Sid Millward lived across the road from me in N London in the 50's and 60's. He always drove exotic cars from the US or Europe which were very unusual then. He was away a lot touring in Europe and US so we didnt often see him.

The guitarist in the kilt was Ronnie Genarder (John Gardner) my great uncle. So glad for the family to see this...I was just born when this show was aired! Thanks for sharing! Sadly he died in 1972, so I never really got to know him.

not sure he was actually playing that guitar, very odd chords if he was.....but your links to a relative are very interesting. Was he English or from overseas ?

The 'Duke of Dewsbury' was Tony Traversi from Llandudno, North Wales, UK. He was the son of the bandmaster of the Llandudno Town Band, F L Traversi. Tony was a cornet virtuoso but could also play pretty much any instrument. He also made quite a few! Tony went on to continue this comic tradition with his own group Nuts and Bolts.

The small violistist with the teapot etc was Charlie Rossi, who used to be a Crackpot with Dr Crock before joining the Nitwits. Never realised how funny he (and the others) were but, of course, they were all first class musicians too.
