I currently have Vette Packs on my 65 427. They are super, unpleasantly loud. Almost like straight pipes Based on your video I bought Doug's 950's. I haven't installed them yet. Since the inner tube is only 2' I'm assuming they're pretty restrictive, though at this point I'll take the tradeoff. Do you think you lost much power with the Doug's?

The Doug's D- 950 inserts sound great not sure if I want to get those or the reverse flow mufflers yet, don't want it to be overly loud.

Quick question how in the hell do you mount the sidepipes I can’t fit both sides of the rubber grommet on that t bolt with a washer lock wash and nut I’m about to lose my mind every time I try I either push the bolt into the frame too far or I have like 1/10 of a thread to work with.

The way you’re supposed to do it is attach the T bolt then turn it so it goes into the slot. Then when you start tightening it rotates in the slot and stays. Might have to stick a screwdriver in there to prevent it from turning more. Doesn’t always work that way but that’s how they’re supposed to work. So thread the T bolt all together with washers on the tab then push it in. Hope his makes sense.

@@jshipley001ok i was thinking it was something like that. I tried it and got the closest just couldn’t get it to turn but that makes sense just gotta be more patient. Just rebuilt the entire drive train and so close to the end I just wanna take her for a spin already! Lol thanks for the info!

question, you have the pipes connected to the headers directly from what is see, do the pipes have some sort of silencer, or is it just a pipe?

There is an insert that slides in the side pipe. You can get different ones and that was what I am comparing.
