I snowboarded with Glen Plake and his wife in the rain at Nubs Nob in early January of 2006. It was so bad nubs had to close early that day (the only day I ever remember nubs closing early) due to lightning in the area. Glen was touring smaller independent hills in a decked out RV and that was the date he picked to ski nubs. I felt bad because the slopes were empty except for a few instructors and patrollers, but he was all about it. Just happy to be skiing! Moral of the story, kids: Go because there may be a celebrity there.
