This video ended convincing me to get a Siege Optimus instead of an Earthrise one after thinking for a while. And I don't regret it, it's an awesome figure that I've been having fun with for a whole week, and I'm sure that will last for a long time.

I remember when this figure got first announced back in 2018 and my reaction was "Ugh, another half baked Optimus till we get the actual proper one" fast-forward to 6 months ago and I got the Siege OP on sale for 10 bucks at a local shop. All I can say is, man I gave this figure an unfair middle finger, he's literally one of the best voyagers I've ever had, I genuinely had him on my desk for 3 months because I couldn't stop fiddling with him.

So want to hear me talk about which is better… Plus side Siege op: he looks and feel great as well as having great poses. And the head paint is just perfect. And for my copy, it’s really solid and does not want to come apart and his accessories are both cool and awesome. And his car mode is really a treat, and the leg transformation was just genius. Earthrise op: he is a G1 Optimus Prime through and through. He looks and feels like Optimus and poses great too. And some of his accessories are just right like the gun folding out, and his trailer looks pretty good. His car mode is also great. And now for the bad sides Siege op: his underarms just don’t tab in. And his backpack can be distracting at some points. His smoke pipes just are annoying. And his axe just does not look great with out paint. Earthrise op: his looks like an anime character with long legs. His paint is just horrible. In fact my copy’s paint was so bad that the actobot logo faded away aswell as other parts like his front car mode and arms (you can kind of see it in my stop motions). His chest just does not want to stay together. His car mode legs just don’t work at all. His head paint is so bad, I replaced it with Siege. His window chest extend a bit too far. And the trailer door shield was just the most dumbest idea ever. Also unrelated topic… my cliffjumpers paint is worst then perspective cliffjumper

In terms of paint for EarthRise, I would recommend the Netflix variant over the regular leader class variant. The paint is much more pleasing to look at, and has not faded or been bad on my copy.

@@joaoandlucas5867 My copy still seems to be pretty good. The only one plastic-related issue is on one of the two flaps on Optimus’s waste that open up and out when he goes into truck mode. One side is firm and good, but the other side is slightly loose, and has some pre-packaged stress marks. However, if there is one overall design flaw that will wholeheartedly agree on with ER Optimus is the feet. You can tell that pegs on each foot, along with the peg ports they are beside are meant to tab in, but for every figure of ER Optimus, they were molded onto the wrong side of the feet so that they are adjacent to each other and can’t peg in at all. I mean, it’s a small part in the grand scheme of the figure, and nothing to too much lost with it, but how does a mismold become this widespread of a thing without it being fixed down the line? It’s almost as annoying as the printing Hasbro forgot to do on SS Scavenger where they forget to put a windshield on the cab section of the excavator on every figure.

Got to thank this figure for getting me into collecting about a year ago, it was my first Optimus and first transformer in general, and damn, what a good figure he is for a start! He's just solid in every way and I love this version of Prime, even his awful Netflix representation couldn't spoil him for me. And also I adore WfC and FoC dilogy, so I liked their design by the most part, but, I always thought that even in there some of the altmods just didn't work, and especially Optimuses. He always looked to me just like a big space vacuum cleaner with no sense of scale. So a heavily stylized, but still recognizable cyber truck of this OP got into my heart instantly, even If my mind says that WfC/FoC design is more realistic and logical.

I like the way ER feels so much better. Everything is clicky without ratchets, everything is so detaileld, and I made him SUPER more ung1 accurate by making his side stripes and faceplate blue sharpie and doing all the greebling (on the netflicx version) and the crotch blue, but I dont really think siege feels better at alll

This figure is definitely one of my favs. After clipping the hell out of the front skirting armor to get a full kick (cuz I cant live with a figure that doesnt have full front kicks) this figure basically poses perfectly. TAKE THAT EARTHRISE. Sadly, recently mine tried to cosplay as movie Jazz and snapped in half at the waist. Even after having to glue that together (basically turning this thing into a red figure) he’s still really sweet. ESPECIALLY when you give the ss38 gun to him.

Earthrise Optimus is just “Optimus Prime Ver Ka.” For those not in the know, Katoki Hajime is one of MANY mechanical designers for the Gundam Franchise, but is prolific enough to get his own sub-section in the Master Grade model kit line. His “claim to fame” is his “Long Legs, small torso” proportions and enough decals to make your head spin. Personally, I’m not a fan of Katoki’s proportions, but he did make some of my favorite Gundams (EX-S, Zeta Plus, Heavyarms EW), so I’m super torn on him as a designer. Also it says a LOT for this toy when the only Upgrade Kits I can find are just accessories and the smoke stacks. Not even the usual gap-fillers.

