Hey Scott, I am running the type caliper on my El Camino with good success, one thing to watch for though is you need a really big front caliper piston to balance the system so that the fronts work harder than the rears and you don't end up going roundy round in a panic stop. Going by memory, the standard GM front caliper is 2-15/16" diameter and I found a 3-5/32" caliper that worked. Even with an adjustable proportioning valve in the rear line I couldn't dial enough rear brake out until I went with the larger front pistons. Great setup now that I have the caliper and master cylinder sizes dialed in. Good luck and let me know if I can help with any info. R.J.

And I haven't found a good solution for an emergency brake yet. That is this years project.

Hey RJ, the owner is taking responsibility for the balance of the brake system. I just agreed to install the rear brake kit because it needs to have something on it so that he can drive the car back to his shop. I think he is installing a bigger kit on the front after he gets the car back. It has factory disks on the front. Thanks for watching.

A proportioning valve should do the job for balancing your brakes. I put this kit on my 67 mustang and didn’t need one, installed about 6 years ago. Don’t have emergency brakes

What is your customer planning to use for an emergency/parking brake?

I have no idea. The cable brackets will get removed during the spring relo and this kit has no provisions anyway so I am guessing he will not have one. Thanks for watching.
