Neutrinos have been observed changing flavor between electron, muon and tau. How does that prove that neutrinos have mass? If they do have mass, then how can they arrive at the same time as the visible light from super novae that are many light years away? I would like to hear a general discussion about complex organic molecules in the Oort Cloud. I suspect that the cloud is full of them, but I have no evidence. We found amino acids on the Murchison meteorite. Meteors come from comets. Comets come from the Oort cloud. How best can we research this? Was the oblateness of the Earth greater a billion years ago?

Flat earth fails on every point. The geocentric flat earth has ... • No working model, or map. • No way to determine proper distances, or directions between two point on the earth not sharing the same longitude. • No explanation for how the sun and the moon circle the earth, or how the sun migrates from the tropic of Capricorn to the tropic of Cancer and back over the year. • No idea why the ancient Greeks such as Pythagoras, Aristotle, Eratosthenes and Aristarchus believed the earth was a sphere. • No idea what P and S shockwaves detected by seismology equipment tells us about the internal structure of the earth, and the shape and dimensions of the surface of the earth. • No idea what powers the sun and the stars. • No idea of the distance to the stars. • Clueless as to why almost all stars don't appear to change position in the sky from opposite sides of earth's orbit around the sun when the phenomena of parallax says they should, and why we can only use the parallax method for measuring the distance of stars that are closest to the earth. Luckily, Polaris is one that we can determine the distance to using parallax, because it is also a Cepheid variable star, which allows the distance to be measured to much more distant stars where the parallax method not longer works. • No idea of the distance from the earth to the planets, or even much about them at all. • No idea why binary stars obey Newton's law of gravitation. • No explanation as to why we can only see 59% of the total surface area of the moon when, from a flat earth perspective we should be able to see most of it, including the dark side of the moon. • No idea why the moon appears upside down in the southern hemisphere compared to how it looks in the northern hemisphere, and why the phases of the moon are on opposite sides of the Moon, and why it looks circular from all vantage points on the earth. • No idea why sunspots rotate in the opposite direction in the southern and northern hemispheres, or even what sun spots are. • No believable explanation for how GPS is implemented across the world. • No explanation as to why aircraft carry ring laser gyros onboard capable of detecting the rotation of the earth. • No idea how it is possible to develop gravitational maps of the earth's surface, or why anyone would want one, or how they could be used. • No explanation for how eclipses work, especially lunar eclipses, or how to predict them correctly. • No idea why the Humber bridge, the Verrazzano Narrows bridge are built to account for the earth's curvature. • No idea why CERN, LIGO and the Stanford linear accelerator vacuum rings and arms are constructed to take account of the earth's curvature. • No idea why physicists working on LIGO, the gravity wave detector, were awarded Nobel prizes in physics. • No idea why geodetic surveyors keep claiming the earth is an oblate spheroid. • No idea why Google Earth does not publish its underlying flat earth model that allows it to project the earth as a globe. • No explanation as to why the sun rises due east for everyone on the earth on the equinox. • No idea why an observer on the equator during an equinox does not see the sun set at an angle 19° above the horizon. • No idea why there should be a discernible horizon that looks like the edge of the ocean viewed from a beach. The horizon should really be a blur as the farther we look out across the flat earth, the more light is scattered and the more particles in the atmosphere obscuring the view. • No idea how it is possible to see the sun set twice simply by changing your height above the earth (quickly by just a few tens of metres). • No reasonable explanation as to how Polaris can be used in conjunction with a sextant in the northern hemisphere to determine latitude. • No explanation as to why the Artic and Antarctic experience months of days and nights at differ times of the year. • No explanation why bright little objects called satellites by some are regularly visible in the night sky following a predicted path across the sky • No explanation for how tides work. • No explanation how (most times) boats disappear over the horizon when they should be visible on a flat earth. • No explanation as to why the horizon does not rise to eye level. • No credible explanation why helium balloons fitted with non-fish eye cameras often detect the curvature of the earth. • No credible explanation for the existence of the "Downward" force called gravity. • No explanation that does not implicitly make use of the theory of gravity for the atmospheric pressure gradient from high to low pressure with altitude, especially if we live in a dome. • No idea why (almost without exception) hurricanes and typhoons rotate in opposite directions in northern and southern hemispheres respectively. • No explanation for the Coriolis effect observable in controlled experiments such as those conducted by Ascher H. Shapiro in the 1960s. • No explanation as to why the northern celestial pole rotates counter clockwise in the northern hemisphere, and the southern celestial pole rotates clockwise in the southern hemisphere. • No idea what Antarctica even looks like, and where the South Pole is physically located. • No idea why Venus has phases. Bye bye Geocentric system. • No idea why planets, e.g. Mars, exhibit retrograde motion. Hello Heliocentric system. • No idea why the planets and their moons in the solar system appear to be obeying Newton's laws of planetary motion. • No explanation whatsoever why Stellar Aberration occurs. • No idea why clouds are illuminated from the bottom at sun set. • Can't explain how a commercial aircraft can fly from Perth to Sydney in only 4 hours 10 mins across the flat earth, as to achieve this, it would need to fly faster than an F18 on afterburner all the way. • No idea why the CO2 atmosphere of Mars appears to "Cling" to the exterior of its spherical spinning surface without the need for physical containment. This phenomenon is observable on others planets too. • No idea why the sun and the moon don't change in angular size from rising to setting by a factor of 2 to 3 since they are local to the earth, and no idea why the sun according to the inverse law of radiation is not 4 to 9 times brighter at midday than at sunset and sunrise when viewed from Australia. • No credible reason why millions of people (mostly scientists, engineers and technicians ) over decades would lie to keep the globe earth alive, and why nations and commercial enterprises, accountable to the voters and shareholders respectively, would spend (waste) $2 trillion a year , each and every year to maintain the globe lie. • No idea how it is possible to measure the value of G, the universal gravitational constant and in so doing, verify the theory of gravity. • No scientific papers publish in the last 100 years supporting the flat earth. • No idea why there is snow on hight moutains with a local sun as it has to get warmer and snow should melt if you get closer to the sun. Now the globe earth and the heliocentric model have answers that are consistent with each other to all of the above that the flat earth can't explain, but the globe earth is wrong and the flat earth is correct , even although the flat earth model is almost useless at explaining anything? Have I understood the situation correctly? The flat earth is gaslighting to the power infinity

