Shocking but true. Great insight Siddharth. Yes I will change my smartphone after 2-3 years only to contribute my bit for the workers in DRC. This also reminds of the story of the boy and starfish on the beach. Every bit counts.

Since professor is a lawyer. he should consider filing a law suit for Congo worker in US courts. If stopped by low bench judge, appeal all the way to the supremes.

People buying EVS need to contact the EV companies and tell them you won't buy their EVS until they clean up the supply chain of cobalt as well as lithium.

For the record, Chinese battery electric vehicle manufacturers do not use cobalt. The materials used are lithium, ferrous,phosphate LFP. The teslas made in Giga Shanghai and the automobiles made by BYD do not have cobalt in them. Every show that this guy appears on, or the interviewers on the show, never mention this. Cobalt is used to make batteries by Japanese, Korean and US manufacturers.
