You keep crushing it, Lex 👊 Edit: Oh hey, it's a first comment! 😄 Second edit: I think I would've checked the turn with 69hh. And if I did call the check raise, then I probably would've folded the river. It just felt like he DID have the flush and probably was betting on the fact that you'd c-bet as the initial aggressor in position (for a double check raise).

Any one who pulls that “hit an run” BS is scared money all day bro!! Other aspect of it is who knows what that guy was going through in his life right now and what kinda session he had prior to sitting into your game, could have been down heaps an got back enough money to keep a roof over his head another month…. I also think he isn’t seeing his mistakes. At the end he says other then the run bad and the last flush hand it was a good session. He didn’t run bad he play a shity hand and got punished and then made a call when it was pretty clear the dude had either a str8 or flopped set. He took a gamble and lost, which if your playing poker for a living you shouldn’t be gambling you should be playing smart sound poker to make a profit. He also seems to have an issue with leaving once he’s up 2-3k and says things like I been playing for 6 hours and with 2 more hours to play. I don’t understand that at all why does he have 2 more hours to play. He doesn’t have to play for a certain amount of time he can leave whenever he wants. Double he money and was up 3k he should have racked up and booked that win.

The 69hh hand.. yes the open was too light but I think the critical mistake was betting flop in position. The 10 high board hits the blinds’ ranges too hard and on top of that we’re multi-way. Totally different than if you’re HU and the board comes something like A6x/K6x where a bet makes a lot of sense to deny equity/keep control of the hand IP. Imagine we checked back flop, SB bets turn 3/4, we call, the pot is only $350 on the river. Even if we call a pot sized bet we save a massive amount by not bloating the pot on the flop. Great example how mistakes on earlier streets multiply by the river.

I have ambivalent feelings about "Hit & Runners". It's poor sportsmanship, but It's their money. They can do as they please. It's like when other players criticize your play: "Why did you make that call?", "Why did you raise that?" or whatever....I don't do it. It's your money. Play and bet and fold any way you want to. I played 2/5 here a few days ago. 2nd time playing 2/5 Live poker. I played about a little over an hour and was in for 500 out for 1558. I wasn’t planning on playing long, so i guess I should have said that, but the guy who I stacked twice took it like a champ and was laughing about the fight I was in that I am about to explain. Although, this 47yr old(im 22) started saying I was hit and running, and I played about 7-10 orbits after stacking the other guy twice, but this guy who was drinking wouldn’t shut up and we really started arguing and it got loud and almost to the fist fighting point. I was pissed because I didn’t even get involved in a hand with the guy and apparently he’s known for causing issues. I eventually just walked away and played the tournament I was looking at and placed 18/189 for my first live MTT cash and it was my 2nd live tournament. Also, you played well this vlog, but playing 69 on a wet board even with two pair was just a mistake, fold the flop and wait for a better spot or fold turn. I think that costed you and you could have called it a day with a nice profit.

@pelicanproperties2 жыл бұрын
Like your vlog, very honest and entertaining. Regarding the Hit and Run hand: There was $300 in the pot when the villain shoved all in for over $2200.This has coin flip all over it. If a random stranger walked up to you and offered a literal coin flip, heads or tails, for $2200 each would you take it? Of course not. Yes, in strict poker odds terms you were probably right to call and you could easily have won that $5000 pot but Villain reduced YOUR game, which you had profitably played for hours that night, to a virtual coin flip. He let you negate all of your poker skills in one hand. If you're happy to lose on a hand like that and dip into your pocket for another few buy ins, fine. But you clearly were not happy and so should never had made the call. Fold, put him on tilt with his flopped straight for a tiny win and wait for a better opportunity to stack him. As far as him getting up and leaving, nothing wrong with that. He gambled and won, he could just have easily have lost. At least he's being honest rather than fake folding for an orbit in the name of fake poker etiquette.
@devintittle80962 жыл бұрын
The thing is I’d agree with you but lex has the very best hand he could have in this spot, he had about 50% or more equity against all hands he could be up against save a few, what happens if the villain had raised a normal amount then shoved turn? I think it’s ok to get rid of a lot of hands there but when you have such a strong hand that covers everything, I think it’s ok to get the money in from a logical standpoint, maybe not a strategy standpoint. Sad he couldn’t win this won though, very annoying
@devintittle80962 жыл бұрын
Even against the main hands I see him doing this with, Ace Face of spades lex is 2:1 odds, Ace Five of spades he’s a little over 50%, and Four Five he’s a little over 50%. It’s rare you get a hand that’s a little ahead of basically any scenario, so for that amount of money plus the benefit of knowing you aren’t really absolutely dead to anything, feels like a safe bet to me. I also believe that in poker it’s hard to get people to commit huge amounts of money unless they’re coolering the hell out of you, so it’s good to find these spots where you’re getting the best odds you can for piles of cash.

