A few years back we devoted about 10 rai to farming bamboo. We put a lot of effort into it for very little financial reward so when some idiot managed to set fire to it all I was secretly pleased. In the rainy season, the villagers roam the hills for the shoots and we buy a lot of it. My wife and friends spend hours sitting around in a circle shredding it and cooking it before salting it overnight and storing it in large jars for a year-round supply. I am constantly amazed at how time is never an issue in village life. Things take as long as they take so 'never mind'

Since you're asking: Chickens belong to the class Aves which include all birds. Chickens are also animals as they belong to the class Animalia. So a chicken is specifically a type of bird that falls under the broader category of animals. So that's the answer in a nutshell. Cheers from Canada.

My wife normally peels off the layers. However, we may have a different bamboo as they don't seem to have a hairy bit on the outside. FYI, Damo, a chicken, is a bird. Evaluation: I would say that the egg came first, and it would have been a mutation from another similar bird. Ryan, the light that comes off the welding arc is ultraviolet light, and it can cause blindness as it burns the back off the eye. I suffer with this in my left eye in a milder form.

Cooking and Recipes of bamboo. Once harvested, bamboo shoots require proper preparation, which typically involves boiling to remove any bitterness. They can then be incorporated into a variety of recipes - from stir-fries and soups to more elaborate dishes. Properly cured and finished bamboo is exceptionally strong, which means that it can be made into thin spatulas ideal for flipping and sautéing. And, bamboo has the best strength-to-weight ratio of any cookware material. This means that it's the most lightweight option you'll find.

If a chicken is not a bird, what is an ostrich? 😂 This bamboo recipe seemed yummy. Yai is really a woman of many resources, and it's great that Damo wants to learn more from her, even in her thirties...

I have seen this recently in a Philippines vlog, a young girl found the young bamboo shoots and prepared it in the same way, then cooked it. I was amazed that she didn't cut her fingers while doing that chopping motion with the big knife. So it was the same process in both countries.

Our families are quite similar. My wife's mother used to make those mats with the plant that grows around the pond until she got too old. My wife's brothers also make living welding and the one that lost his leg in a rice combine makes brooms to sell. My wife loves to cook and makes all the Thai "kanom". One made of "luk Tan" tastes a lot like apple pie to me. As for soaps, one of my fav is made with banana flower and coconut. I was born on the old US south almost 80 years ago. Lived in a "shotgun" house built on pilings with no electric, an outhouse (and piss pot under the bed) and you hand pumped the water from outside. Grandfather would shot rabbits for dinner. I felt like I came home when I moved here.

What was the chicken or the egg first, well that's a simple question, a chicken comes from accomplished, so it was first a different kind of following and then full-fledged to a chicken

Chickens are relatively large birds, active by day. The body is round, the legs are unfeathered in most breeds, and the wings are short. Wild junglefowl can fly; chickens and their flight muscles are too heavy to allow them to fly more than a short distance. Size and coloration vary widely between breeds.

Hi Ryan & Mo, nice video! Wanted to ask if Demos mom and/ or the ladies in the village would make me a few of those traditional Thai straw mats with patterns on them to order (I saw them making them in one of your videos)? I "borrowed" some from my mother in law as wind covers on our patio, but she nearly had me flogged for disgracing her sacred "praying mats" that she uses for monks to sit on whenever they visit :-o They're supposed to be common and easy to get by, but I didn't find any in our local market...How much, in that case, would they charge med for say 4 of them?

Yeah I will ask damo I think they are. A few hundred baht each but cannot shop internationally 😁
