It's a convenient GOP narrative to blame the Democrats for McCarthy's ouster, when it was actually one of their own who summoned the executioner. And I suspect the Dems couldn't believe their good fortune . . . the GOP handed them their own leader's head on a plate. 😉

@paolovantassel1989 Жыл бұрын
Honestly, they probably blamed the Democrats for Matt Gaetz trying to oust McCarthy in the first place. It's a knee jerk response; bad thing happens = Democrats, media, "wokeness", immigrant caravans et. al. caused it. Also, I find it grimly amusing that the GOP was willing to burn the Capitol to the ground to prevent a Democrat from becoming president, but are shitting their diapers because the Democrats removed a single fundraiser politician.
@eldorados_lost_searcher Жыл бұрын
They had it baked into the motion before the vote happened. Representative Matthew "Baby Teeth" Gaetz II (r) was saying before the vote that the only way former Speaker McCarthy could stay in power was with Democrat help. Therefore, whether he stayed on was ousted, it would be their fault, not his own party's. It's a clever way to dodge responsibility, in a high schooler saying "my dog ate my homework" kinda way.

@@jeremycurtis2334 Good on you! That is genuinely what's needed to fix this, the average people telling them enough is enough. You are an inspiration, your country needs a lot more of you! Additional to the great work you are currently doing for your country, I suggest you also look up "voices for Indi", a grass roots political movement from Australia that managed to replace party politicians that wouldn't listen to their continuants with grass roots candidates that would. No reason you can't follow the same roadmap they used to repeat it there, just need people like yourself, that are genuinely ready to help your country to work together to pull it off. 16 "safe seats" were replaced with grass roots independents in the last election in Australia, all using the "Voices for Indi" roadmap to do it. If you can pull it off once, you can get the momentum needed to make it a national movement & even without that, as soon as you manage it with one, the establishment politicians will sit up & take notice & start listening more to their constituents & not playing the silly games they currently are. They only do it cause they know their jobs are secure, change that & watch them suddenly start to listen to the people! You are genuinely inspirational & what your country needs to save it!

the problem is that the same can be said about the democrats, they could have just voted republican and the government would be working again. but no one is going to vote for the opposite party, its a political suicide. the best you could hope for is the few well minded republicans decide to just switch to the democratic party, then the dems would become majority, and the few MAGA candidates wouldn't have the power to freeze the government anymore.

Lets be honest, Dems backed the nuttiest branch of the GOP to get rid of McCarthy (who wanted him gone for negotiating sensibly with Dems) without Dems having any plan of what to do once he was gone. Dems also decided to ignore the fact that McCarthy was very likely to be replaced with a radical that would harm Biden's agenda by being deliberately obstructionist. As he left the NY courtroom yesterday, he said that he would not be in court today because he would be at that tourney. Sidney Powell flipped about 13 hours ago, and trump has been uncharacteristically silent about it. It is about a 12 hour flight from Miami to Moscow, give or take. So give him about an hour to grab a bugout bag and hightail it to the airport, then another hour for clearance and takeoff, he should be approaching Russian airspace about now.
