Toilet constantly filling, this could be the cause.

@ncolli1981.Thank you for this sir. Same symptom as yours on our main bathroom toilet cistern - slow filling after flushing. Followed your directions and removed the diaphragm as shown. Unlike yours - which was torn, ours looked completely intact and had not perished. However, when I compared the old to the new replacement diaphragm, the old part had softened, kind of lost it's "resistance" and did not hold tightly onto the plastic insert (the part with the guide peg). That rubber/PVC/? material of the diaphragm can only open and close so many times before it gives up! Re - assembled the filling valve as you showed, turned water back on and tested. All working perfectly! Thank you again for sharing your experience with all of us. Seasons Greetings to you and yours. Stay safe and well.

Thanks for this. Our problem is that the top valve with the white plunger seemed stuck so when we saw your video we pushed the plunger a little and the water began to fill the cistern but soon stopped abruptly even though that top ‘plunger’ was slightly in a down position as in your video. So no water flows from the top. We know that the pressure is reaching the top because if we take the side bit off with that tiny Pinole in is we get a good flow. I think we need a whole new inflow mechanism.

I ended up replacing all of the systems in our toilets with these www.screwfix.com/p/viva-universal-4-in-1-fill-valve/1650h

You know the valve itself it twists if you twist it around and you don't need to turn off the waters do it should stop keep jamming too

I've changed it and no water is leaking from it. It now fills fast but then overflows(it didn't before only leaked/hissed and filled slow) the float is now the problem, float valve doesn't come all the way back up. Got one problem sorted but caused another. I've adjusted the height to as far as I can go but it's still not coming all the way up. Any ideas?

I did what you did in the video and the water is still flowing out of the hole in the lever arm. is there something I did wrong?
@ncolli19815 жыл бұрын
musizlover2008 I have never had that problem, are you sure the diaphragm is fitted correctly? Take it all apart and put it back together, clean any parts that need it.
@ncolli19815 жыл бұрын
musizlover2008 or try posting a video after it is fitted showing the issue
@musizlover20085 жыл бұрын
@@ncolli1981 yes, i'am sure I put the diaphragm correctly. Is there a part missing? like a small rubber piece for the lever arm to stop the water flow? if not, then i'll try to check every part and see if the new diaphragm is not faulty.
