall the names of basically everyone he's ever met or worked with blows me away. Shows a real generosity of spirit. Also I HAVE the book of cutaway ships and can confirm there is indeed someone pooping in every image 😆

I remember reading in a book or TV documentary chronicles of ILM history and personalities an quite funny anecdote, often and because the huge workloads of model making and detailing and the dreaded "time for delivery to set production" modelmakers had an area of "stress relief" which consisted of discarded cardboard and boxes where they can go and "scream and beat the crap of them" , one day during one of those "therapy session" several studio and production executives where visiting and where witnesses to this, and where told, "ahhh don't mind them, they are just liberating stress a little bit" the guy beating the boxes pass in front of the executives..NOW very composed and said something like..."Now back to work, I feel much better" I found out that very funny indeed!!!

I do the same with my art lol. When I worked for a printing company I would change out photos of kids in frames and put my kids. Or id put I Love April in an extremely small font onto car tires, etc. April is my wife. I do the same for other projects I did for Disney, Star Trek, Game of Thrones, etc. Much fun. :)

Mr. Savage's casual admission at 7:07 that he's unsure whether or not he built the figure of "Darth in the Outhouse" is amazing on a whole other level! Imagine having built so MANY models that you doesn't even remember building a specific piece; especially one so off-the-wall funny. (I wish I had thought of that idea, myself . . . .) My Like is in the 3.6Ks

You’re talking about Bucket Wheel Excavators. These are used to mine Lignite (aka brown coal) in Germany, which is just below the surface. Bucket Wheel Excavators are among the biggest machines in the world.

You ever thought about taking a crack at The Maria Robot from Metropolis? Any size would be awesome but you could do full size. Maybe start with 2 mannequins of slightly dissimilar size. Body form. Armor Plates. Plasticine for detail maybe?

I believe the cutaway artist, whose work you are describing with the cross-sectioned ships, is Stephen Biesty. Because, indeed, the pooping character is something of a signature :D I can still remember vividly the fascination I felt coming across Biesty's work in a science magazine as a kid. And am always brought back to that time any time I hear them mentioned.

Please give this comment a thumps up so Adam will see it !!! Grant Imahara died 2 years ago and something have struck me in that sense. Here in Denmark in peacetime you are only allowed to fire a number of rounds RPG's(Carl-Gustaf M4). The reason and also why I write this comment is that the blast(when firing) can give serious problems among them blood clots due to the shaking done by the shock wave . I want the team behind Mythbursters to get a health check to see if all the explotions have had any negative effect on the team.

OK, probably a stupid question, but one of the things that I used to watch as a kid were the Gerry Anderson (Century 21) television shows, such as UFO and Space 1999 (and Thunderbirds, and Super Car, and Fireball XL 5). These shows were full of models, and I could always tell that's what they were, which was fine. But, what I want to know is how ILM could do so much model work and make it not seem like a model? Was it some trick of the camera that you just couldn't do with a TV camera?

Adam You are right about tedious jobs. I read that animators especially the pioneering ones creates funny adult toons besides ones that were made by the studios. Example: Porky Pig saying "Son of a Bitch". I think toons that are banned today had adult easter eggs in them.

Hey Adam and fam, I don’t know if you’ve accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour but I hope you do. We are probably in the end times so whatever you do don’t take anything offered by the powers that be, and be faithful to Jesus unto death. This life is a vapor. Don’t build up treasures here but in Heaven where they don’t decay. We all need to repent and be living for Christ. He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is the only Way to Heaven. I say all this because I love you and all those reading. But Jesus loves you more. He took on our sin/death/debt and died for us and rose again and IS RISEN to this day and forever! HalleluYah! Believe on Him to be robed in His Righteousness. It’s true! Your soul is real and eternal, we each must use our free will to decide Heaven or Hell. Jesus is the only Way to Heaven/Eternal Life. Hell is eternal separation from God. A death that never ends. Don’t go there. Believing on Jesus is not religion it’s knowing the Truth. Much love ❤
