Hello everyone, today let's see how to prepare an authentic recipe from Sicily: SICILIAN LEMON GRANITA! It is a semi-frozen dessert typical of the Sicilian tradition, which is enjoyed at breakfast or with the fantastic brioche with "tuppo". Its origins date back to 2000 BC, when in the Hindu Kush mountains (mountain range between Afghanistan and Pakistan) where a similar dessert made with rice, snow and spices was consumed. It arrived in Arab Sicily only in the Middle Ages, when the Nivaroli transported the snow of Etna to special caves where it remained fresh all year round. In the twentieth century the recipe was improved, with the advent of citrus juices and with ice instead of snow. The lemon granita is really refreshing especially in summer and with a few ingredients you can also prepare it at home with great simplicity !!

750ml (3 and a half cups) of purified natural water or from the bottle
300ml (1 cup and a half) of juice from Sicilian organic lemons
200 grams (1 cup) of sugar (if you like it sweeter you can add 50-70 grams of sugar)
zest of an organic lemon
