At least it's just screwed in (with _special screws_ ). I remember the 80s Channel 4 show "The Secret Life of Machines" (available on KZbin, highly recommended), where one of the host bought a cheap watch in the drug store that's a solid lump of plastic and he needed to cut the watch in half with a heated knife to get to the battery.

Humans have spent thousands of years finding out how to keep time accurately. We finally were able to make mechanical watches small enough to fit on our wrist. Then we developed a way to measure time by measuring the vibrations of a tiny tuning fork made of a crystal. Then we took all of that effort and put this precision instrument inside of a happy meals Shrek watch. What a time to be alive. People would kill for this time accuracy only 200 years ago and now we have tamed it to the point it’s basically disposable.

I find pharmacies often have a great selection of odd small batteries, I assume for use in medical devices. One of the few places I can find batteries for old cameras/lightmeters and other odd old junk thats not a specialty store or online.
