I've had the hospital send me my test results before my follow up appointment because it takes so damn long to get schedule. My last GI results stated "as seen with patients with celiac disease." I got my MRI results and see it mention "cancer." I don't have either of these things but seeing something like that on your test results, you kinda freak out. This guy needs to get a life. This is someone from a chronic and debilitating disease. He is just mad because more people are worried that Ethan might have a disease then his "actual" disease.

They should believe that you are experiencing the symptoms you are telling them. Then they will order tests. Kaiser can be pretty terrible, Ethan is not wrong. I spent a year bed bound being told I had normal wear and tear arthritis in my 20s. Had to fight for a second opinion and got a diagnosis for auto immune disease. This guy is being dramatic for sure. Nothing Ethan is saying is bad, you do have to give your providers feedback and deal with bureaucracy.

I enjoyed and appreciated the majority of your commentary. 👍 I did want to explain the "chronic illness community" phrase some as I feel many people have a very negative understanding of it, and I want to explain how it can be very impowering. It's all how you use it. A lot of the time, when people with long-term medical conditions speak about the "chronic illness community," they are just referring to a group of friends who also have long-term medical conditions. It's a friendship circle or a hashtag to find role models of those who have been diagnosed for a while and have found how to move forward with their life in their new normal. It's honestly very impowering. It's an easy way to catergorized a group of friends. It's very isolating to become ill and have no one in your life who understands what you are going through. Making friends with other people who just get it helps you take action, have emotional support, grieve your losses, accept your new normal, and move forward. Oftentimes, ablebodied people can't handle the emotions that come with being ill. They can't support those who are ill quite like someone who has been through it. Having labwork, procedures, side effects, and symptoms can start to become everyday stressors for someone ill but can seem very scary or offputting to healthy loved ones. Having a community gives those who are ill an outlet. Its like a hobby you never wanted but have to invest time into if you ever want to figure out how to keep going in a situation that others claim they would never want to live through. Why not have a community where you don't have to fake being well around, and you can just live. 😅 Ethan's jokes, sharing his experience with trying to figure out what is going on, is super relatable. Several of us with chronic illnesses from H3's community 😜 found it funny and do not take him as some sort of authority on health. Dolittle is reaching. Ill people have some of the sickest senses of humor I know (pun intended). ❤

quick note.. Dr K is, infact, an MD. in order to become a psychiatrist (not therapist/psychologist), you need to go through medical school just like anyone else going for a doctors degree.. THEN they can specialize in whatever they want.. ie, cardio, general, surgical, and then also, Psychiatry.. meaning they have the same rights to write perscriptions to medication as any doctor and be on par with pertinent info. Now, would Dr K specifically be able to give treatment/advice on anything non psych related.. if he's up to par on the latest stuff, yes he can. this compared to Therapists who require just a Master's degree on top of their initial degree. This is what i did.. I can't write scripts or officially diagnose. however, I'm the middle-girl for anyone seeking treatment for complex mental disorders (my specialty), where i am in charge of teaching my clients whatever they need for a better quality of life.. I teach DBT so I'm more in non-medical treatment of personality disorders and teaching youngins how to learn to accept, cope, and love themselves. As a dude who has a few chronic illnesses, the two most debilitating are fibromyalgia and Thallesemia, its pretty hard to justify your existence at times. A lot of people dont believe you or call it disease for women whatever tf. All of this whining by the rich whose disease is not having disease i wish would just shut the f*ck up about it lmao.