I'm a three to four day a week, local, rec type player (small stake mostly). I am analyzing from the "Villan's" point of view. In this case, he entered the pot with 4-5 off-suite, clearly a speculative hand at best, but one that a Rec player may call. When he flops the bottom end of the straight and Lex bets 100, then gets called... with the action on him (with another player to act behind) ... I can see why he maybe jams in this spot... especially if he is a real Rec player and a Gambler. I realize that he could end up losing to a lot of hands; higher straights, sets, two-pairs and some draw-hands not yet made. However, with flopped bottom end of the straight, he's probably thinking that he's at least ahead in that moment and doesn't want to allow other hands that he is currently beating to catch up... so why not put the other players on the gamble while he's ahead (put the pressure and decision on them). I actually like the play personally. In all reality, I'm betting that the player really just wanted to get three folds to him and take down the pot (as it was $415 roughly, and probably a good win for him). I also don't mind Lex's call here, if he was in fact looking to gamble it up (maybe for the vlog). Anyway, that's my though process as it relates to this hand... In the end I'm sure that the player was relieved that his hand held. I do agree that the player should have sat another orbit or so... he did not have to announce his intentions and could have left the game a little more sportingly and with a pinch more class. In closing, I enjoyed the content and reading the comments. We've all had those rough days.

So what if Lex had hit a full house? Would you have posted the same comment? Its wrong to base poker thinking on results instead of math & situation. Nobody is going to include 69 in his pre-flop range so yes it’s loose play to not fold pre-flop but if he did end up filling up, then he can potentially win a huge pot. Normally two pairs is going to take down the pot. Even though it is usually bad to call big turn/river bets, it is still a sometimes call situation. I have no actual idea but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was a 30 percent of the time call.

That last hand you indicate you were 4% ahead but I think from a range vs range you would have been behind. Also, let's say you knew exactly that you were 4% ahead - would you still call an all in? Are you good with a coin flip for all your chips? To me, that is creating more variance in your game than you need. Finally, remember the adage, you must have a better hand to call the hand who raised. That saying can save you a lot of money! But maybe I am too much of a nit. Good Luck!

w/ the 69 2-pr vs Khigh flush, the big point was the turn action. And the double xr ESPECIALLY with a min-click is always sooooo strong. What is the value range your repping on turn turn? Are you trying to rep a flush yourself? what hands in your range call a xr on the flop and then bet that turn card? over pairs don't, and I'm surprised you did with a weak 2-pr. That line is so polarizing to nutted flushes (or I guess Khigh in this case). Plus, by betting and calling turn, you have to know that you'll be facing a large bet on river.
@Nosirt2 жыл бұрын
It’s so weird everyone here says the same shit of “it’s so polarized” yet somehow all come to the same conclusion of “he had a flush! It’s so OBIOUS!!!!” He check raised the flop with a flush draw, he check raised the turn with a flush, and he bet the river. This live is not at all common with flush draws. If he had check/called, or bet on the flop and bet if the turn, the flush would be more OBIOUS. The line he took netted him profits. We have 2 pair and the guy is saying he has a flush or Ax holding. Check raising the flop feels like AT- check raising turn also would be A ♦️Tx type hand. That last river call was not bad as so many here make it out to be. Raising preflop with it was bad and maybe the flop was being a bit sticky but everything after was good.

It seems that your game has been affected by your recent misfortunes. I’ve been playing for about 20 yrs now and we all go through our downswings. Sometimes it’s quite substantial and can be emotionally draining. Thankfully for me, poker isn’t what I do for a living so the downswings have little financial toll…but it sucks nevertheless. But I use to really like your play but lately, I’m noticing many holes in your game. Having a downswing can do that sometimes. I’m not sure of this recent run’s impact on your bankroll, and subsequently your game. If such is the case, you may want to drop down limits for a while and rebuild.

The hit and run hand was foldable against a huge over-bet IMO. Without the nuts or top set (or at least ace high flush draw with a pair), I’d just fold. Maybe that’s weak of me but, just not worth the risk to me for that amount.

Absolutely hate it and we all know who those players are and I never give them action unless I have a made hand. I completely understand walking away after that. The frustration level would have been through the roof and there's always tomorrow...

Maybe he was taking a shot at higher stakes! At the end of the day it’s your money and you play it how you want. Don’t feel like you need to play if you don’t want to! Gamble responsibly and have a plan! Sounds like the guy had a plan to double up and call it quits beforehand.

Raising 69 pre is whatever, just don't do it all the time. But you gotta know how to play these weaker hands post flop or that's when you get rekt. Insta fold flop raise, fold turn check raise (odds/implied offs are not there to hit a bad full house), insta fold value bet river.

I feel like whenever someone is thought to be “good for the game” it means they are fishy and someone that everyone wants at their table since they’re presumably easy to make money off of

Hit and Running means nothing. If people want to leave, I’d rather they do that than lock up the win and just waste a seat

You have to stay at least one orbit. In some European casinos, you have to stay for at least 4 hours or until you bust. It all went downhill on the 69 suited….

Sorry about the hit and run guy. Being a professional poker player is a tough way to make an easy living.

Tough love coming at you. I don’t think your emotionally strong enough to play poker for a living. At the end of the video you say run bad. No, it was okay bad. Your trying to play like the guys on hustlers live stream ho rip it in all the time. Those guys are loaded and have expendable money. You seem happy when you see a “gambler” sit down at the table. It seems when you see a “gambler” you instantly become one too, which means your leaning on luck more than skill. Play 1/2 or play 2/5 where you KNOW your one of the two best players at the table. My thoughts.
