Connor wants Khabib in Russia Dana whit Ovechkin’s obviously the greatest player and goal scorer when hasn’t the guy lead the league in goals? , not a single player in today’s generation the toughest generation of scoring goals has even scored 500 goals.. but then there’s Ovi who has over 600 the absolute one of a kind who hits unlike any elite forward in history. Lemieux wasn’t even the best goal scorer in his generation, Bossy was *hands down* the greatest goal scorer of the 80s along with Gretzky too. Crosby is just a super injury prone version of Gretzky but unlike Gretzky Crosby’s stingy, dives, whines to refs, doesn’t respect opponents, slashes fingers off and should’ve got a 10+ game suspension but it’s evident Crosby could fully wind up swing a stick at a player’s face and get no suspension and he spits in players faces complete scum and cancer to the game who you can’t respect unless you’re one of the stubborn feeble minded yinzers

Forsberg the GOAT. The best "reactional" deker of all time (most players learns 20-50 moves and dekes, Forsberg reacted and instinctively made moves instead of testing some move in his mind) Still holds the points record in JWC - 31 points in 7 games Changed the game of ice hockey with his offensive tackle that now many are using Hurt a lot Still managed 8th-7th place on the points/game - all time, though his era had the lowest points/game average in NHL history Still managed 4th-5th place on the assists/game - all time, though his era had the lowest assists/game average in NHL history Never dipped any assists/game, nor points/game average throughout his carrier, hurt or not. Crosby is dipping in all averages per game. Let us see if McDavid can stay on his averages or if he also will dip like Crosby. Forsberg was a better defensive player than all of them and snatched the puck easily from anybody.) Best passer of all time (KZbin his quarterback passes for example) Best 2-way player of all time Sickest winning mentality of all time (he turned around a couple of 0-5 to 7-5 and 6-5 and many 0-4 - without any help from the rest of the team Turned Milan Hejduk and the average player Simon Gagne 50 goals/season scorers. Made everybody better Dominated in the highest Swedish League as a teenager Won the famous "TV Pucken" as a young teenager - National youth tournament that is live broadcasted on National TV in Sweden Top 7 best defense-skilled Forward ever Who takes the puck from who? Forsberg takes the puck from whoever - Gretzky, Mario, Crosby, McDavid, anybody - and leaves those players on their backs while skating away creating a play that dominates enough to create a goal. 5 Forsbergs' wins against any 5 players you try to put in front of the Forsbergs' - I'm sorry. Possibly if you put 5 Ty Domis' and they go in for knocking out the Forsberg's they might win. I'm sorry. End of discussion. The End. (outro soundtrack "Simply the Best" playing..) I drop the microphone, walks away to the applause by the peasants, into the sunset with my Forsberg Jersey on. Personally, I got Lemieux over Crosby because of the statistical and talent domination that Lemieux exhibited. Not that Crosby isn't dominant, it's just that Lemieux was unstoppable. You expected at least 2 points from him every game. Lemieux also proved he could comeback in any era and score. He scored a 161 points and then a 122 points in 96' and 97'. Those two years were in the notorious dead puck era. He was just the most offensively skilled player I ever saw. Crosby would be great in any era, but the dead puck era would slow him down a little bit because of the crazy open ice hits, defensive systems, physicality, goaltending (Roy, Hasek, Brodeur, and Belfour all in their primes), and clutch & grabbing from 1994-2004 where Lemieux still dominated.
@chelious1973
@chelious1973 Жыл бұрын
That was not the dead puck era. Crosby played almost his whole career in the dead puck era. For the 1995-1996 the gpg average was 3.14. For 1996-1997 it was 2.92. In 2010-2011, 2011-2012, 2012-2013 Crosby prime years it was 2.79, 2.73, 2.72. Crosby was on pace for 130-140 pts each of those years. He averaged 1.6-to 1.7ppg during those years. Adjusted for era Crosbys numbers would be on par with Lemieux. Put Crosby in Lemieux’s era and he would have quite easily averaged over 2pts a game for his prime years.

