Maybe I'm crazy, but the more Defect I play, the less I like auto shields/charge battery, and the more I like leap. Leap seems to consistently outperform both mid to late game, and it works so well with echo form.

I mean, battery works great with Echo too. Battery is a toolboxy solution, if you need pure armor then Leap is better.

@@sathrielsatanson Yeah I agree. I just feel like Defect lacks the block consistency the other characters have (watcher excluded), and I tend to have better performance with Leap than Battery when I take them.

@@sathrielsatanson I'm thinking Battery might be better super later game, but I feel like the +2 block does so much more for Defect until certain enemies in act 3. Leap does better vs birds, better vs centurion/cleric (usually), and it's extra block if you draw reinforced body when you need full block.

@@sathrielsatanson Another thing to consider, the extra energy next turn being devoted to defend is a +3 next turn, rather than +2 immediately which is usually better.

A good metric is scoring in sports! The Goal definitionally is both the goal and the metric by which the players are judged by. Although thats based on hundreds of rules.
