@blackmanta66

@@midnight_x_editsbut what you can't do is sacrifice the health of some patients in order to focus on others, if You're stretched as it is then you can't spend the extra time doing extra work for each child. As I teacher I get to work for 7 and head home at 6, if I tried to add to that curriculum by specializing work for each student then I wouldn't have any time left, I would have to prioritize some students over others in order to adapt to each individual student. The fact that that 11 year old girl was brave enough to stand up and say "because of my faith I believe that God made me a girl" is so amazing and so comforting to me, and as a Christian girl who is very close to college and terrified of this sort of thing coming up a normal conversation or in the classroom, I am mortified that it happens to kids at 11! That's not okay we should not have to deal with this until we are out of college and adults but we deal with it when we are nine, when we are kids. And what you think about it if another girl stood up who didn't really care and was fine with being a biological girl and just said "I'm a girl" she wouldn't get sent to the principal's office, that 11 year old girl got sent to the principal's office because she spoke up about what she believed in. She used free speech which by the Constitution says we are allowed to have, teachers, principals, and schools are violating our constitutional rights. And now I'd like you to think of what all of our founding fathers would think of this terrible generation of all of the things that we are violating that they stood for, that they fought and killed for!

As a high school teacher for 17 years, I am so grateful I work for a charter school. The teachers respect the role of the parent and would never speak like these teachers. I remember when I was in school, I had no idea what the political affiliation or sexual orientation of ANY teacher was. We only knew they were married if we happened to see a family photo on their desk. Teachers need to be professionals again.

The sad part is most kids who are getting asked "What are your pronouns?" probably don't know proper grammar to know the difference between nouns, pronouns, verbs, and adjectives at the time they're asked their pronouns.
@wesley3300
@wesley3300 Жыл бұрын
Lol wow yeah that’s a good point. Without the whole gender debate happening, I know a lot of adults that probably wouldn’t have known the words for parts of speech, let alone children. There will be a generation of kids that think that pronouns refer specifically to sexuality or gender identity rather than just parts of speech that simply take the place of a proper name. Pronouns are supposed to remove ambiguity and make speech less clumsy, not creating more confusion and meaningless labeling. *sigh*
@kora4185
@kora4185 Жыл бұрын
They’re basically asking kids if they identify with their sex before even understanding what their personality even is. Kids that have gender dysphoria (wich is extremely rare!!) will show signs of this anyway, and teachers and parents gotta be prepared, but kids that are developing normally don’t need to be extra confused. This could lead them to question stuff they absolutely never would just to be different and cool and end up harming themselves (especially now where everything they say is consider rule and not just kids going through a phase). They’ll be silly on their own, they need stability from parents and teachers, not indulgence.

Is this the excuse? American kids are not taught pronouns? LOL. Well, I am sure that they are (2nd grade). If you spent time with your kids, you would see that they are taught other subjects which they might not know 100%. YOU will not be complaining with any other subject. Anyhow, that is why they are going to school. To learn age appropriate subjects. For those saying, that it should be taught at home, be honest with yourself. Most parents will NOT be doing so. Kids will be learning this from their friends or other ways. Isn't it better to learn in school? If so concerned, go over what was taught in school (with ALL subjects) to clarify your child's misunderstanding. Simple as that.

I responded saying, "With all due respect, I'm not going to tell my rapidly developing daughter to blindly follow something *any* strange man tells her if she wants to know why he wants her to do something. That sets a very dangerous precedent." He never even acknowledged me. Thank you so much for speaking about the things that you do. I find it so amazing that you fight so hard for children in education. I am a freshman and in 8th grade I had an English teacher who for whatever reason decided to talk about trans people and transphobia. I was very confused why she would be talking about this, especially because she is an English teacher. Here I was trying to read my book and she was talking about how if a man wants to dress up as a woman that makes them a woman. I am a biological woman and that utterly disgusted me. Someone who was my very close friend two weeks later told me she was trans. That English teacher ruined my closest friends life in one class. Thank you so much Brett for trying so hard to make the world a better place for the next students.