Q: Why aren't there ANY flat earth maps with a scale for distance? I know why, do you? A: FE map can't EVER get actual distances accurate compared to what we can easily observe. So by not providing a scale, reality is simply dismissed and stupid people fall for it. Q: Why aren't there ANY flat earth maps with cities shown? I know why, do you? A: Similar to Q1 above. You can't account for distances between cities compared to what we know for a fact. The better reason to include this question is the fact that on FE map, there will be countless examples of cities that are farther north or south of each other than what we know to be true. Q: Why aren't there ANY flat earth maps with countries' borders shown? I know why, do you? A: Pennsylvania has 3 straight line borders with neighboring states and we can survey these borders proving this. On FE map, these borders become increasingly exaggerated curves the farther south you go. In Australia, it gets worse. 90% (or more) of their borders are straight but on FE map they'd be severely curved. Experiment: Pick 2 towns in America that are 200 miles* apart and connect them with a straight line**. Pick 2 towns in Australia that are 200 miles* apart and connect them with a straight line**. On FE map these 2 lines will be different lengths. How can 200 miles* be shorter in the northern hemisphere than 200 miles* in the southern hemisphere? It can't happen. 200 miles = 200 miles... ALWAYS...EVERYWHERE. Here ya go, I did it for you. 200 miles apart in America: Buffalo, NY to New Hartford, NY = 194 miles*** 200 miles apart in Australia: Wilcannia, NSW, Australia to Canbelego, NSW, Australia = 191 miles*** * Use any distance you want but make sure the towns in both countries are east/west of each other (on a globe). ** If these lines aren't straight enough for you, then there's no hope. You're gone. *** If these values aren't close enough to 200 miles for you and you want to use that to prove me wrong, then that's even more pathetic than simply admitting you're wrong. Good luck on that one... Now it's time for the bonus round where the prize is the truth!! Perth, Australia to Sydney, Australia = 2448 miles, driving. Draw a straight line on FE map. Los Angeles, CA to Florence, SC = 2477 miles, driving. Draw a straight line on FE map. The Aussie line is 83% longer than the American line. How can that be? Maybe the American road has a LOT more turns. OK, fine. How many miles by air are both routes? Aussie route = 2049 miles & American route = 2192 miles. The American distance is greater but the line drawn is MUCH shorter. The FE map is false to the point of being laughably ridiculous and fraudulent. I'll come back soon to see that my comment was deleted. You certainly can't have the truth seeping through your lies, so I get it.

