I remember my whole family would sit around the TV to watch the Flip Wilson show . It was a huge task for a black man to have his own variety show back then. My mom and dad would laugh and we had great times together as a family. At this time in my life its a melancholy feeling to watch these types of shows with bittersweet memories. RIH to all that have gone on to glory.

Actually Paul and Eddie’s very last performance as Temptations was on the Ed Sullivan show in 1971. where they performed “Just My Imagination (Running Away With Me)”. But this is one of their last 🙂

Not true. Eddie left before Paul. Paul was still a temptation late 1971 early 1972. Its pics to prove it. They replaced Eddie wit someone who lasted like a couple of months before Damion came in. & cool fact Paul helped choreograph papa was a rolling stone dance moves

Flip was such a comedic genius! There will never be another show like his or comedian like him. As for the Temps... Man they were just the absolute best! Each one had that certain something. They didn't sing, they SANG! My favorite was always Paul, but it's heartbreaking seeing him go through it. The sickle-cell and drinking really wore him out, but he still gave it his 100%. A true showman.

This performance is always a tear jerker for me! Paul look like he was in true pain but push through it. He was sweating profusely and not as energetic or smiling like he was in all the other performances 😔😔 and the look of concern on Otis and Eddie face as they turned when it was Paul turn to sing made it even sadder 🥺. he was such an awesome showman and entertainer. Even through pain he did the best he could. He will Never be forgotten ❤️❤️🙏🏽🙏🏽

The Temptations actually played in one episode of Rowan and Martin Laugh In as they dress up as French foreign legion in the desert. Arte Johnson who plays as Wolfgang, a German soldier who gave them a hard time as they were actually singing and dancing. They actually sang Get Ready Here I Come.

I saw the Temptations in Chicago at the Regal Theater in 1966 when I was 9 years old, it was a Motown Revue I'm 64 now, it still seems like yesterday.

I saw them several times at the Howard in Washington, D.C., as well as at Constitution Hall. The Howard used to have Motown Revues as well, where you'd see the Supremes, Smokey and the Miracles, Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye (D.C. was his hometown), Martha and the Vandellas, etc. Great Times!!

It's really sad to read comments mocking Paul on his obvious illness. The best male group as stated here, and some feel it childishly necessary to demean any member. I am grateful to Otis...who can sing....for keeping the group successful for over 60 years. Sorry for you Ruffin lovers (no offense to Ruffin) that he let ego get in the way of lasting success. Don't let it eat you alive. It was only a movie, folks!!! I appreciate all the members' contributions and I thank God I can still enjoy the music and the views. Grow up....like they did !!

Eddie Kendrick’s solo LP was already complete by the time he did this. “All By Myself” was the title. It was only supposed to be a side project while still with the group. We all know what happened after that. 🙂