As a 13 year old girl in public school the things these kids are experiencing in schools is not a rarity. I have friends from numerous counties and every single one of them including myself has been pressured by teachers and their peers into “discovering their real gender identity/sexuality”. This started when I was 11, back then I didn’t even know what sexuality was but by the time I completed 7th grade I knew everything from what a panromantic asexual person was to a gender-fluid person. On field trips we even have three buses 1 for males, females and those who don’t identify with either. This world has gone crazy for kids I just want my innocence back.

@@isai77 When I was in high school, sexuality was brought up in my health class and learned a few differences between gay and straight people. Gender identity wasn't even a thing being taught in schools. But a lot of kids I know still have the common sense to tolerate and be kind to each other regardless of gender, race, sexuality, etc. without being coerced about it politically. The word "gay" was also used as an insult when I started middle school for some reason, but I'm glad that we grew out of that silly phase in retrospect. At one point, there used to be permission slips for sex ed, and now little kids apparently don't need permission slips to be taken on a field trip to a gay bar with 18+ shows and alcohol presented. I think the problem now is the politicization/capitalization of "inclusion," representation, and especially "tolerance." Sometimes the whole thing feels..... almost no different from how North Korean propaganda works. Just saying.

I don’t think being around gay people or things is ruining your childhood it’s much more likely to be our culture around porn websites. Which I often heard other kids talking about, and letting kids watch certain movies earlier than other kids. Like I was in second grade and a 6 year old that was family friends had already watched all the pirates of the Caribbean movies. Also 14, you should have already started puberty, that’s literally when sex should be talked about. Otherwise you’ll be getting urges and experience changes and your parents might not accept or explain or understand what your going through. Think single dad with daughter or something like that.

I'm so glad you made a video about this! I have two very young kids and my husband and I have had the conversation of just having the kids at home and have a private teacher teach them when they are old enough, because I cannot stand the public school system. I understand teachers want to have all children feel welcome and heard, and that is great but there are so many political things that are transitioning into the school system I am just not comfortable. Schools are a place for learning. As a parent I should not have to worry about my kids being taught sex education at a very young age or feeling pressure to choose "what pronoun are you". When you do that, you are now making it sound more like a fad thing to fit in vs. you trying to make the child more comfortable. Which brings me to my next point now that you have made it a fan thing, any kid that doesn't want to do that will get bullied or isolated for having different beliefs. Also children should not be given hormones, let little kids just be kids for God sake.

It was purely magnificent because you were actually learning at your own speed, i was a fast learner and so I went really deep into multiple subjects with the help of the parents. And when I entered high school I only started learning new stuff around the end of the fourth year. And I had friends that were in sixth grade of primary and learning nearly college level math and yet had trouble reading a child’s book.😅 we were all pushed to are limit and we were going enven deeper into the things that we liked, it made my primary school years much more enjoyable and less Traumatic then most people. I will say this about the parent thing. With the way the economy is, a lot of parents are working a vast majority of the time so we don’t have time to spend with our kids between work and doing household stuff, and then on top of that our students are coming home with 2+ hours of homework. Like, my daughter in 3rd grade would come home with hours of homework, that by the time I am done with my household stuff such as cooking dinner and all that after work, she is still working on it and I can help her yes, but once we are done with that she now has to go to bed. I don’t count homework time as quality time because we are talking about schoolwork and not enjoying each others time. One of the many reasons I switched to homeschool and hearing you homeschooled answers a lot of questions about you. In a good way! I like you even more now.

Yup. As a child I actively tried to be UNLIKE my amazing successful parents (to a degree, I also looks up to them more so) and that has hurt me. Now at 26 I’m changing to be more like my parents and especially my hard working humble father. It’s true. Don’t ever force a child to think like you. It will back fire. It’s usually natural that when children are young they reject their parents values and actions, and as they grow into their 20’s they usually dial it back and become more like their parents. Guidance is key and badgering a certain set of way of life can backfire quickly.

The other kids at that alternative school were on a 4th grade reading level as SOPHOMORES. I essentially did middle school level work to get my diploma.