So by this logic (and no, I am not a Flat Earther), in a primarily American *Christian* society, if people who believe in other religions (Buddhism, Islam or even Jehovah Witnesses) would go from door to door to 'persuade' others to join that particular religion, is that also considered an "unhealthy situation", because those religions have far more other cultural ideas than the Christian religion. The norms and values within those religions are sometimes completely against Western society. Still, they are allowed to practice it, build their places of worship and actively 'recruit' people to join them. But nobody stops that.

Thank you! I've bee saying for years that debating is no way to settle a disagreement. In a debate, you can't change or modify your position, you can't go away and come back later when you have new information, you can't do actual experiments, and you can't agree to disagree. It doesn't reach scientific truths. It doesn't change anyone's mind. It doesn't even settle courtroom disagreements, because courtrooms have rules and procedures that aren't reflected in formal debates. It doesn't even really affect the way people vote, because most people's minds are made up before the debate even starts. The only thing a debate is good for is a "game" played by high school students. Plus, when you debate someone who clearly has no basis or expertise, you present the other person as an "equal" to yourself, and in the process, partially validates any ridiculous position.

No, because it's actually not as much about the shape of the earth. While the shape of the earth is part of it, you also have to look at the psychological aspect of it. Really all it is is just people who've failed at life and have nothing better to do than become a victim of an imaginary system that they created to hold some sort of moral superiority over everyone else rather than taking accountability for their failures to learn anything and lack of good life choices. So, it's not so much about the shape of the earth. It's more about the psychology of delusional narcissists. You can teach facts to them, but at the end of the day, nothing is going to persuade them back into reality. They ask for proof, but then when you give it to them, they ignore it and ask it again, then pass that off as critical thinking. The thing is, they don't actually want proof. Because if they did, they'd do their own research. But they don't because they know it'll give them a definitive answer. But not the answer they want. They care more about their bubble than actual truth. They hold double standards when it comes to evidence, and their delusional narcissism is keeping them from realizing that they've fallen for a lie.

Can you please explain why a flat earther has never ever gone to the edge of the flat earth and taken pictures to prove that there is an edge? Can you tell me about the other planets, are they also flat? How come all of the other planets look like round globes, and their rotation can be observed? Why are all of the other planets different from our planet? What holds up the sun so that it can go around in a circle above the flat earth? What makes the sun move? What holds the moon up in the sky and why do the sun and the moon never collide as they are circling in the sky over the flat earth? Can you please explain how thick is the disk, and what is on the other side? If I drill all the way through the disk what would l see on the other side? We know that volcano's spew out molten magma but where does all of that hot magma live when it’s not actually blowing out of a volcano and what heats it up so that the rocks melt? You tell us that there is no gravity, and you tell us that everything can be explained by density and buoyancy, but how do they work without gravity? What makes a lighter thing rise, and a heavier thing fall if there is no such thing as gravity? You don’t have a map. You can’t tell me, using fe cosmology, when and where the solar eclipse in 2030 will happen. You pretend there isn’t a south celestial pole. You pretend anybody can’t just snap a photo of the iss with a decent camera or a telescope. You pretend we haven’t bounced radio waves and lasers off the moon. Y’all keeping it real just means head stuck in the sand. When you’ve produced something useful let me know, then I’ll start taking you seriously. Until then, y’all just an example of what not to be.

