In relation to these specific Tomcats, I wonder about the walkways. I had never noticed the walkways being that colour, which makes me wonder if the started off like that (though I don't think so), or became weathered, or if there was just a batch of F-14s with that colour walkways. Interesting.

Great video! If you're looking for an idea for another video - and I know other people might appreciate this too. How about a video on how you handle the 'in-flight' option on the Tamiya F14? Closing those landing gear doors is sort of a custom thing as the kit doesn't really offer that option.

That’s a good idea and I’ve thought about that. It took me building 5 of them to finally figure out what works best as it’s not that easy to do. If I build another I’ll be sure to show how I do it.

Remember way back in 2019 when my Montreal Expos (some people call them the Nationals) wooped the St Louis Cardinals and then won the world series.........I have a 32nd Bombcat with every upgrade you can get......yours if you want

I called them the JB expos when I was a kid cuz I thought the M on their hat looked like a J and B. I remember watching Vald Guerro Sr hit batting practice in St Louis when he first came up with them. The sound of the ball off his bat was equal only to McGwire…it was incredible.

@Primedmodelworks what do you use to heat the acrylic rods to bend them? Also, do you use any special jig or tooling to bend the acrylic? Sorry if there is already a video on this I'm going through them but I have yet to find it, if there is one.

I use a heat gun and I thought about making a jig using a flat board with holes in it that I could place dowel rods in but I haven’t gotten around to it. I’ve just been using various size drinking glasses to bend them around to get a rounded shape and eyeballing and test fitting for the correct angle. Acrylic rod is pretty easy to bend and shape with a heat gun you just have to go slow so you don’t overheat one spot as you’ll get air bubbles. No they were Tamiya acrylic. Custom mixes for light ghost gray, dark ghost gray, and medium gray. If you use Tamiya paints, I’ve got a link I can post for custom federal standard color mixes
