@@taewootaewoo4982 she called gaga reductive in an interview but what a lot of people don’t know is that Madonna was saying how cool lady Gaga was and they asked about how born this way sounds very extremely similar to express yourself. And she said it felt reductive but they edited the interview in a way that made Madonna look shady, but I found an unedited version and that’s how I know they made Madonna look bad.
@andrewolfe30303 жыл бұрын
Madonna was never nasty to Lady Gaga. She has praised Gaga many times when asked what she thought of her. It was the media who pinned these two iconic stars against each other as they have done so many times with other famous women and will continue to do throughout pop culture because of misogyny. Madonna was asked what she thought of Born This Way and did she think it was a rip off. She responded with indifference and said no because they are two different people. She mentioned it felt reductive meaning Born This Way was a less condensed version of Express Yourself. It was her honest opinion as we give out many times when we are not as impressed by something. Just because Madonna is famous does not mean she is not allowed to be vocal about her opinions. It had nothing to do with tearing Lady Gaga down. However, I thought it had more to do with setting the record straight- that because Lady Gaga was indeed talented, could sing better than Madonna, and could even look like her…it was Madonna’s ways of telling the world she was not going away nor would she be replaced. In my humble opinion I felt like Lady Gaga and her team were trying to do replace Madonna. A highly successful pop star was sadly aging as “we all do” so this was their chance to re-edit everything she has done that made her successful and sell it to an audience who was less familiar with her discography, work of art, style, etc. It was this “reductive” comment I believe is what forced Lady Gaga to come into her own artistry instead of ripping off everyone else’s. She stopped the gimmick and became a classy woman in her own right. She won an Oscar and continues to influence women who now come after her. We can all learn something from constructive criticism. One does not have to be labeled jealous or an old hag to have an opinion and a passion of their own creativity and hard work only to see it being discarded because someone younger and moderately more talented can do it too or their own popularity and profit. I mean this video is pretty crystal clear that this was Lady Gaga’s intention.. I mean cmon look at her then she is dressed up and styled EXACTLY like Madonna. Read the comments below. Everyone says so. 😌

Zach Walraven I was thinking the same thing, but I think it’s a combination of her being a grown woman now in her 30’s and also the novelty of being famous wore off. She’s already answered almost everything about her life that there’s really not many new things she could talk about anymore. So her interviews are usually more specific to what she’s working on.

Bro imagine trying to HAVE A CONVERSATION while someone looks at a computer screen and tries to type everything you're saying to them... The 2000s have hit Gaga in the face that's why she's like "come on yo recipricate/contribute" in the conversation. I would feel the same way man. Conversation is the fuel and fire of ideas for creative people. It's stale because she has to talk to herself. She's getting in her head. Plus she was mad her glasses (which totally completed her look/character) were crooked. Love you Gaga but this was a bad idea on the interviewer's part. All I'm saying is moments of ecstasy, as conversations tend to be for imaginaries, cannot be captured in all but essence when you must type it out-- that's why poets often record themselves aloud. I totally get her vibes. She definitely made some valuable points but there's nothing like bouncing ideas off someone/sharing energy to create a moment in conversation. I mean you can tell she's a visual intellectually expressive person. She's speaking in metaphors and colors. She needs someone to exchange ideas and vibes with. They should have her on again for sure and take this into consideration. What's a conversation without eye contact? What's a script with one character? (A monologue). It's just so open-ended and I think Gaga was caught off guard by this.
