@ALBASCOT21 G3A3 is a flanking gun, get behind them, put 3-4 shot on one guy, and then move to the next until you run dry or they return fire. It is also a hybrid between AR and SKS, in that it is decent as a DMR. I use it as a DMR w/ atuo functionality, and have had decent success with it. It is best in hardcore. I recommend reflex (RX01 OR KOBRA), grip, and silencer or laser for close in, and 6x/7x, bipod, and heavy barrel for longer range work (4x ACOG/PSO works too)

The SCAR-H is best suited for medium to longer range engagements. That being said, you'll want to use the heavy barrel with it. The best setup for the SCAR-H is a holosight, a heavy barell and a bipod. The bipod is useful if you have to engage an enemy at long range. But you will have to learn to compensate the recoil pattern for any weapon. This is done by simply slightly pulling your mouse/bumper in the opposite direction of where the recoil is pulling the gun

I use the same loadout. SCAR-H: Holo sight, Foregrip and Flash suppressor. The M1911 is my favorite handgun because the smoothness of the firing. The .45 ACP 250gr from the M1911 is 11.43mm, which is just 1.27mm away from a 12.7mm AKA .50, but 2.43mm more than a regular 9mm. Less kick for more punch.

My understanding of the 1911 is you can get the supressed through the gun club, but the other versions are auto unlocked if you had that account playing one of the previous battlefield games (BFBC2, BF2 ect).

The .45 ACP (Automatic Colt Pistol) Round is amazingly effective against soft targets, but is among on of the least effective rounds against body armor in widespread use today. This is caused mostly by the shape of the neck, and partly due to the large diameter to relatively short length.

I don't know about anyone else, but since the newest patch, the SCAR-H has been one of my favorite weapons. I use a holographic sight, a suppressor, and a foregrip and this thing is an absolute beast for me.

M1911 suppressed is quite honestly my favorite handgun in the game.I used G17C for a long time, and it just seemed to take too many shots to kill, as did my time with the MP443. The 44 had an atrociously low fire rate and high recoil. The 1911 fits perfectly in between the types of pistols, offering a big punch with a 8+1 mag and decent fire rate

Snoov, have you tried the SCAR with the Flash Suppressor? I heard it works much better as a compensator than the silencer.

Also, with the SCAR-H, HOLO, Foregrip and HBar/FSupp work best, if you are good at managing the recoil it'll outperform most rifles and any of the carbines with it's amazing accuracy and stopping power due to it's "lower" ROF of 600 giving it the ability maintain some accuracy and let recoil drop slightly between shots.

The 1911 is the veteran weapon this time around. So its unlocked by default if you've played previous Battlefield games, or by joining the gun club.

I gotta say I agree on most points for the Scar-H. My biggest problem with the gun is the clip size. However, it is honestly the only carbine I can stand using. I only played the game for a couple months before I deployed, so I dont have too much experience with the game. But in the month or so I was able to play, I accumulated over 2500 kills on the Scar alone. The recoil in my opinion is actually a bonus, just because of the fact if you control your aim well, it leads to many many headshots.

shusty u are right about the epic power of the gun, and i dont know how they could put it in the Carbine class, cuz it uses 7,62x52mm NATO round which is the same round the G3 uses and its about 2 times as strong as an .223 (5,56x45mm) which the 416, m16, and almost every AR use.

Woah, woah, woah. My set-up with the SCAR: -IRNV -Heavy Barrel Good for picking guys out at range and harassing with semi-auto, or dropping guys at close range by letting the recoil take your shots up their chest. With high damage, it's very easy to get multiple kills with one clip. Low reload speed puts the icing on the cake.

Even magnum rounds are less effective against body armor than rifle rounds. I always found that normally, if the bullet is smaller than the overall width (i.e. .454, .223, .308), it is better against armor than a similar-sized round with the bullet itself being about the same width as the overall (i.e. 9mm, .45 ACP, or even magnum rounds).

IMO if you are going for unique builds for each class the SCAR is a great gun to hold on too. I have most my kills with the SCAR. As was mentioned in the video, the high damage meant I had to land less shots. I pretty much suck at 1st person shooters but the SCAR really worked for me

Well, after i bought premium pack, i've been using MTAR-21, Scar-L, JNG-90,AUG A3 and the L86A2, and About old guns, i use G36C, L96 M27-IAR and MG36... I do use other guns too, but not as often as these guns.

Im currently using the SCAR-H to level my engineer class and I'm wondering this: Is it good enough to last me to the second to last unlock (the gun im aiming for called the G3 something?)? I dont like the M4A1, dont get me wrong, its great, but it feels too much like an assault rifle and the M16A3 I always use as an assualt, i want to make my classes feel more unique

The version in-game is the SCAR-H CQB. It has a shorter barrel than the other version.

For unlocking M1911 handguns you either need to : * have one or more of the previous games from the Battlefield series (you know..BF2...BF:BC2...etc..) * login with your account on EA's Gun Club. I hope this helps :).

S-TAC is beast. Also, SCAR-H with 6x, Heavy Barrel and Bipod is insane at very long range. It will destroy snipers from across the map. Also, if you get jumped at medium to close range, it still gets the job done because the vertical recoil lands your second or third shot on the enemy's head. I unlocked the 1911 when I became a Colonel...

It has to do with the shortness of the rifle barrel. That makes it defined as a carbine, which is really just a sub-class of assault rifles.

Gave the Scar-H a run myself on the Pc version of BF3, and man that thing is nasty! I use full auto and can take out 3 enemies in one clip. Also with the M1911, there are two ways to get it. You could have it unlocked instantly if you were a member of EA Gun Club, you can link it with your EA account, but the game has it as a progression weapon also, it's basically when you get to use it.

