Folks, you're getting all this free installation stuff which gives you an idea of the quality and effort Cruiseman puts into his maintenance videos. If you haven't already, go pick them up and save yourself a lot of dealer labor costs and honestly, some aggravation from trying to DIY without them.

Great review CM as always. I agree they would be best suited for the taller riders. they look great, and the trim added on the hole just makes it a good look.Be safe.

Good morning from Wisconsin! Nice review of the Show Chrome Highway pegs. I noticed that they are a little higher from the ground than the Gold Strike mounting point and would be less susceptible to dragging in a corner. I did the install of the Gold Stike version for the gentleman who purchased my 2018 Gold Wing. Because he is 6' 5"", he's going to like these better. Looks like I may be doing another install! I can certainly recommend to others reading this that they should purchase your " Honda Gold Wing Maintenance Video Series" to assist them with removing cowling and covers and more. Why? It allows you to do it right and not guess. And it allows for a pocketbook savings! Cheers Cruiseman!

Great video and appreciate the "live" snafus with the tight bolts. I've got Gold Strike installed on my 2019 DCT. My preference since I can maintain symmetry with both pegs since there are several fixed points of adjustment.

I had the black Aeropegs, they looked really good and were reasonably comfortable. They tucked away very nicely. However, I didn't really care for the mounting system and the bolt replacement. This Show Chrome mounting system looks like a better design to me on the tip over bars.

Thanks Cruiseman. I just bought your videos and am very excited. That said, I would really love your perspective on why you got rid of your original highway pegs that attach to the motor-block and fold in to disappear when not in use. I bought them after you enjoyed yours and I have loved them. I forgot the name but expect that you will remember. Why did you get rid of those? Thanks

I am 5'11" and have the Show Chrome highway boards mounted at about 45 degree angle on my 2023 DCT Tour. I have no trouble reaching them and use them all the time. You did a video on March 19, 2021 where you mounted them on Don Smith's 2018 Goldwing and at the time Show Chrome did have an offset that would raise/lower and/or bring them closer or further from the rider.

I have those. I took them off because they hit the ground in the corners ! They weren’t comfortable for me either because of how far they are from the rider.

Like you I have the Goldstrike highway pegs and the GS floor boards on My 19 DCT, which now has close to 40k mileage. Several 10k and 7k tours proved them to be very comfortable also. I do prefer not removing the crash bar cover , but admit the SC version is better for longer legs.

I've got the larger size showchrome boards on my 2018. I'm 5'11" w/ 33" inseam. They are comfortable, but offer limited adjustmentability. They will drag in a hard turn, especially if left extended.

Chris, what are your thoughts about when you open the crash bar to mount these boards what is going to keep water from entering the opening anbd collecting around the spark plug boots and possibly over time, weeping into the plugs?

Since installing my Russell Day Long seat, I honestly have not had the need to use my Rivco black aero-pegs. I do like the look and the quality of the Rivco units, but it's a shame the pegs block the HONDA name. I used to be 74" tall, but have gradually shrunk to 71" and 31" leg. I have no issues in extending the aero-pegs while riding and I find them comfortable and were a great relief on my hip joints with the OEM and Wingsoft seat medication.

I this Showchrome Highway Peg mounting location is the best. I’d have purchased a set long ago, but the actual shape of the peg is terrible. Odd/oval 😖 Excellent looking observation about inseam length. I always felt GokdStrike Pegs are better for shorter riders. Never thought riders 6’ and up would be comfortable. I’m 6’4, sat on a Wing w Goldstrike Pegs knew instantly they sat too far back.

Naw, Ill take the Goldstrike . I like the look better and im over 6 foot with a 33 inseam. I like the adjustability.

Looks like it defeats the tip over protection and they will hit the ground when bike tips over i thi k i will stick with my gold strike I'm 6.1 with 32 inseam

These will actually increase your protection I'd rather sacrifice one of these than part of the bike

I actually installed these Show Chrome pegs. They didn’t work for me. I made a not-very-sharp turn, and it dug into the asphalt.

These Show Chrome boards might offer more leg comfort for some, but you are giving up a hugh amount of ground clearance in the curves...hard parts like these Show Chrome highway peg mounts grinding into the road in the curves could cause an accident especially with those riders with less skills. I just noticed my right tip over bar cover has a rather large road rash mark in the plastic cover and I don't even remember doing it, so its pretty easy to touch the tip over bars in a curve with this bike...so I guess if your the type of rider who mostly rides the highway and don't lean the bike much in the curves you would be ok ..but for those who like to ride at a sporting pace on a twistie road these Show Chrome highway pegs are a hazard. As for comfort, I replaced my seat with a RDL and the RDL is about 1 inch higher than the OEM or the Wingsoft seat...not only does the RDL seat offer seat comfort that is in another league compared to the OEM and Wingsoft seat, but as an unexpected bonus that extra seat height changes the knee angle just a bit and the small change in my knee angle greatly improved my knee comfort on long day rides. I don't even feel the need for highway pegs with my 2018..Im not saying that having a highway peg would offer more comfort on long drone rides, but it's the ground clearance issue that keeps me from adding them to my 2018.
