This is my favorite Fleetwood Mac song. I hope that people discover it since it never gets played on the radio. I think it's every bit as beautiful a melody as Silver Springs or Landslide only more bittersweet.

My baby was stillborn in 1985. I knew before they induced labor that he was gone. But still had to stay on labor and delivery floor hearing and seeing babies that were fine. Seeing happy little families. I was alone. And after the birth never got to hold my little one or touch my baby. This song got me through. That and my dog. I couldnt leave my dog. I have no idea how many times i have heard this. But it helps, an elegy to my child.

Michele C-F: I am so sorry for your loss, and the never-ending sadness of your experience. Your baby was an innocent soul and is with Jesus; if you surrender yourself to Jesus, receiving His forgiveness and gift of eternal life, you will be blessed with someday holding in your arms the adult from which God has evolved your baby - he is still yours. The Bible states that when we see Jesus we will be like Him, and He was 32 or 33 years old when He Ascended, so we can expect to be an approximation of that age. Which sounds really good to this worn-out 80-years old man. God bless you, Michele.

We know whose fault that is. That is what happens when the major money-maker is jealous, bitter, spoiled and narcissistic. I used to be a big Stevie fan & while I still enjoy her music, after reading much about her she is not a nice person. This is all an act. One of her bandmates has been convicted of possessing child porn, anybody that gets off on naked kids is the lowest of the low. If you read the Life magazine article about Fleetwood Mac that came out shortly after Christine's death you will find that she told Ken Calliat ( without whom, neither she nor Lindsay would have a career) that she cursed his dog (which is black magic- so much for that white witch lie), that she was glad that his dog was dead because it was on the cover of Tusk & she believed that she should have had the cover, this was also stated in Carol Harris's book called storms. The magazine also states that she'd give her dog, Jenny the white powdered substance Stevie loved so much because she thought it was funny the way the poor little dog would run around in circles. She also said if she didn't have her abortion Fleetwood Mac would never have become what it is which undermines the rest of the band. Even Grace Slick could carry a baby but not princess Stevie. She ruined the band and now that Christine has passed the band will never reunite. Maybe if she was more lovable she would actually have something more then a career that she should have retired from a long time ago

Narcissism! Yes I believe you are right about that. I think celebrity worship is one of the major problems we have as a society and it causes many celebs to be emotionally unbalanced and narcissistic. Enjoy the music, but stop idolizing these celebs as Gods.
@BarbaraBowenPhotography9 ай бұрын
Oh I don’t believe that story. She may have narcissistic tendencies as any star has to push themselves to such levels. But Lindsey had a jealous angry abusive side that is even disclosed in his ex wife’s book. If you look at photos of Stevie when the Fleetwood Mac album came out in 1975 she appears to be the young one pleasing people and wanting acceptance. She is a poet and a creator that is constantly writing. FM would only use 3-4 songs per album. And she sometimes lost creative control to the band. So she as a creative outlet, she put out solo albums….that is when her self confidence really came to be as she was very successful on her own. Some men cannot handle confident woman…so they write her off as a bi!#%. After almost 50 years of success, the general consensus of Stevie Nicks is that she has a big heart. If she truly was a narcissistic jerk, the mask would have come off and she would have been exposed by now. Namaste 🙏 💫✨💕

Such a heartfelt and beautiful song. I was so very fortunate to see this band back in the 70's. They were so very young. In my opinion, it's the ballad's that they excel at. Few can do it as well as they do. This is one of those songs you don't simply listen too. You feel it. Stevie put's the same emotion into every song, whether she has sang it 100 times or if this is the first time. Therein lies her incredible talent. It's her passion and love of the music and it comes across so very easily to the fans. We are a tough group to fool. We know genuine emotion when we hear it.

***** I'm shocked. I don't understand how they come up with the "Top" hits. Is their room full of Corp. guys tallying up the votes? Nobody ever asked me what song I thought was best at any given time. Besides, I believe there are a few bands out there (not many) who simply don't care about the numbers. I would like to think there are some who do it for the love of the music and the love of their fans. Call me optimistic:)))

Conceivably and argumentativly... Woody, Smokey, Dolly, Diane, Irving, Duke, Paul, Steve, Gerhard and Neil... all surpassed Stevie. You might disagree if their identities don't seem evident to you (seen in this informal format). I believe they at least merit potential face-off indisputability. Isn't this song about the literal love that Ms. Nicks forever nurtures for the figurative child, Sir George Martin, The (unofficial fifth beatle of the) Beatles whom she was romantic with but rejected by; and is the same person who once went by the pseudonym "Lezlo Anales" (which is tongue-in-cheek for Baby Butt) and who was actually knighted (by The really-real-life Duke of Edinburgh) back in the 90s?

If you have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord, you will see Jonathon again, because all infants are included in the propitiatory work of Christ on the cross. You and he, along with all other Christians, will appear to be around 33 years of age, because that's how old Jesus was when He was murdered, and the Bible states that "we shall be like him" when we see Him in Eternity. I started buying her newer material and was surprised to learn that she wrote many of my favorite FM songs -- the beauty, the voice and a songwriter too? Epic. I remember when "Tusk" came out and my favorite songs were "Beautiful Child", "Storms" and "Sara" ... and she wrote them all along with my favorite song of all time "Rihannon". Her voice is hauntingly beautiful and this song is a classic. She is a true icon.

Man I've heard this song so many times, and it never fails to give me a chill, even now. Although it is about Stevie and a phase in her life, it conjures up images of my brother. A gentle troubled soul who sought to end it all at the tender age of 22. He had this record and my sister was playing this track the night he died. Prophetic? I don't know. Even almost 40 years on. Rest in peace Anthony. A beautiful, sleepless child

If you don't get chills when she's holding the note at the 5:08 minute mark, you're dead inside

This was my wife's anthem to her son back when she played it on the air back in the 70's-80's...and it has remained that important to her ever since.

It's so nice to know that so many wonderful people feel this way about her. She has actually helped me out of deep depression when I listen to her fill every song with emotion and truth. I feel connected to Stevie in every possible way. She and Tom Petty will live forever in our hearts and minds. Stevie, stay healthy and sing for decades to come.