Really surprised the 1911 seems so unpopular, I only use the 1911 Suppressed. I find the other semi-autos frustrating because you have to fire so many rounds to drop someone and I don't feel confident that they can do the damage I need quickly enough, similarly the revolvers are just not precise enough for me and I meet in the middle at the 1911 with the suppressor I don't feel afraid to even pull it out often even at some distance where my primary is loud and I want to stay hidden.

love the scar h my all time favorite gun if its in a game i use it and its great in real life too with all the games i have played with it in there all kills added together i have 20,351 kils with the scar and i found that useing the fore grip laser and the m145 works together perfect special forces uses a very common set up fore grip peq 15 laser tac light and the eclan spector dr with is made by the same company that made the m145

i personal like the heavy barrel the accuracy increase with the 34 damage makes people drop then switch to my REX pistol for a finish kill. It works out great for me.

After the Spring Patch fixed the semi-auto fire rate error I think the M1911 needs to be re-reviewed. It's fire rate can now be fully realized making it AT LEAST on par with other sidearms in BF3.

i use the scar h with a RDS, grip and silencerand find it works very well as the silencer and grip reduce the recoil while full auto and the RDS is far better than the iron sights.

Actually, the .454 Casull took .44's title. It is essentially an elongated .44 with almost twice the energy produced. That said, the .45 ACP is normally sub-sonic, thus it is sub-par when it comes to stopping power on armoured soldiers.

the 1911 can either be unlocked through a code from the limited edition BF3 or through the gun club sign up but your account on gun club has to recignized BF3 currently it only recognizes my mass effect 2 saved game.

to be fair, the magazine on the scar is smaller because of the larger 7.62, though Im sure you guys knew, you do have to allow the realism for the guns on small stuff, but I do agree, I find myself running out of ammo much too quickly. :)

I mean that the bullets would spread out over a wider area. Say I have a cookie. And the cookie gets bigger. That's what I mean. Say the bullets spread out the length of the cookie, and if the cookie gets larger, then the bullets spread farther as well. Second, I like suppressors because they make me nearly invisible on the mini map since I play on hardcore servers.

I absolutely love the 1911, for various occasions I find my self using it with a M1014 because when I run out of shells and there is a wounded enemy that has a jump on me the power of the pistol helps with a 1-2 shot kill on him. Sometimes also I run out of ammo completely I can almost use it entirely as a main weapon until finding an ammo box. My rating is 4/5

Love the m1911, I use it in every game that offers it and this one is no exception. I play on the PC so I don't get the hiccuping as much when firing it but the damage is good enough to take out at least 3 low-health enemies. Used it from day 1 and will never stop. Just my two cents.

Small mag because it's a .308 Winchester (7.62x51 NATO) rifle round, beast round but a little big for most situations. I like it for the huge rush maps where vehicles are a pain in the lalala and you can never have enough engineers but also need to reach out and touch infantry from afar and an M4 won't make the grade. An ACOG or the Russian PK-A is quite useful for the above situation or if one is feeling confident even a rifle scope will be adequate. Decent weapon but for CQC, not my go to.

GOOD, on the Xbox you unlock the m1911 with suppresor on the EA gun club, and the without supp. you unlock when you rank to a specific rank. (I THINK!!)

Yo very interesting review. Just wanted to mention according to wikki the m1911 has a potential for a one head shot kill vs the other pistol need two hits to the head. I've yet to confirm this. But it does seem that the enemy goes down quick when I aim to the head. But because it havens quick im still shooting so I can't tell. Need to try it in a controlled way to see the results.

also if you want to higher zoom scopes try using the bipod too. it will help a lot with managing the recoil. also i am kidding ALWAYS use the bipod. in all classes. never use the grip. especially on the snipers.

I run this gun with a holo sight, suppressor and bipod, I find it a real bitch sometimes and other times I love it. I think it excels if you can get that first shot to hit, the suppressor makes it possible to escape and reload without being hunted down, I usually go with the rex as a side arm.

my favourite side arm so far is the mp412 rex because it is only a two shot kill i think so if you have damaged your enemy but your clip is empty in your primary you just pull it out and one shot their dead.

No and yes. It is just a full rifle round. M14, G3A3, and FN FAL use this round, it is basically a .30 Cal round. But many Marksmen and Bolt-action weapon systems use this round. Its just a powerful round.

I'd give the M1911 4 out of 5 stars. After extensively using it, I've managed to time my trigger finger perfectly when I use it. The damage is decent and it's reload is pretty quick.

i am an aggresive player too. you dont have ti camp. run around normally and when you know an enemy will come lay down and deploy the bipod. then leave again. you cacn also do the same for long range. trust me.

I believe that they've patched the fire rate problem for the m1911. Either way, this is personally, my favorite sidearm by far. Its the best of the semi auto pistols, I don't really like or play well with magnums or the g18

To unlock M1911 Side-arm you have to be a Battlefield Veteran,what I mean by that is that you musthave more than 1 Battlefield Game activated on your EA (Origin) account.

Well, the scar h uses a heavier and bugger round than the scar l. The scar h can also be considered to be an lmg with a bigger mag.

The biggest strength to me with the M1911 is the high stopping power, amazing hipfire at any range up to 35-45m and accuracy, its main strength is it's tiny recoil when ADS, if you're "good enough", it'll constantly kill with 1 or 2 headshots, or a bodyshot and a headshot, I use it over the .44M/.357R anyday, it pairs amazingly well with the SCAR-H and G3A3... just my thoughts. :j

the m1911 is unlocked for all BF veterans (you have a previous BF save on your system) when you install the game, otherwise you had to signup for the gunclub
