They could have slow burned it more than they did, like episode 1 those 2 were on a hard collision course, I didn’t think it would last the entire season. Breaking Bad slow burned Hank/Walt the entire time, I remember watching that series premier and instantly thought “oh Hank and Walt will be going head to head by seasons end” and a 2nd season came and went and it kept going and I kept thinking “Hank has to find out at some point, it’s been so long” and the payoff was well worth it in every way, they could have done this with Doakes and Dexter

He was a goof when the man told him he had a bag of cash on him and there was not an ounce of humor in his voice. He never thought Walt would have it in him to do something like that. I still think it was a mix of feeling betrayed and humiliation that Heisenberg was right in front of him

When Laguerta is closing the walls on Dexter, & baits him getting Hector Estrata released early, when Dex does Estrata, he tells him he's also going to be killing Laguerta that night, Estrata asks Dexter why? Knowing it's for the same reason he killed Dexters mother. Survival. Dexter replies "tonight I'm not a special killer, I'm just a CREEP MOTHERFUCKER" Never connected the dots till now, Dexter got emotional damage from Doaks 😂

there is one way doakes need not have died. doakes could have said that he now owns his life to dexter after dexter saves him. but of course dexter can't let him go just because he shows gratitude. doakes could have convinced him towards creating some sort of evidence so that dexter could make doakes look like the bay harbour butcher just in case doakes screws dexter later on. And then dexter lets doakes go free. in any case he can't kill doakes because he doesn't fit the code. this script could have let the most enjoyable character on this show live on to entertain us.