@@sphaera2520 lol sure I'll take a shot at you on this one tuff guy. Let's start with the "yall dont have a map". Ok humans have been traveling by sea for well over a thousand years using said "maps". The earth has been round for what the last 500 or so years? So why did the flat earth maps work so go before the earth was round? Have you ever seen how they make a globe. They simply take the old flat map and make it into a ball. It's the same map. Now big guy which one was here first? I know that's tuff but I'll help you out, the flat one was here first. Next there are plenty of pictures of the ice walls you are just not willing to understand how brain washed you are to get it. Let's put it in a way that makes money, since that is what makes the world go around lol. As told by the first recorded person to reach said south pole there are mountains of coal, enough oil to supply the earth for 500 years and uranium but no one can even petition to go there for the natural resources because of penguins? That was signed into effect 1 December 1959. And was signed by countries that were at war fighting over the very shit that was there. Not only can no company go get it no one can just go visit the place. Lastly you talk about bouncing shit off the moon. Ok so I'm gonna go out on a limb you would say we have went to the moon? That means that on 6 different trips a total of 12 men defied all medical proof and breathed 100% oxygen and not only didn't die but never passed out or had any medical problems after. For starters we can not breath 100% oxygen for long periods. You have to have nitrogen in the system or it doesn't work correctly. Any doctor can confirm this. 1 day ok 2 days ayah ok 3 days hhhhhmmm dizzy and passed out. 4 days comma. 6 days death by suffocating. That's right little fella, in a 100% oxygen environment we will actually suffocate. Poor guy I know your brain hurts right now but I if you take the nitrogen out of the system the alveoli that are elastic will close and then there is no gas exchange in the lungs. This means medically no person could have gone to the moon which is where all the ball earth pictures came from. And to back up said claim NASA admittedly lost and destroyed all telemetry data that proves they did go lol. How convenient. How was that for round 1 little tuff guy?

Because if your talking "8 inches per mile squared" that isn't accurate at one mile, let alone 10 miles. There's also this thing called REFRACTION, maybe you should learn about it. Every "impossible photo" the globe denying retards has attempted to use to show "no curvature" actually SHOWS CURVATURE when you use the correct math, and the proper observer heights. Globe confirmed 3. No it doesn't. Go look at a raindrop. That isn't "flat or level". 4. Sorry, but documented evidence says that Polaris hasn't always been the pole star, and as we can see by the documented drift of Polaris, it wont always be the north pole star. No constellations don't remain fixed, we've had to adjust the dates of the zodiac because they have drifted over the centuries. How about you go learn about frames of reference. When you understand how things works, you understand that all of your claims are baseless. Btw, how do you explain the southern rotational pole? That is completely impossible on your pizza planet. 5. But it isn't. 6. Navy rail gun isn't a line of sight weapon, so I don't know how you think this "prove" your flat earth. 7. I've yet to see a PROPERLY DONE laser test by a globe denying retard. The only one that I have seen that WAS DONE PROPER showed curvature. Globe confirmed.