The long legs small torso look can work, but you gotta hide things right. Gundam gets away with it because of the waist and skirt armor. Once you make that armor the hip joint, it's no longer hidden how long the legs are and it ends up looking so bad.

Siege Prime was the third figure I got from all of Siege after Megatron, who I got after Starscream, and before I was a full on collector. And Prime was by far my favorite of the trio. I played with him so much that he was basically worn out after nearly 3 years, in which I have since replaced him with the Premium Finish version, who was the exact same mold.

I missed out on both original releases of the siege Optimus unfortunately but I just recently got the Netflix Nemesis prime repaint and oh my God I am so glad I get to experience that mold. Genuinely probably the best voyager class mold of optimus except maybe that HFTD version that was just the smaller leader class

In my head, I never considered the truck grill to be a form of faux forming because it looks different and feels like a separate piece of machinery from the chest grill that the robot form uses. My head canon is that the truck grill uses the chest grill as a composite component, sorta like the air filters you find in your car engine

I recently ran across a new Siege Prime on sale for $27, and my Kingdom hasn't held up too well "it's hips you love so much, broke at the post the screw goes into, and I had to use a larger self tapper to hold it together, and I lost the front wheels lol" so I picked it up. If I had to choose between the two, Siege or Earthrise, to be the one and only Optimus Prime for my War For Cybertron collection, I choose Earthrise Optimus Prime in a heartbeat. Which I did. But back then, I wasn't collecting War For Cybertron Trilogy at the time. Mainly focusing on collecting Studio Series figures. But when I decided to expand my Transformers collection, to included War For Cybertron Trilogy, Earthrise was announced. And I figured the Earthrise Optimus Prime was more G1 accurate so I didn't get the Siege version. If I did, I would have gone for the 35th anniversary "Classic Animation" colored Siege Optimus Prime, as the coloration was pleasing. But Walmart was out of them. Later on, I did get his evil repaint as Nemesis Prime from the Netflix Spoiler Box. And the Premium Finish Siege Optimus Prime is on my list.

I still have yet to even see this mold. I want to pick up the Netflix Nemesis Prime verison so that I can keep both WFC Optimi on the shelf. Going by appearances tho, I don't really prefer one over the other, Siege is very proportionate, but kibbly in some spots, ER has legs that are a little too long, if you buy the leader, less paint, and a trailer that is so trash it may as well have not been included, but the alt mode is good, theres no kibble anywhere, and a matrix chamber.

I wanna buy the Er Optimus and then buy the Siege Nemesis One, so I can experience both without having the same character twice. I think that the kibbly Siege mold works better with Nemesis, it just makes him look more evil and threatening. The dark, cyber truck helps with the aggression too. But I have one question. Can someone confirm if the Nemesis has the same "hand candy" feel that the default has?

While Er Prime isn't as G1 as people say it is, it's still kinda resembles it, unlike Siege, who's miles off. I don't want a reminder of the Netflix show either. Your hype story is similar to mine with ultra magnus, I remember when we got those first renders I was SOOOO hyped, I didn't realize he would be shorter but still, I needed him. When the line came out however my walmart never had leaders, and I wasn't collecting or anything full swing yet, but soon enough I found the siege box version, and though it isn't what it should have been it is my ultra magnus so I love it, though it didn't necessarily live up to the hype.

The 35th anniversary Siege Prime was my first WFC figure and it sold me pretty immediately on the Siege series. My only issues were just that the plastics on the chest and head didn't feel entirely ideal on my copy. I have thought about buying the mainline version since that one looks like it may have slightly better plastics and tolerances, but I still love the one I have enough that I haven't really felt the need to pull the trigger on that yet.

I ended getting the Earth Rise Prime a few years ago to replace my Siege one. I was blinded by the more G1 truck mode. I recently traded my brother to get the Siege one back, after hearing you praise it, and I understand completely what you're saying. The robot mode looks a lot better, the transformation is more fun, and my Earth Rise Prime had a ton of paint issues that I had to redo multiple times during the few years I had it. I can look past, and even appreciate, the more Cybertronian truck mode because of the amazing robot mode. Plus you can fold up the wheels and do a hover truck. And hover truck go wooooooooooooooo.

I don't know, whether his truck mode supposed to be Cybertronian vehicle or not but to me it just his G1 cab that heavily modified for battle purpose. It's not bad at all, and i guess it fits with the "war" title where you have to add more armor and weaponary for your vehicle mode.