Sid and Geno are this generation's Yzerman and Fedorov. IN FACT, next season Malkin will likely match the totals that Fedorov recorded in his 13 seasons with the Red Wings. 12 seasons into his career with the Pens, Malkin has 370 goals, 560 assists, 930 points. At the end of his 13-year tenure with Red Wings, Fedorov had 400 goals, 554 assists, 954 points. Notching 30 goals, 24 assists next season should be a walk in the park for Geno. Fedorov scored 83 goals, 142 assists, 225 points over his final 7 seasons in the NHL with Anaheim, Columbus and Washington and capped off a 20-year career with 483 goals, 696 assists and 1,179 points to his name. I can see Geno matching those career numbers as well, and even surpassing them over his next 8 years in Pittsburgh (provided he plays that long). As for Crosby and Stevie Y..... Stevie Y = 692 goals, 1063 assists and 1755 points over 22 years in Detroit. Crosby's currently at 411 goals, 705 assists, and 1116 points over 13 years in Pittsburgh so far. 300 goals, 358 assists, and 669 points over the next 9 years is achievable for him (provided he has it in him to play that long). Though I don't think we'll ever see the following stretch of scoring from Sid: 1987-88 Detroit Red Wings NHL 64 50 52 102 44 3 1 3 4 6 1988-89 Detroit Red Wings NHL 80 65 90 155 61 6 5 5 10 2 1989-90 Detroit Red Wings NHL 79 62 65 127 79 - - - - - 1990-91 Detroit Red Wings NHL 80 51 57 108 34 7 3 3 6 4 1991-92 Detroit Red Wings NHL 79 45 58 103 64 11 3 5 8 12 1992-93 Detroit Red Wings NHL 84 58 79 137 44 7 4 3 7 4 THIS STRETCH OF YZERMAN'S CAREER WAS SIMPLY RIDICULOUS.

What some people do not realize is that the skill level and talent of folks like Lemieux, Jagr, Gretzky, Messier, and many others of course where in fact far ahead of their time periods. The competition, athleticism, techniques, and even equipment in Crosby and Malkin's era at much higher standards than ever before. I'de dare say if you placed a player like Crosby, and take him back in time to the 70's, 80's, and even early 90's and utilize his current skills and conditioning, he would easily adapt to the game style and completely flatten the competition. Not to say that it would take away from the elites in those days, but a player like crosby wouldnt just have a personal advantage, his insight he would give to his team would transform the penguins into the new oilers so to speak, and without requiring the players to already be superstars before hand. because one thing we have noticed with Crosby is that his style of play most certainly impacts the rest of the team for the better. He's one of the greatest captainns I have ver seen in my life.
@AndyMatts44

That's a silly argument to make, I hate it, and I see it used in basketball all the time. All the skills and insight he'd take back in time are mostly acquired because of the greats who broke that ground before him. Subsequent generations build on what came before. Take Jordan back to Dr J's early days, and he has no advantage because he only started off knowing, from the earliest age, you could fly around like that because Dr J had done it before. No one had every tried the shot from behind and between the legs in live game play until someone like Datsyuk did it. Now pretty much everyone can at least try it, from high school on up. You take an old timer, bring them forward in time, and give them the head start of all that stuff having been done before, with training, nutrition and equipment advantages of modern times, how much greater would they be than they were, and how much greater would they be than their modern peers? How much more productive would Mario be today with what orthopedists know about back and disc pain/injuries vs 1990s?

Forsberg - the GOAT. Hurt a lot. Still only 1 of 3 that are double Triple Gold Members in ice hockey history Countries by number of registered ice hockey players in 2019/20 Canada 607.000 USA 562.000 Russia 101.000 Sweden 73.300 Finland 71.000 Still Forsberg won 2 Stanleys' (played hurt alot and could have won 2-3 more healthy) Still Forsberg won 2 Olympic Golds' (by the size of the country based on registered ice hockey players Sweden shouldn't win anything) Still Forsberg won 2 World Cup Golds' (by the size of the country based on registered ice hockey players Sweden shouldn't win anything) 1 game away from winning the Swedish League Won the assist/season and Points/Season Awards twice in the Swedish League before he started in the NHL Most viscous, ruthless, devious, complete warrior the game has ever seen and the ultimate line-mate Most sacrificing poster boy/superstar ever in NHL - always blocked shots, back-checked, defended against the coaches orders (Gretzky and Mario rarely back-checked and never really sacrificed their bodies to block pucks or stopped plays in their own zone. The End. (outro soundtrack "Simply the Best" playing..) I drop the microphone, walks away to the applause by the peasants, into the sunset with my Forsberg Jersey on. the reason why u cant compare two generations is that trainning, technics etc evolve. but one thing u can compare is the amount of players. there are much more players in 2018 than there was in 2000. see the amount of very good players today its insane. so u cant have the same credit for being the best in 2000 vs being the best in 2018. just like in any discipline: poker, MMA or any sport. its simple math. there were lot of people that could have been very good hockey players in 2000 that never even played hockey. that % is just lower in 2018.mario wouldnt be AS great if he played in todays game
