Sid didn't kill Nancy. Sid was too messed up to even wake up. In their interview Sid was nodding out from heroine and when Nancy said, "oh no sid!" It shook him out of it and he became concerned for her. He loved her alot. The night she died he had taken pills and couldn't have woken up. Plus, when Sid and Nancy would argue, everyone would hear them. That night there was no arguments. Sid woke up and Nancy was dead. The money was gone and the knife that killed her was wiped clean. Sid would have been covered in blood if he did it and IF he was even the slightest bit coherent to wake up and kill her (which he couldn't have possibly been) then why would he rob (basically himself) and clean the knife? It hits close to home with myself since I wholly relate and recall the sort of feelings that propel one to fix their gaze at nothing, wanting nothing, and feeling like I've lost everything with no will to keep going. That is why this interview always stuck in my head for a long time. I don't know if Sid ever had a chance considering that on top of everything else, there was no shortage of other punk kids and fans piling on each other to give him free drugs along with his mother more than content to apparently shoot him up a fatal dose in some act of mercy. Sid was a human being and I think a lot of people forget that when they deify him as a punk rock image for T-shirts rather than realizing he was the son of a drug addict mother who didn't even make it past 21.

That is the real Sid. No mask, no interest in shocking anyone like you would usually see. He is completely transparent here. That is the biggest clue you can get that he is done at this point.

The over dose that killed him was intentional . He used the heroin to commit suicide. His mother found his suicide note in his jacket a week after his funeral. I kinda don’t blame him. He was facing a long sentence for murdering Nancey and Sid wasnt a tough guy. He would have got eaten alive in prison.

Hard to feel sorry for this guy, he abused and tortured animals, smashed a broken bottle into a man’s face, beat a man with a bike lock and god knows whether he murdered and abused his girlfriend or not. I understand heroin makes you go nuts but never thought people would do such damnedest things like that. He should've thought twice, but never did. To me, that's not punk.

It was a toxic relationship. She was a leech & they were just being junkies together which is never a good idea especially so when you are barely out of your' teens. Sad she died & almost sadder that Sids Mum gave him his final OD. All the Pistols said that she was bad for him. Sometimes only other people can see how bad someone or thing is for you & how it's destroying you. People did try & help but maybe not enough? Still. They'll never get old.

Sid had the great misfortune of meeting Nancy Spungen. Nancy had a death-wish. She was very mentally disturbed and tricked Sid into falling for her and agreeing to sharing her death wish. Poor Sid was not Nancy's first choice of victim, she first tried to get to Jerry Nolan, and then to Johnny Rotten, before finally entrapping Sid. She re-introduced Sid to heroin and got him hooked which was the vehicle for his death. Their love for each other burned hotter than any flame, but it was a twisted and killing type of love. They fought constantly, and violently. They were matter and anti-matter, doomed to destroy each other.

Been there, (barely) survived that; but yr pretty spot-on. Add to that everything that came before (upbringing/homelife) & volatile becomes the familiar, steady-state. Yeah, Nancy fucked up punk, for Syd & in general, but it's easy to get caught-up, esp when already wounded. It was a great time to be self-destructive. These kids weren't alone in that respect. It was the perfect pay-back for being robbed at birth. It might destroy u end the end, but boy we sure showed them, didn't we? You know, the I'll kill myself before I'll let u drive me crazy mindset? Punkrock was perfect for that. Doomed by choice isn't always as cut & dry as it seems. Rock in Peace & Blessed be the Broken.

Poor Sid: he thought he was having fun until the reality of his lifestyle hit him hard. It also hit Nancy hard, poor girl too. Two broken people living the rock & roll lifestyle to the limit, hooked on drugs to hide from their demons and living together in the same (small) space: it was certainly a recipe for disaster. It wasn't properly investigated so you can't trust the accuracy of the evidence that has been reported, and you certainly can't trust the statements given by the kind of people who lived or "moved around" the Chelsea Hotel. We'll probably never know what happened exactly. RIP Nancy and Sid.

Nancy used to fight with her dealer all the time. Because his shit was often weak. We know this from ceveral sources. We also know that Nancy picked fights if she was drunk. In her system a lot of drugs and alcohol were found. She first laid in the bed after being stabbed somewhere else. Than went to the bathroom and she passed out from blood loss and fell down to her death. Sid was found with no blood on him passed out against the wall, his knife clean laying on the opposite side of the room and a bloody knife that was bought in the treet that day by an unknown person. When a friend came to meet up he saw the blood and called the cops. Sid with enough booze and drugs in his system had to be carried out as he was barely able to stand. The officers said to him he killed her and her repeated it. Later when he was sober he denied he killed her and has no memory of the evening. All he knew the took drugs and he had fallen asleep.
@femke63133 жыл бұрын
When he got arrested he was raped in prison and when Malcom got him out he slit his wrists in the bathroom and when he returned from the hospital his mother picked him up. She bought heroine for him. One of the friends who was also present remembers his mom being asked to help him shoot up some more and she gave him a dosage that would have killed a horse. The same woman who gave him drugs on his 16th birthday and was a junky for as long as sid had lived. Sid didn't have a chance ... anywhere he was doomed from the start.
