I meant to make the next part of my Shadow Weaver-batching session, but I woke up at 3 am on the day I was supposed to write the script and decided to hold off so I could articulate my thoughts better. So here you go. Lord willing, I’ll be back next week on that series.

I can explain. SPOILERS FOR BUG FABLES BELOW. LIKE, SERIOUS SPOILERS. ... See, the Roaches (the ancient people of the game) wanted to achieve immortality. So they experimented with cordyceps fungi on different bugs. Cordyceps basically kills the bug and takes over its body, moving its muscles and becoming a bit of a zombie (it’s a real thing). If the bug was living and got infected, it turned into a terrifying creature - that’s Zommoth, the sister, the moth on the right. Leif was also infected. Many years after Zommoth broke free and killed everyone, Leif ventured into Snakemouth Den (which is directly below the lab where these horrid experiments were performed). However, he died before it infected him, and what’s unique about his case is that his cordyceps grew sentient somehow. So essentially what it did was revive him and pick up all his memories, so it became, for all intents and purposes, Leif again. However, the cordyceps is aware it and the remnant of Leif’s mind are technically two different entities, so when Leif talks, he uses “we” and “us” instead of “I” and “me”.
