Wow thank you so much Blerd Without Fear for acknowledging Chadwick Boseman. I don't know why the majority of KZbin Video Bloggers haven't been mentioning the passing of such a great actor who made a awesome contribution and portrayal of Black Panther. Of course this man is bigger then one role he did but his talent, passion, commitment, and so much more were awesome. MCU has alot of thinking to do with so many paths for this movie I would like for Shuri to have her time and for TChalla to come back too. It is so important to tell stories that represent us all as people and seeing a black hero and kingdom that is out to change the world for good is something that calls us all to be heroes. I think it's also safe to assume even though she doesn't necessarily like the "old ways" being a royal she was trained from a young age but once she started breaking down hoverbikes &putting them back together they focused more on STEM than combat I'd love to see a costume variant of her early BP suit with the fur collar Cape &tribal chain But have her wear the tribal tooth chain (that tchalla wore when he beat mbaku) over her kimoyo suit in honour of tchalla I'd make the suit way more advanced than the one she designed for tchalla.. but not visibly so.. it should resemble a blend of her plain black &matte black tribal suit but with the matte black striped gloves/boots &vary her loadout to be less reliant on claws (if she uses them at all) &more emphasis on nanotech &energy shielding &possibly even short range teleportation like tchalla had in "everything dies" I'd even still have her old panther gauntlets.. but instead of solid heavy gauntlets they could be programmed to "pop" from her gloves as needed (similar to how the huge cannons do from Starks last suit) as well as maybe some dual "tech daggers" (another ode to comic tchalla) &vibranium energy kunais for throwing I'd also consider giving her a variable Cape for her suit.. long one for ceremonial issue.. that can be shortened to waist length for combat (which would also be an homage to her &tchallas short capes in the comics)

My 1st introduction to Shuri was in the Black Panther show that was in Netflix. First timeI read anything with Shuri was the Wade and Samnee run on Daredevil. When Matt had to lawyer people out of Wakanda. She was Black Panther at that time.

Interested to see how they get Leticia Wright's Shuri to that point, comic version and movie version are pretty different characters. LW also needs to go in hard on the martial training like Chadwick did. No doubt they'll figure it out and get her there, I just hope they don't rush it.

I've always rocked with shuri. I'm a huge black panther fan so I've always follow any series. I'm a fan of her taking over the mantle. That being said it's to early for her to take over the MCU just cause T'challa is a bridge to so many other story arcs and characters. I feel they have to recast for T'challa which hurts cause chadwick killed it. But it would be a shame to kill off T'challa when chadwick laid out the blue print.

As I keep telling people. The Marvel comics Shuri and the MCU Shuri are not the same character. The characteristics of the comics Shuri that translate into being BP are absent in the MCU version. The MCU version was created to be a side character who perhaps they could develop down the road to take the mantle but not yet. MCU Shuri is NOT a trained leader or warrior. Her own Momma didn’t even consider her taking the heart shaped herb in the movie.

As far as I'm aware, they are sadly few and far between. I did some digging and found a list someone made of some characters but it seemed awfully limited. One of the few that comes to mind is Mondo from Generation X/New Mutants who I believe is an islander. I believe Loa is considered one as well. You may find one among the New Agents of Atlas, at least one that was a god or goddess on the team... But I'm blanking on her name

Unpopular opinion: MCU Shuri should not be the next Black Panther. MCU Shuri is NOT comic book Shuri and it wouldn't make any sense for her to simply be passed the mantle for several reasons. 1. MCU Shuri is a scientist, not a warrior or a leader. She is better suited at being the nation and the MCU's smartest person. They really need her to do what she does best especially now that Tony Stark is dead. 2. Shuri would have to pass trials and survive anyone that challenged her to combat. MCU Shuri has not been shown to be able to win a fight against the likes of M'Baku or even Nakia, who imo are both better candidates. 3. Chadwick Boseman passed away unfortunately, T'Challa has not and doesn't have to. Although I loved his portrayal of the character, any actor can be re-cast. This isn't even a typical replacement like Terrence Howard or Edward Norton being ousted out of the MCU. Another actor would be carrying on the role and there is nothing wrong or disrespectful about that. 4. The events of the MCU do not have to line up with the events of the comics. Saying it happened in the comics (briefly) is not a valid argument. This is the MCU. 5. Everything mentioned in this video is not at all what we know or what we've seen in the MCU except her technological knowledge. Again, MCU Shuri is NOT comic book Shuri. Always love your videos Ernie. Keep up the amazing work.

I have gotten into protracted debates on how we should move forward w/ BP after the unfortunate death of Chadwick Bozeman. My thoughts are that it would be extremely distasteful and cheesy to recast T’Challa and roll ahead w/ BP2. If we’re gonna have a BP2 we gotta pass the mantle to a new BP. The only idea besides Shuri taking on the mantle I’ve heard is to have a T’Challa from somewhere in the multiverse take over. But the more I think about it that sounds forced and corny too. The only other alternative I see is to not shoot BP2 at all, sunset that particular series and introduce a new T’Challa actor in a future MCU film.

I respectfully disagree. Actors take over roles of the deceased all the time (ie. Dumbledore). I think a man like Chadwick Boseman would want the character to live on. I didn't know the man personally. I went to college with him briefly but we never met. He wasn't famous then lol. I can just tell he cared about the character and the fans more than his own legacy which will remain untarnished no matter what. It makes more sense to re-cast the character than to service the fans by just making Shuri, a character who has not been shown in the MCU to be a good candidate for the mantle, to be the next Black Panther. This video is about the comic book version. The MCU version has very little in common with this version. It would make very little sense within that universe.

I agree. I wouldn't recast him. Especially not right now. Whoever was picked, regardless of how good they are in the role or how much they deserve to have the chance, that person will ALWAYS be in Chadwick's shadow. Not by their own doing either. But by the fans and stans who "can never be pleased by anything." The ones who will say "he's not good enough" no matter how good he is. Let the character sunset for a while. Let Shuri take the mantle. If Disney decides not to go that route, fine. But I don't think its a wise decision to it "Right now"