I don't have this (yet) or the ER one (yet) but I've gone through a weird series where first this was one of the top things on my list to get if I could find it on sale, then for some reason a year ago I stopped feeling it, and now I went back to looking it over after eyeing some Premium Finish figs and it's gone back up to the top of the list. That transformation really is just incredible to look at; given the prices the standard one is going for now, I'll probably spike the extra ten-ish bucks and pick up the PF version soon for those faded colors and green glass. I wish they'd go back to doing more with Optimus than just Nemesis repaints; all the translucent pieces on this could be used in such cool ways with other colors.

That seems like what is happening with a lot of fans of that toy. The novelty of it wears off, and it just kind of falls in their opinions. It's unfortunate, but I think it really is just the Wow factor dying away, and revealing the toy for what it is. Just Ok.

@@PerspectiveEnd Managed to find the TT premium finish version for $38 shipped and it just arrived and yeah, wow, wowzers. On the one hand, this thing feels terrifyingly fragile with so many fine thin plastic swivel joints. But on the other hand, what an incredible design, incredible transformation. Going to keep looking around online to see if another one pops up for under $35, just to have a second one as an alt mode backup in case I ever have to cease transforming it out of caution. But damn, what a figure. Might also just look into oversize KOs.

That's not really an argument you can make, because the Toy Came first, and the Show just used it's CAD model. Of course they look the same, they used the same computer model for it. No one gets accuracy points for that, it's the literal same thing. It's like using the same prop in 2 movies, not 1 and then a replica of it, the exact same one.

Im shocked you didn't cover how satisfying the transformation into vehicle mode is! The way all the limbs and body parts move into their proper places, then all fuse together with the most satisfying selection of tabs and panels that ive ever felt on a figure that finish to form the most stable battering ram on wheels is one of my favorite parts of the figure. And YES, this figure was the first new transformer i had bought in a long time at the time, and i was so invigorated by how amazing his posing and the physical plastic felt. He blew my old mechtech TFP one out of the water in trgards to posing and color selection. This figure was so amazing that when i saw they made a Nemesis prime version of him, i HAD to have it, and i was somehow evel MORE in love with that version of the toy when i got it than the original Optimus. 13/10 figure, im a sucker for a Nemesis prime repaint

Im gonna buy this mold, I've had shit experience with the earthrise. I've owned 2 versions and both times the QC has been botched. Im getting the cell shaded one to go with my 35th anniversary megatron. Im curious what you think about the cell chafed version of this mold, considering it lacks the battle damage and has super shown accurate colors to g1.

In my opinion the most important part of of any figure is the transformation I will almost never pick up a figure that has an average transformation or bad one, but even if a figure has a lacking alt mode or robot mode because, if I can flick back and fourth between modes and pick it up and still have fun with it that is the most important part of a transformers figure.

Sorry if for the late response, like what is the level of sanitization it needed? If it's just from a worries about covid, than half an hour to a 1 hour in the sun and should do the trick and won't lead to any damage of the figure's. Provided it's not like 120 outside. But the figure's themselves if they come in their boxes should not really have a risk of infection, the boxes might though.

@@PerspectiveEnd It’s from the War For Cybertron 2011 game. In the fifth Decepticon mission, you get to fight Omega Supreme as either Megatron, Soundwave, or Breakdown. In the beginning cutscene, Omega Supreme grabs your ship and throws it, so you crash. Starscream assumes that Megatron dies and tries to seize command (as he always does) while Megatron has to go through Omega Supreme first to get to Starscream. But before getting stranded, Megatron gets out of his crashed ship and radios Starscream to get him out of there, at which point Starscream voices his surprise that Megs survived the crash, saying “Megatron! I watched you crash and burn!” It’s a very fun mission and is followed by an epic boss fight. The entire game is honestly very good.

@@PerspectiveEnd Nope, I don’t even own any copies. I played a ton of Fall for Cybertron instead, both campaign and multiplayer. I regularly watch a ton of videos about War for Cybertron though, since it’s not available anymore, it’s a very well written and quotable game. It was also a genius idea to make Omega Supreme a final boss as the Decepticons and Trypticon as the final boss for the Autobots.

I actually have a review on one of the OSKOs, and my advice is they are OK to get, but this is actually better. The Materials on the OSKOs aren't as nice, the tolerances are not heinous but worse, and what they've done to the transformation to improve the look of the robot mode, makes what was an all time Greatest Transformation hall of famer, into something that's just lesser.