Opinions can be wrong. The antonym of Facts isn’t opinions, it is lies.
@carultch3 жыл бұрын
No, that isn't true. Facts and opinions are antonyms. A fact is a statement that is objective, and is possible to prove correct or incorrect. We all know that a statement such as "Mars is blue" is objectively untrue. Everyone who knows what Mars is, and what blue is, will disagree with this statement. But "Mars is blue" is still a fact. It is a statement that is not subject to anyone's preference or interpretation. A fact is still a fact whether it is true or false. What makes it a fact, is whether it is possible to prove it to be either true or false. An opinion is a statement that is subjective, and is an expression of personal preference. An opinion could have some basis in fact, or it could have no factual basis at all. It is common that opinions are about something that has no reason to even be based in fact in the first place. A statement like "I think Michaelangelo is the greatest artist of all time", is an opinion. Someone else might have a different taste in art, and prefer DaVinci's work instead. You can't really prove what a person's preference is, and it is something about them that can change with time. A judgement is the middle ground between facts and opinions. This is a statement that is not completely objective, but that uses true facts to support it. It will depend on the judger's analysis of the facts, and someone else might disagree with the analysis. Someone else might have more information to show that the methods of the analysis are unsound. A judgement is what makes a good subject of debate, because it isn't objective whether it is correct or incorrect, and it is a statement that can be supported with factual evidence.

Which a lot of people have, and arrived at the conclusion that the earth is a globe due to the overwhelming amounts of evidence supporting it and the overwhelming amount of evidence disproving a flat earth. How is the Coriolis effect possible on a flat earth where there is no rotation. How do tectonic plates fit and what would cause their movement? How is it possible for stars to seemingly rotate around the southern celestial pole when there is no south pole? How is it possible that every astrophysicist, geologist, meteorologist, government official, pilot and shit tons of other people are somehow in on the same thing? We're talking 10s of millions of people, if not 100s, actively devoting large parts of their lives to spread a supposed lie, how likely do you think that is?

Any person can see the moon in detail with a telescope, then why can't you see land on the other side of the ocean, if the earth is flat?
@Chris-hx3om4 жыл бұрын
The argument is that the moon (and the sun) are only 5,000 kilometres away... But you have a good point. Along with the stars rotating CW in the Southern sky and CCW in the Northern. And about 50 other points.

Even if the earth is flat you would never ever see anything through that much haze of atmosphere I’ve looked through plenty of telescopes at distant object in the sky and on earth and if you are looking at something on the ground but distant it’s like looking through water after so long. Extremely hazy. Look at those images of Area 51 from that mountain peak what 15 miles away or so, you can see the base but at the same time you see absolutely nothing it’s so hazy and obfuscated.

Ryan - go take Art class 101, and learn about Perspective! and convergence! there is a thing called a perspective Ramp! the ground (not literally, but seemingly, due to perspective) Rises up, and things lower that're above, such as street lamp seem to lower to the ground upon looking down/up a long straight flat street or etc, mkay kiddo? NightyNite sleepyhead Zzz..

The vanishing point does not manifest as a local horizon. Try again.

Mike, perspective causes things to appear smaller as they recede away from the observer. Perspective lines are always parallel which means *they never meet.* Your description violates these rules. You can do better than that.

There is a flight instructor in the church I attend. He said all of the flight instruments were engineered according the globed Earth. Question for flat earthers: 1. Is he a Satanist infiltrating the church? 2. If I learn to fly the planes, do I also become a Satanist?

His first point is absolutely vital: A person citing objective truth could "lose" a debate simply because the one not doing so is likeable and charismatic. I learned very quickly that the only time to think about engaging a flat-earther is on a truly public forum where they're raising questions that might confuse onlookers.
Bernard Vorac can you see Mt Everest from New York w/ a good enough telescope?
@bernardvorac1124 жыл бұрын
David Smith No because air is a fluid. A thin fluid to be sure, but still a fluid. 7400 miles separate NYC from Mount Everest. 7400 miles of thin fluid is enough to distort the image, making it impossible to see at that distance. Everest is shrouded in the clouds, in addition to the fact there are two dozen rain storms raging in between at any given time.
@SmartDave604 жыл бұрын
Bernard Vorac how come we can see thru the the thin fluid in the air to see the moon, stars, planets which are thousands of miles away.
@bernardvorac1124 жыл бұрын
David Smith Because in the flat earth model they are not billions of miles away. They are in the firmament, about a few hundred miles up. I know it’s a lot to take in. I went through the same process of disbelief.

Bernard Vorac ok but in a vacuum you could set up a telescope and see Mt Everest from NY.
